Chapter 1. The start of our new lives

Piper walked into Studio A with her dog to see her boyfriend dancing really happily. She felt a huge smile come across her face, Piper loves it when she catches Finn dance! "That was amazing!" Piper exclaimed to her boyfriend after he finished dancing, "Thank you baby, and hello other baby!" Finn said when he gently rubs his hands over his girlfriend's stomach, Piper giggled. Piper's been pregnant for a few weeks, she no longer lives at home, she lives with James and Riley at the weekends, (Friday - Sunday because that's when both of them are home all the time to look after her) and the other days of the week, she secretly sleeps under the stairwell in the studio. "You still on for tonight?" Finn asked as he brought his hands around Piper's waist, "Yeah, but are you sure they won't mind?" Piper asks, she knows that she's homeless and 5 weeks pregnant, but she doesn't want to burden Finn and his family. Plus, tonight three years ago is when they adopted Finn, and Finn's told Piper they do something special every year to celebrate it. "Pipes, they love you, they've met you thousands times before." Finn reassured his stressed girlfriend, Piper grabs Finn's hands of her waist to she can hold them, and fidget with his fingers. "I know but -" Finn cut her off with a peck on the lips, which caused Piper's dog Oscar to bark, "No barks-" "Did you just say barks?" Piper asked with a laugh, "That's Oscar's fault, he barked in the middle when I was talking." They both giggled then.

Piper watched her old team rehears, the team know about Piper being pregnant and Finn being the father, and only though they're 16 and 17, their team support them. "Hey." "I hear barking! is Piper here?" Rory, short for Aurora asked. "Yeah Ror, Pipes is here!" Finn exclaimed to his little sister. Finn lives with three girls and two boys, Aurora (but everyone she's close to calls her Rory) is 9, Hannah, is 15, and Lyra's 13. Finn's brothers are called Ash and Blake, who both are 10,they're twins. Even though Finn was the last one that Brynn and David(the parents), adopted, he's 17, making him the oldest. "Hey! We haven't seen you in forever it feels like!" Rory exclaims to her brother's girlfriend, "Can I pet him?" She asks pointing at Oscar, "Of course, is it okay if I take him of his lead? He's been with it all day." Piper asked Finn, "Yeah, of course Pipes." Piper let Oscar of his lead and he went straight to Aurora. Finn hugged her gently from behind before leading her to the couch. "Where are the other's? We're you here alone?" Finn asks his sister, "No, Lyra's upstairs but the other's are out." Rory answered her brother, "Also, mum wanted me to ask you what you wanted to do tonight?" Finn thought as he looked at Piper, interlocking their hands together. "Umm, stay here and order in?" "Don't change your plans just because I'm here Finn." Piper told her boyfriend, before Finn figured out Piper was basically homeless, he had plans in his head for the night. "But Pipes, this is your first night sleeping here, and I don't wanna tire you out." Finn said softly rubbing his girlfriend's stomach gently, Piper gave him a look, "Fine, fine. But we're not staying out late." Piper groaned but agreed nonetheless. Oscar was barking loudly suddenly but the people downstairs realized the front door was opening, "Aurora make sure he doesn't -" to late, Oscar ran to the people who came through the door, "Sorry." Rory apologized,Finn squeezed his sister's shoulders before going to his family. Piper picked Oscar up and told him off for running to the door, but then greeted her self to Finn's family.

