chapter 18. dancing with another team

Nationals!

Nationals has finally arrived! And for the first time in her life, Piper's more excited then nervous. "Alright team, let's do this!" Ms.Willow said to her team as they enter the building. Piper and Finn's hands are interlocked as always, " It feels strange being back here." Piper says, "I know right, but in a good way." Finn adds. The team sign up and find out there is a scavenger hunt they have to do, "How many dancers do we need?" Ms.Willow asks, "Three for the scavenger hunt, and your finished when your finished or when your first dancer's performing." The person at the registration desk explains, Ms.Willow gives her thanks and moves her team to the side, "So, who wants to do this scavenger hunt?" She asks, Chase, Olivia and Piper ride their hands. "Alright so you three will do the scavenger hunt, and meet us either at café, but if we're not there, we'll be in our seats. Got it?" The three nod and the rest head of with their studio head, but not before Finn gives Piper a goodbye kiss.

"So what's the first clue?" Olivia asks the group, Chase is reading the card to the girls, and they've just entered a small room with costumes on a rack, "Okay so, it's a riddle-" Chase starts, "So who has blue eyes, blonde hair and has the cutest smile?" Chase has a little crush on Olivia, and Olivia has one on him too. But only Piper knows that. "My boyfriend. Let me read it." Piper says laughing while taking the card, "Hey I was working on something. I was trying to impress Liv." Chase admits, "Liv, you impressed?" Piper asks her best friend, "A little." Olivia admits, "And when did I give you the permission to call me 'Liv'?" Chase just rolls his eyes annoyingly but jokingly, whilst Piper gave Olivia a knowing smile. Once they figured the actual riddle out, Piper heard voices she thought she would never hear again. "Uh guys can we-" she starts but is interrupted, "So it looks like one of you two has to wear one of-" Summer stops as she sees her former team mate, Summer, Amy and Henry are on the scavenger hunt for TNS. "Hey." Summer says nervously, "Hi." Piper says, backing up, Amy gives her ex best friend a look and then says, "No chance you guys have figure this out?" Raising her eyebrows, "Actually-" Olivia starts but Chase cuts her off, "Guys, Oliver's about to perform, we need to get back." "Yeah, hope to see you at the end. Not." Amy says coldly then turning back to Summer and Henry. "Pipes, let's go." Olivia says, gently grabbing her best friend's wrist.

They enter the the backstage of the giant room to see their team in the wings, "Finn." Piper says to get her boyfriend's attention, "Oh hey baby." Finn says as he turns around, "Did you guys complete all of the quests?" Finn asks, "Not exactly buba. We bumped into Summer, Henry and Amy and then Chase got the text that we had to come back." Finn ignores Piper and kisses her softly, Piper feels her smile grow. As the kiss continues, Olivia and Chase give each other a smile, a knowing one, like they know what they're thinking. "Guys, Oliver's going on. You can kiss later." Alyssa announced making everyone laugh.
Oliver made their team go to the next round, making the team's spirits go way up!

Female solos have gone and the team won again, it only went through Piper once that she'll be competing against her old team, her old family but you know what, she's ready. The opening Nationals party is about to start, Piper, Olivia and Alyssa are getting ready in their hotel room and then they're walking to were the party is. "Okay no I do not like him like that!" Olivia exclaims to her best friends, they're talking about Olivia's crush on Chase. "Please Liv! Did you not see the way he changed the riddle earlier, and got annoyed when I took it from him?" Piper said, "Wait what did he change it to?" Alyssa asked, "Instead of the actual riddle he said, 'Who has blue eyes, blonde hair and the cutest smile.' He then asked if he impressed her." Piper explained, "Okay Liv he totally likes you! And you totally like him I mean come on, your blushing!" Alyssa speaks, "I'm not telling you guys how I feel okay?" Olivia says annoyed, Piper and Alyssa roll their eyes, "I got it!" Alyssa then shouts, "What do you 'have'?" Olivia asks, sitting at the end of the bed air quoting the word 'have'. "1st thing, I saw the way you two looked at each other when Piper and Finn kissed earlier. And secondly, if you don't kiss him tonight-" "Wait what? Me kissing Chase, no chance!" Olivia says with a nervous laugh, "Come on, I saw the way how you wanted to kiss him earlier!" Alyssa exclaims, "Okay fine maybe but neither of you tell a soul!" Piper and Alyssa smile, "But I'm not kissing him. At least not tonight." Olivia adds making Alyssa and Piper groan and laugh.

