"YOU WHAT?!" Elena asks the following evening "I knew you'd be reacting like this" Stoick says "Dad I thought you promised not to do this to me" Elena says ignoring the other chief completely "I don't want... never mind you won't listen anyway" she says storming out of her house. Hiccup and Drake arrive at the chiefs house, but don't see Elena or her dragons anywhere "Don't ask where she is, I don't know" Stoick says "Her father had some news she didn't take all too well" "Are there any hidden areas?" Hiccup asks "Yes, a few, most are in dragon territory" Drake says "Toothless can handle it" Hiccup says jumping on his dragon. The two boys split up to look for her and Toothless slows down realizing they have to find someone.
Elena is hugging her dragon while staring at the fire as Midnight drops more wood on the pile, she couldn't believe her father, he promised "Why are fathers like that? They never listen" she says, she was angy, tired, sad and confused "Don't bother getting food Midnight, I'm not hungry" she says causing the dragon to lay down "Think dad's looking for me?" she asks looking at her two dragons, who are laying around lazily "Night Snowflake, Midnight" she says as she slowly falls asleep. The smoke from the fire show in the distance making Hiccup and Toothless stop "That way", they get stopped by a group dragons defending the cave "Easy" Hiccup says so Toothless roars they don't mean any harm "Come on, we know where she is, let's go back" Hiccup says leaving again. He goes back the next afternoon and Tootless flies down "Go away" Elena says with a sigh "I don't wanna see anyone, especially not you. Go ask my dad why our fathers had to talk" "We're worried" Hiccup says "Sure hope you don't have a girlfriend" Elena says before Tootless flies off.
"Hold on a second" Hiccup says stopping the chief in the middle of his explanation "You arranged a marriage between me and Elena? While you promised Elena not to do that and you find it strange she's not coming home?" "Yes" the chief says "So not telling you where she is" Hiccup says leaving the house "My answers no, I won't force someone to marry me if they don't want to" he adds closing the door, loudly. He finds Drake at the waterfall and sits down next to him "So... what's up with my best friend?" "Her father arranged a marriage for her, with me" Hiccup says "Said no, but he's probably as stubborn as a rock" "That he is" Drake grins, loud roaring cuts their time together short and they get on their dragons "Chief..." Drake says "I thought it didn't come to the village".
Elena shoots up seeing a large shadow fly over her "Oh no" she says getting of Snowflake who flies up "It lives in lava..." she mumbles "Of course!" she says jumping to Midnight, who flies straight towards the dragon "Hey ugly! This way!", Midnight shoots it's head making it follow the two "Elena stop, taking it on alone is suicide!" Drake yells "She found it's weakness!" Stoick says watching the two stop a good distance away from the island and she grins when it doesn't stop "The wings" she says making Snowflake shoot rapidly at one of the wings while Midnight aims for the other one. It starts getting lower and Elena dodges the dragon, but not quick enough as it grabs her off her dragon "Shit..." she mumbles looking at her Night Fury, who's shooting the claw in the hope it'll let go.
Hiccup and Drake stop their dragons where the giant dragon drowned "Toothless" Hiccup says, but the dragon shakes it's head "I see" Drake says. However Midnight suddenly dives forwards and into the water, coming back up with an unconscious Elena "Thank goodness she's alright" Drake says "She took a great risk though" Stoick says "Come on breath" Hiccup mumbles and Elena coughs up water, but doesn't wake up yet.
That evening Elena's mother is scolding her husband, while Stoick is in the room with them and Hiccup is upstairs watching Elena "You think she'll be fine?" Drake asks "You know her better then I do" Hiccup points out "Her father's getting a long lecture". Stoick heads upstairs and says "Son, I'm leaving again" "Yeah okay" Hiccup says with a yawn "Let's give these two some privacy" Drake says. The next morning Hiccup sighs seeing nothing changed "She looks cold" he mumbles grabbing another blanket, but when he re-enters the room the bed is empty, so he runs to the window before following her. Elena nearly falls down "Stoick, Gobber wait!" she calls, but she loses her balance and falls down "Elena your father's gonna be worried about you" Stoick says helping her up "He doesn't want a girl to be the next chief!" she says "That's why he arranged it" she adds and she starts coughing "You'd be a great chief though" Hiccup says with a sigh dropping a blanket over her head "Come on Toothless, get the other two" he adds helping Elena to the ship "Dad's gonna have to get a girl to be the next chief though" she mumbles when Gobber hands her something to drink "I heard" Stoick says, they head off and Elena sighs looking at the sky "If it's any comfort, we made peace with the dragons" Gobber says earning a slight smile "And it took seeing your son nearly dying?" Elena asks looking at Stoick who's at a loss of words "It's fine dad" Hiccup says sitting down as well "Drake's gonna miss me though" Elena mumbles "No way in hell you're leaving me there" Drake says landing his dragon on the deck "And you're an idiot" he adds earning a weak chuckle "Thanks" "Got some ropes chief?" Drake asks "The two night furies can pull the ship" "Great idea, why didn't I think of that?" Stoick says "We're going home" he says "And you're gonna get along great with Astrid".
