The "SHE" Groom

CHAPTER TWELVE

Nakatulalang nakadungaw si Veatrice mula sa bintana ng kaniyang silid sa mansyon ng mga Scott. She's preparing herself to go and stay away. At last, she can admit to herself already that she has been falling and been inlove with the enormous playboy police officer named Thomas.

Sa ilang buwang pananatili niya sa mansyon, napalapit na rin naman siya sa mga taong nandoon. There's a part of her who wants to stay but she knew better than anyone else, hindi niya buhay ang kung ano man ang nasa kaniya ngayon.

She's damn sure that everyone will get mad at her. And just by thinking of it is tearing her heart into pieces.

"Mom, I have to tell you something" huminga siya ng malalim bago ipinagpatuloy ang pagsasalita sa inang nasa kabilang linya "Charles and I, we did something really bad"

As expected hindi pa man niya nasasabi ang nagawa nilang kabaliwan, her mom went hysterical already.

"What is it this time Georgina! Paanong nadawit ang kambal mo dito? He was still on recovery. You two never really fails to make my head aches"

She bit her lips " Charles is already married mom" katahimikan ang namayani sa kabilang linya.

And when her mom finally spoke
"What do you mean by that?" there is a hint of shock on her mom's voice "Paanong kasal na si Charles? Bakit hindi ko ito alam?"

She took a deep breath and told her mom the story, from the very beginning until the end, tahimik na nakinig ang kaniyang ina sa kaniyang kuwento ngunit hindi nakaligtas sa kaniya ang mumunting singhap nito sa gitna ng kaniyang pagsasalita. It was hard for her but she needed to do this because it was already tiring to pretend. She can't hold the situation anymore  so she would better escape.

She told her her mom every single thing and when she said everything that includes her growing feelings for Thomas..

And when she finally was done telling her everything, her mom's curses followed "Ano ang napasok sa utak niyong magkakapatid at ginawa niyo ito. Your brother was just desperate that time you should have known better what was the right thing to do pero anong ginawa mo umayon ka pa sa katangahang iyan! I can't really count on you Veatrice Georgina" she disappoint her mom again and she can't stop herself from sobbing. Parang pinipiga ang puso niya sa sakit .

Pinatayan siya ng ina ng tawag at doon lamang nanghina ang kaniyang mga tuhod at napaluhod sa sahig ng silid.

"So you aren't my Charles?" natigilan si Veatrice sa kaniyang kinaroroonan. Natulos siya habang ang puso ay hindi magkamayaw sa pagtibok.

She slowly turned her head on the door of the room and there she found Yna crying. Hindi nakatakas sa kaniya ang sakit sa mga mata nito. She felt more guilty than before.

"Kaya pala... ang tanga ko... Una palang may kakaiba na sayo pero I was undenial. I should have known." she took a step towards her " Who are you? Why are you pretending to be Charles? Why are you doing this? Why!" Yna shouted at Veatrice.

She couldn't say anything else but sorry "I am so sorry. Sorry Yna.. sorry" again and again. She can't even look at her in the eyes. Nakayuko lamang siyang humihingi ng tawad.

"Damn! I am not asking for your sorry! I am asking you why are you here?! Who really are you!?" Yna shouted at the top of her lungs " I'm begging you please tell me"

But she couldn't even move her clasped hands and she cannot stop herself from sobbing. Ang paulit-ulit na namumutawi sa kaniyang mga labi ay panghingi ng tawad sa babae.

"Yna, why are you shouting in there? We've been waiting for the two of you, kakain na tayo" it was the Don who knocks on the door but neither of them two spoke, they just kept crying.

The door creeks hudyat na pumasok ang Don sa silid "Oh? Charles, why are you kneeling in there? Yna, bakit kayo nag-iiyakan? Is there something wrong between the two of you?"

Mas lumakas ang paghikbi ni Yna
"Don't call her Charles grandpa, she's not Charles, she's an impostor"

" What are you talking about Yna? She?" the moment Veatrice heard Thomas voice, awtomatikong umangat ang kaniyang ulo upang tingnan ang lalaki.

"Maari bang ipaintindi niyong dalawa sa amin ang nangyayari sa inyo, you don't just stood there crying Yna, you must speak para hindi kami nangangapa dito sa kung ano ba talaga ang nangyayari sa inyong dalawa at ikaw Charles stand up and speak like a man" puno ng awtoridad na saad ng Don.

Nanginginig na tumayo si Veatrice mula sa pagkakaluhod. It is already the time to set all things on its right places. And its already the time to run away from this nightmare. You can do this Veatrice, pagkatapos nito maaari ka nang umalis and enjoy your own life. Free yourself already Veatrice.

"Don Scott humihingi po ako ng tawad" this time there is no place for pretension anymore, she stood in front of them as Veatrice and not as Charles. She spoke as Veatrice, feminine and blunt . Nasasaktan parin siya but she felt somewhat at ease "I am Veatrice Georgina Schwager Miller, Charles twin sister, I apologize for the late introduction" isa isa niyang tinapunan ng tingin and Don, si Yna at lalo na si Thomas.

"Then why are you here? Why did you pretend to be your twin brother young lady?" Don Henry calmly asked.

"My brother has a heart illness so he couldn't marry Yna on that set date of marriage, natatakot si Charles na ipapakasal niyo ang pinakamamahal niya sa iba kung hindi sila maipapakasal sa panahong ibinigay mo sa kaniya so he asked me a favor to be on his place for a month or two but everything planned didn't went as what we expected it to become. Charles condition went critical and that he must stay there for a further test" it didn't escape from her sight the worry in Yna's eyes. Charles is indeed a lucky man for having her.

"Is he alright now?" Yna asked all of the sudden, disregarding everything she just found out and rather ask her about her brother's current condition.

"Charles condition is under observation right in the moment but mom told me he is recovering rapidly, I am sorry for fooling you around, I regretted it, please forgive me. Alam kong sa ngayon mahirap pa sa inyo na patawarin ako but still I will wait for that time"

"Tell us where's your brother now so we could pay him a visit" the Don said and then look at Yna "get  yourself up Yna, hindi mo naman siguro gustong makita ka ng asawa mo sa ganyang estado" The Don stated and stormed out of the room and Yna followed leaving her and Thomas in that room.

One thing is for sure from what she heard from Don Henry, Charles is already accepted in the Scott family samantalang siya ay mananatiling impostor sa paningin ng lahat. She felt happy for her twin brother and sad for herself. Gosh, she got emotionally attached by this family.

"Tsk, you are an award winning actress huh, no doubt you fooled everyone" Thomas scoffed. "How did you do that, you perfectly imitate your brother's every moves, even the voice. From how I look at you now, you are just a useless and stupid trash who doesn't have her identity in the society she doesn't belong in"

She look at him and smiled faintly " whatever you say Thomas" saka niya tinalikuran ang binata and when she's about to touch the door knob she turned to him "atleast this stupid and useless trash you are looking at right now fooled you and makes your heart go crazy wasn't I Thomas and oh I made that tantalizing eyes of yours shed a tear. Better keep that in mind SPO3 Scott"

And that's how she came back as Veatrice Georgina Schwager Miller.