Ozzy and Kingston walked into The Next Step, going up the stairs, Kingston spots a small figure sleeping underneath. "Hey Oz." He says quietly, "yeah?" Kingston goes underneath the stair case to see Piper sleeping peacefully, with her dog, the boys look at each other questionably, "You think she's okay?" Ozzy questions, "Of course she's not Ozzy 'cause other wise she would already be in the studio." Kingston whisper snaps, Piper's the early bird, but never as early as Richelle. "We should get Finn" Ozzy suggests, "Now that's the best idea you've had all day." "But it's only 8:30 in the morning." "Exactly." Ozzy rolls his eyes. The two enter studio A to see the team stretching, "Finn!" Kingston calls, "Yeah? Wait have you guys seen Piper? She's never this late?" Ozzy and Kingston look at each other, "Umm, that's why I need you to come." Kingston says, "Is everything okay? What's going on?" Finn questions, "Just follow me." "Okay." Kingston stars running when Finn's next to him. When they're at the top of the stair case, Kingston tells Finn to step on each step quietly, Finn does that. "Did you know about this?" Kingston asks Finn as he points at the sleeping girl, Finn looks at Kingston worriedly, "No, I didn't." Finn bends down next to his girlfriend, Oscar, the dog is awake now, "He looks really skinny, you think she's been feeding him?" Kingston asks, Finn starts petting Oscar, "They have some dog food in The Next Steep, can you get some please?" Finn begs, "Sure but, are you sure they have some?" Kingston asks, "Yeah, Pipes used to feed Oscar they're dog food, and I'm pretty sure Steve has a dog so brings in secret dog food." "Okay, do you remember what she used to feed him?" "If you say it's for Piper, Steve will know what to give you." Kingston nods and stands up, "Wait Kings, if Oscar hasn't been eating neither has Pipes, could you get her a blueberry muffin and a bottle of water please? Here's my wallet." Finn hands Kingston his wallet, Kingston debates that he'll pay for it until Finn gives in. Finn sits crossed legs and Oscar sits in his lap and continue to pet him, one of the blonde's hands goes to Piper's head and starts playing with her hair gently. Piper stirs and Finn immediately takes his hand away, thinking he woke her but he didn't, Oscar barks seeing his owner move. "Shh, Oscar we don't wanna wake her." Finn says softly to the dog, Oscar listens but only because he think Finn's like the dad of the family. His eyes going to her stomach, Finn sees the tiniest bump, he doesn't wanna wake her but him and Kingston have missed half an hour of rehearsal, Finn knows 100% that he won't be going back because he'll be spending the day with Piper but, he feels like he needs to wake her. And then she can sleep again at his, he kisses her head softly, Oscar barks again as he's protecting Piper, and this time Piper wakes. She sits up all confused until she's hears the one person's voice that she didn't want to know her secret, "Baby, what's wrong?" Finn asks, Piper sits back in a scares tone, "Hey, hey it's only me." Oscar gets of off Finn's and goes to Piper, she starts stroking him. Piper doesn't speak and concentrates on her dog, "Pipes, it's okay it's only me. You can tell me what's going on." Finn goes to hold her hand comfortably but Piper doesn't let him, "Sorry I took long the line was massive." Kingston says coming back, sitting next to Finn, Piper looks at Kingston and then at Finn, she's scared, but why? "Piper, we got you some food, you need to eat." The brunet takes the muffin, the water and the dog food. She smiles at the boys, still not wanting to talk. Like she forgotten what it tastes like, she finishes the muffin in minutes, Oscar's the same with his food, but then she goes quite again. "Pipes, baby, what happened?" Finn tries again, " I - I." It's good to hear her voice but, Finn's really worried. "I - I - I, got kicked out." Piper says, with no emotions. "What, why? Is everything okay at home?" Finn asks, trying again to hold her hand, which this time, she lets him. Piper shakes her head 'no' , Piper saw the tears start in Finn's eyes, "baby -" he was cut off, "I'm not fully kicked out, I stay with James and Riley at the weekend." "And the other 5 days?" Kingston asks, "At my aunt's -" "Pipes?" Finn knows she doesn't stay with her aunt, because other wise he wouldn't be down here with her, "Here, it's kind of cosy." She lies, she just wants Finn to believe she's okay, tears start to come from Finn's eyes, "Piper, please just tell us what happened. I wanna make sure that your okay. And if your not I wanna make you okay, okay baby?" Piper nods, "Umm, the other week, more like two weeks ago, i Umm, found out I was pregnant, with your baby Finn and when I told my parents, they threw me out and James said he'd take me in but only on the weekend because him and Riley are too busy during the week." "Pipes." Finn's in disbelief, so is Kingston. "Why didn't you tell me sooner." "I didn't want another person to hate me. Especially not you." Tears start to come down her cheeks, "Pipes, I'll never hate you, okay? And I'm going to be here for you no matter what. And our baby." Piper nods whipping away her tears, "Come here." Finn says bringing his arms out so she can hug him, she goes and hugs him and the couple stay in the embrace for a while.

