HOGWARTS WAS BUZZING WITH excitement, for the yule ball and just Christmas in general. Everyone was talking about what they were going to wear, who's bringing who, it was chaos.
I was eating breakfast at the Gryffindor table with Fred, George, Lee and Angelina. And we could all barely hear each other over the buzzing of everyone.
"ugh I just remembered I have to stop by the owlery" I groaned rubbing my temples, I was not in the mood to walk all that way,
"I can come with if you'd like" Fred said and I shook my head,
"it's alright you can wait in the hallway or something, I won't be long"
"alright I'll see you in a bit" he replied giving me a short kiss and I smiled as I walked away.
I did in fact take about 10 minutes to get there and back and I walked into the main hallway package in hand.
"hey Mara!"
"hey Adrian, how are you?" I said looking up at him.
"I'm good, you?"
"I'm great" I replied and he smiled,
"I heard you're dating someone that's great" he exclaimed and I smiled,
"yeah I am, thank you" I replied sweetly.
"who's the lucky guy?"
"I don't think you'd believe me if I told you" I teased and he chuckled,
"you're acting as if you're dating a Weasley" he joked but furrowed his eyebrows when he realized I wasn't correcting him,
"oh my-salazar I was kidding I'm so sorry that was a terrible joke" he apologized and I laughed at his concern.
"it's alright Adrian don't worry about it, I'm dating Fred"
"no fucking way, how'd that happen?" he asked with wide eyes,
"it kind of just happened you know? but he's great really" I explained and he nodded,
"well that's great I'm glad you settled down with someone good"
"thank you Adrian I appreciate it"
"it's no problem. and hey at least next time we get dragged along to Europe I won't have to worry about you kissing me yeah?" he joked and my mouth fell open as I hit arm,
"hilarious really"
"I know"
"Happy Holidays, it was great talking to you" I said with an sarcastic smile,
"yeah yeah happy holidays I'll see you later" he replied and I laughed as he walked away. I spotted Fred standing in the hallway as well and smiled walking up to him,
"hey-"
"why were you talking to Pucey?" Fred interrupted me as soon as I up to him and my smile fell,
"what's up with the attitude?"
"I'm only asking why you were talking to him" he said his eyes hardening and I furrowed my eyebrows at his defensive demeanour,
"right because I'm not allowed to talk to my friends?"
"since when are you friends with guys like him?"
"guys like him? what's that rubbish supposed to mean?" I said in disbelief and he pursed his lips,
"you know what I mean"
"I really don't, and I don't understand why I have to tell you what I was talking about with my friend"
"you would have told me if you didn't have anything to hide"