When the girls get there, Piper sees Chase with Finn, "Come on, he's over with Finn." Piper says to her best friend, Olivia changed her mind on the way over that she does want to ask Chase out, "Woah, hold up. I'm not ready." Olivia exclaimed quietly, gently pulling Piper back. "Liv, you are okay? And I'll be there for you like I always am, just be brave about it -" Piper then gets quiet and whispers, "And who know you might actually have that kiss you won't later." Olivia gives her a look and a roll of the eyes, "Fine, but your coming with me."
Chase is super nervous, he's told Finn that he wants to ask Olivia out but, he doesn't know where her head's at. "How hard was it for you to ask Piper out?" Chase asks Finn, at the table they're at at the party. "Honestly not that hard." Finn says, "Really?" Chase questions, "No it was over a year when we finally got together." "A year? Wait so I have to like Liv for a year and ask her out a million times before she says yes?" Chase panics, "Dude, that was only me. You won't have to wait a year, but besides it was honestly worth it." Finn admits, "She's coming over!" Chase says panic again, "Chill man, it's good." Finn tries to calm one of his best friends, "It's good? How do you kn- hey Piper, Liv." Chase changed his voice of tone when the girls arrive, "Hey babe." Finn greets his girlfriend, "Hello Buba." Piper says looking into those eyes she loves so much. Piper's wearing a red dress with a belt, so Finn's hands find her belt and pull her closer and connect their lips.  A few moments later they separate, but Piper has a panicked look on her face, "Baby, what's wrong?" Finn asks, Piper doesn't respond but just looks around the room and Finn immediately knows. "It's okay, come here." Finn says opened armed, Piper hugging her boyfriend tight. "It's okay, baby. It's okay, we'll get fresh air." Finn says softly, rubbing his girlfriend's back. After Piper pulls away from Finn, she interlocks their hands and head outside.

Once outside, Piper lets out a deep breath she didn't know she was holding. "Hey, it's okay. There's no people out here." Finn reassured the brunet, sitting down at two abounded chairs, Finn sits in one of them and brings Piper to his lap. Piper cuddles into him, like he's her life line, "It's okay baby, I got you. I got you I'm here." Finn sooths, as quiet sobs come from his girlfriend. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry Finn." Piper says as she pulls her head away from Finn's chest, but stay in his arms. "You have nothing to be sorry about okay? I love you, and so does Molly, the team and James and Leah. We all love you so, so, so much okay baby?" Piper's told Finn that she's been feeling like no one really likes, or loves her recently, "I love you too but you don't have to say you do just to make me happy." Piper says, "Hey, I love you because I do. I mean, your the most beautifullest, gorges, cutest person I know. And the best dancer, I don't know how anyone could never not love you Pipes. I love you so much, since we were best friends." Piper smiles sweetly, wiping her tears away, "I love you too, since we we're best friends as well." Finn smiles widely, then gently pulls her in for a kiss. 
"What did I tell you about kissing my sister?!" They hear from behind, they turn around to see James, Luke, Theo and John. "What are you guys doing here?" Piper asks, hugging her brother. "We're performing at the open party. You didn't do the scavenger hunt?" James asks his little sister when they pull out of the hug, "Me, Olivia and Chase did, but it didn't click that it was your band is playing." Piper said with a small laugh, "Why are you out here anyways?" James asking another question, "Anxiety stuff but I talked to Finn and I'm okay now." Piper tells her brother truthfully, "You sure?" Piper nods her head, interlocking her hand with Finn's. "Thanks for the help James!" Luke says sarcastically, struggling with some of the equipment. The three laugh, then going to help the band bring the things in.

Finn and her brother are her therapy when she's away from home. James's music, jokes and presence(now that she's made up with him), really calm her down. For Finn though, it's, his hoodies, cuddles and kisses. Piper loved her brother, boyfriend and her new team, which isn't really new since she's been at the studio for half a year now but, she loves them like a family. But she loves Molly and Finn more of course!
