chapter 6. happy to see you

Finn's been sitting in the uncomfortable hospital chair holding Piper's hand for a week now. It must of been more then just a faint if she hasn't woken by now, but he prays every night in his head that they haven't lost the baby and that she's okay. He's out of songs to sing to her softly, so he came up with more just for her. His cheeks are stained with tears, he hasn't gone anywhere, only for food and the bathroom but only when James visits. Amy visits every day, she didn't hit Finn this time like she did when he broke up with her best friend, but now she prays that Piper will be okay.

It must of been a Friday after noon because James was visiting, he comes everyday at 12:30 to 5:45pm, because that's when visiting times end. Finn doesn't go home though, the doctor's have learnt that Finn is so stubborn when they ask him to leave, he wouldn't budge and he's been sitting on the chair since she came into the hospital room.
Piper's eyes fluttered open, she looks to her stomach to see if her baby's okay, she really hopes it is. She then moves her head to her boyfriend, she smiles softly at him, "Finn?" Piper says quietly, Finn looks up in surprise, a soft expression on his face, "Pipes?" Finn says gently, standing up, one of his hands going to her forehead, the other going to her stomach "How you feeling?" He asks softly, kissing her forehead, "Okay." Piper said shakily, "I need to tell a doctor your awake okay baby?" Finn says, Piper nods, but with an expression on her face telling Finn not to go anywhere. "I won't leave you, I'll tell James okay, I'll stay with you."

Piper's laying down on the bed as the doctor has the jelly on her to check her baby, her hand interlocked with Finn's. "Is the baby okay?" Piper asked, turning to her doctor, she doesn't answer, but leaves a worried expression on her face. "Umm, I don't know how to say this." Piper feels bad news coming, so when Finn feels his hand breaking, he takes his hand out and steps closer to her, kissing her forehead, brushing her hair with his hand, and gently placing hand on her stomach. "I'm very sorry to say this but you lost one of the babies." tears immediately come from Piper's, Finn sits down next to her on the hospital bed to comfort his girlfriend, she berries her head on his chest and sobs, "It's okay baby, it's gonna be okay." Finn says softly, rubbing her arm when his head is on top of her's, beginning to cry, "Somehow, somehow baby." Finn added, crying harder. The couple cried in each other's arms until the sound of the door opens, "hey, what's going on?" He asks softly, "Umm." Piper says trying to wipe her tears but more keep coming, Finn moves so he's behind her on the bed and gently pulls her into his arms again, he never wants to let her go again. The doctor asks to see James in the hall.

James goes out in the hall with the doctor so he can understand why his little sister is crying in her boyfriend's arms, "What's going on?" James asks while motioning his head towards the door before looking at the doctor, "I just told them some bad news." James freezes, "What-what kind of bad news?" He knows, he already knows, but he wants to be wrong, for the first time. "They lost one of the babies, I'm really sorry." James puts his hands on his forehead, the over his mouth in shock. Like going back in time, James questions, "Wait, did you just say one of the babies? Twins, they were having twins?"
Entering back in the room where sister is, to see her asleep, head on Finn's chest, him holding her tight, not letting his eyes drop even though he's clearly tired. "Finn, go asleep. I'll be here if she wakes up before you." Finn gives his girlfriend's brother a stern look and a violent shake of the head. "Finn." James says but a little to loudly that it makes Piper stir and open her eyes. "What's going on?" Piper asks in her sleepy voice, before Finn could speak, James butted in, "Finn won't go asleep." she turned her head toward's her boyfriend, placing a hand gently on his cheek, "You need to sleep buba, okay?" Piper suggested softly, Finn kissed her lips then, "Okay, but only for you." and another kiss after he spoke, "Before you do, I don't think you put the puzzle together from what I said earlier, but I need to tell you something." Doctor Sam said, both of their attention is focused on Sam now, "I have a sonogram for you, and if you have a look, you'll be able to spot something." She said giving the picture to Piper, she held it in a position so her and Finn can both see it. Finn spotted it immediately, and berried his head in Piper's shoulder, the brunet turned her head, "What?" She asks, Finn took his head out of her shoulder, helping his girlfriend find what he found, and rubbing her stomach gently. "They were twins?" Piper asked surprised, "Yeah." Finn said softly to her, Piper then turned her full attention to Finn,he kisses  her sweetly for a few moments.

Hearing the key in the door, Aurora runs down the stairs to see a half happy brother and his girlfriend, "Hey." "Hey Ror, can you get mum please?" Finn asks, "Is everything okay? What happened at the hospital?" "Can you just get her please?" Finn snapped, Piper was still crying but not as hard anymore, Finn leads her to the couch, she sits on his lap, Aurora stops half way on the stairs to hear the conversation, "Pipes, it's gonna be okay." "Stop saying that!" Piper exclaimed, "Finn, we lost one of our babies because of me." Rory's eyes widened at that, "Hey, it is not your fault!" "Yes it is! your not the one carrying the babies, or baby." Finn kissed her deeply then, and like him, it calmed Piper right away.
Opening her brother's room where her mum was, Ash looked up to see his little sister all freaked, "Hey, you looked freaked, what happened?" Blake asked worldly stepping closer to comfort her, "Finn... Piper, baby." Ash and Blake look at each other worriedly, "What happened?" "I don't know!" Aurora yells, "Okay, okay -" "Where's mum?" Rory asks, "In with Lyra and Hannah I believe. Girl problems." Ash said, and with that Aurora rush to her sister's room. "I always tell you to Knock!" Hannah yells, "I'm sorry but Finn needs mum!" "Well she's with me at the moment!" Hannah argues back, "Han, I'll be back, do you know why Finn needs me?" Brynn asks her youngest daughter, "No but Piper's crying and Finn is a little bit, and they talked about the baby and - and it just freaked me out." Rory said freaking out, "Finn's crying? He never cries." Lyra said, "He cried when he wasn't with her -" before Hannah could continue, she was interrupted by her younger sister, "Brynn can you come please!" "Aurora I'll come, I'll be back with you Hannah in a minute." When Brynn was out of Hannah and Lyra's room, Hannah said, "It's not fair! She's always here for everyone else apart from me!" Hannah exclaims, "Well have you ever lost a child?!" Aurora exclaims, "No but she's in a middle of a break - wait did you just say lost a child?" Lyra asks worriedly now, "Yeah, from what I heard they lost the baby." The two older girls look at each other worriedly.