Piper's talking to Hannah on their way to Finn's room, she's close with all of Finn's siblings but she's closets to Hannah and Aurora, the two girls enter Finn's room so see Finn putting Oscar into the bathroom, "He looked like he needed to go and I thought cleaning it up in the bathroom would be much easier." Piper and Hannah laughed, "Finn! There's people at the door!" Lyra said when coming into her brother's room, "Who?" "I don't know." "Okay, what do they look like?" "Well the woman has short brown curly sort of hair and says she's missing her daughter, and the man has really dark brown hair." Lyra replies, "That's sounds a lot like my parent's." Piper comments worriedly, "If it is we'll get rid of them." Finn says calmly hugging his girlfriend from behind, "I'm the most convincing out of this lot, I could try something?" Lyra suggest, "She is right you know. But only if your okay with that Piper." Hannah says, "I mean you could try but my parents are pretty stubborn. More stubborn then my brother." "Oof, and James is really stubborn." Finn adds. Lyra goes to the door and introduce her selfs to the people, Piper and Finn sit at the stairs and Piper has Oscar in her lap so he doesn't randomly bark, "Hey, I'm Lyra and you are?" "Oh I'm Deborah and this is my husband Austin." The woman replies, Piper tenses and Finn holds her hand to calm her, "Um Lyra go get your brother and tell him we're gonna go soon." Brynn, the kids mum say. "Okay but you know how I am with new people mum, always up for a friendly chat. If that's okay." Lyra speaks, "Okay but after then." Lyra nods to her mum but Brynn stays close, "So uh, does a boy name Finn live here? Our daughter used to, well I don't know if she still does date a boy named Finley Oliver? This is the address she gave us one time when she slept over once." "No, no Finley Oliver here, sorry but it looks like you got the wrong address." Deborah looks at her husband, "Alright kid give it up." Austin said firmly, "Give what up?" "The act! I know your lying and that my daughter is here." Lyra wasn't getting through to this man which is the first time, "Listen, my name is Lyra Rose Martin, Martin, not Oliver. So you have the wrong house, I'm sorry!" Lyra exclaims, "Wait Austin didn't Piper mention that Finn lives with an adoptive family?" Deborah asked Austin, "Yeah well that's because a family will never really love him enough to take him in for life." Austin answered with, "You are so wrong!" Lyra stood up to her brother, Piper stood up, going to argue with her parents forgetting that Oscar was on her lap, he raced down the stairs, Finn stopped Piper from going anyway. "Ah, a piece of evidence that your lying." Austin says while picking up the dog, "Stop accusing my daughter of lying and give us our dog back!" Brynn steps in, Austin scoffs but gives Oscar back, the dog barks at him but not as nice and as friendly as usually, "Come on, Osc." Lyra said going into the living room, "If you'll leave it'd be much appreciated and I won't call the cops." "We're on our way, sorry we stoped by." Deborah said calmly, Brynn shut the door with a slam with annoyance, "Brynn, who was that?" David, her husband asked entering the living room, Piper and Finn entered hand in hand, Piper has a scared expression on her face. "Piper's parents." "Oh honey it's okay we got rid of them, okay?" Brynn said softly to her son's girlfriend, Piper nods but starts crying.

The family celebrated having adopted Finn for three years by watching the new Hotel Dystopia movie, getting ice cream and going to Piper's baby appointment.
