Drake and Astrid

"Hey guys, we have a visitor" Fishlegs asks not a week later "Elena's bringing the egg back" Astrid says "It's Drake" her friend says "Well start with that" she says running off to the stables "You're here!" she yells hugging him and Hiccup lands next to them "Of course" Drake says "Anyway, this is my new dragon, kinda" "Huh, thought for sure you'd train a Skrill and not that" Hiccup says "It's not really mine, it's my fathers, but I wasn't allowed to bring the Skrill, it tends to clash with Elena's dragon" "Astrid, why don't you give him a tour?" Fishlegs says as Toothless flies up and takes the supplies bag with him "Of course".

When Elena reurns that night she wants to fly to Astrid's hut, but quickly changes her mind seeing Drake's dragon outside, so she goes to Hiccup "Hey why aren't you- never mind I think I know that answer" he says earning a nod "Can I stay here tonight?" "O-of course you can", Toothless rolls his eyes and jumps down seeing Midnight "We're almost done with your place" "Great, but I didn't see it anywhere" Elena says heading upstairs "Well remember how you loved your mountain hideout on Berk? I'm making a new one on the north side of the island overlooking the ocean" "You mean the one with all the snow?" "Yes, exactly, unless you'd rather have a normal hut" "A mountain hideout sounds great Hiccup, but I'd rather have somewhere closer to everyone else" Elena says sitting on the ground "Are you sure you're fine sleeping here and not-" "I doubt Snotlout has any room left, the twins are well, the twins and Fishlegs won't even let me get near his hut" "How about on ground level? Where we also have the dome and everything else". Somewhere during the night Hiccup gets up and sighs "You can't sleep like that" he mumbles seeing his friend sleeping against Midnight and he raises an eyebrow seeing the small cuts end bruises "Midnight, how long is she sleeping?" he asks quietly making the dragon look at him "Not long, okay" he mumbles picking Elena up and putting her on his bed.

The next morning he realizes why when he sees the small area in the wall when he passes the dome "Guess we'll make it here" Drake says "Where is she?" "She decided to make breakfast" Hiccup says earning a sigh "I'll warn you now, they'll never want anything else" Drake points out "Her little sister already prefers her food over their mother's" "Breakfast is ready" Astrid says flying over their heads "We're coming" Drake says.

Elena is quiet, poking at her own breakfast "What's wrong with her?" Fishlegs asks "Oh she's worried someone will come drag her home, no one would" Drake says "That's the problem" Elena says looking at him "My mother is so busy taking care of my sister she doesn't even care I left" she adds making the twins stop their usual banter "And all she does is tell me that I need to think about the future of our tribe, not about me, no our tribe. I shouldn't have become chieftess three years ago, mom should've taken over" "You know Elena" Ruffnut says putting an arm around her and Tuffnut follows her example "If your mother or anyone else show up to drag you home-" "we'll give you enough time to escape" "Thanks" Elena says with a smile "Also, that's my breakfast Ruff".

It's quiet when it comes to missions so Hiccup spends his time finishing Elena's place while Astrid is taking her around the island "Impressive, you even added windows" Drake says "And yet it's still very good camouflaged" "It's what she prefers I noticed" Hiccup points out moving some furniture inside "Yeah, she's always been sneaky, her being chief has it's perks" "Like what? I imagine you as her 'older brother' would be supporting her" Hiccup points out "I try my best, but my point is, her duties as chief kept her from thinking too much about you, she missed you" Drake explains "She just feels too preassured by her mother right now to think about anything normally, let alone her feelings", a loud roar cuts their conversation short and everyone gets on their dragons "That's where Elena and Astrid were going" Drake says so they fly over. The two other riders are found near a lake and above them are several Monstrous Nightmares "They usually don't come this far in" Fishlegs says "Focus, we have to help out" Hiccup says so Toothless starts firing on the dragons "So that's where they went" Snotlout says so everyone glares at him "What? Hookfang needed some friends" he says. Midnight and Stormfly drag the two towards the lake and underwater "Let's go help them now!" Hiccup says "Lead them away from here!" "Come on" Drake says so his dragons flies forwards. They scare off the wild dragons and check their friends for injuries "Minor head injuries" Drake says "For both, the fall of their dragons must have knocked them out" "M'fine" Astrid says "What the hell happenes?" Elena asks shaking her head "Wild Monstrous Nightmares" Hiccup says "So what? They're Hookfang's friends" Snotlout says "They can't stay" Astrid says "Agreed" Hiccup says helping Elena up "They've been scaring the other dragons" Drake says seeing old Nadder spines "Blah blah blah, not my problem" Snotlout points out, but Elena walks over and pulls him up by his shirt "You brought them so you're going to get rid of them and if you don't I will burn your hut down after trapping you inside" she says narrowing her eyes "Hookfang help!" he yells, but his dragon walks off and he gets a punch to the face "Did not see that coming" Fishlegs says "Really?" Astrid says "I mean, she- never mind" Fishlegs says.

Elena's happy with her new place and she smiles "See that Midnight, I can go all the way up, sure it's smaller then the others their huts, but this is higher" she says as she starts exploring, finding that climbing is the only way to get up besides flying" "The ground floor is for storage and cooking and the second floor is the main area" Hiccup says "There's some rope to climb up near the wall, Midnight will fit through that hole, but just barely and if she's sleeping upside down then she'll block any light from up there so it will look just like a storage room". Hiccup doesn't know what to expect, but it's not a hug "Thank you" she mumbles so he hugs her back smiling slightly "Anytime Elena, anytime" he whispers.

Astrid is humming while making breakfast "I'm heading back home" Drake says "Do you have to?" Astrid asks earning a nod "Yes, they need help back home, my father needs help in the blacksmith, but we can always exchange more letters and keep an eye on Elena for me". Hiccup clears his throat "While your hugging is nice and all the soup's boiling" he says "I'll come visit as soon as I can" Drake says placing a kiss on Astrid forehead before heading off.
