chapter 8. our little girls

It's been a while since Finn and Piper got to the hospital, Piper was sent straight to a room. The couple found out the pains she's having are contractions and they come every 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Because it was the middle of the night, the couple couldn't get a private room, so they're in a connecting one which Piper's really not happy about. Finn's sings softly to her when her contractions come, but only if there isn't a doctor in the room. Piper's friendly with the woman their sharing the room with, they've actually become friends.

"So do you guys know the gender of your baby?" Dakota, the woman their sharing the room with asks, "Yeah, we're having a girl." Piper answers, Dakota smiles, "You two look young, how old are you and I won't judge if your really young."  Dakota said in surrender, Finn and Piper looked at each other, and Piper nodded, "Well Pipes turned 17 yesterday and and I turn 18 in a few months." Finn answered honestly, "Oh, well happy belated birthday Piper!" Mike, Dakota's husband said, "Thank you!" Piper smiled, but then groaned, "Contraction?" Finn asked stupidly, "Yes of course it is Finn!" Piper yelled in frustration, he started singing but Piper slapped his chest, "Okay Pipes just breathe, breathe, there you go." Finn said calming her, sitting next to her on the bed, taking her hand in his. "Will it hurt more just because of what happened?" Piper asked Finn, "Maybe, but baby don't think of it that way okay? Just think of it how in a few or a lot of hours, we'll have our baby girls and we can put one at rest." Finn said in a sad tone, Piper nodded before saying, "I love you buba." "I love you too baby." Finn said before kissing her passionately twice.

10 minutes after Mike and Dakota went to have their baby, Finn was laying on the hospital bed, Piper laying on his chest. Finn rubbed his hands on her stomach gently, "Hey." He heard when the door opened, from Brynn. Her, David and Aurora came in, "Hey!" Piper said sleepily, "How's baby M and baby B doing?" Aurora asked, "Baby M and baby B?" Piper questioned, "You know, baby Molly and baby Bella? Finn told us the names you were thinking of." Piper smiled sweetly at that, "That's cute-" Piper said dozing of but Finn had to keep her awake, "Hey, hey, hey, hey, Pipes you need to stay awake." Finn reminded her and Piper sat up properly. "I'm awake." She says making Aurora giggle, "Hey, we totally forgot." "Forgot what?" Piper asked her boyfriend, "The names, for our babies?" "Oh yeah, we totally forgot." Brynn and David looked at each other worriedly both thinking, 'did they forget what happened.' "Finn, Piper you do remember what happened right?" David asked nervously, the pair looked at him, "Oh yeah, of course we do but Pipes thinks it would be rude not to name both of them you know?" Finn said, brushing his thumb over his girlfriend'a knuckles. The couple talked about names and even let Rory help, she chose the name Reese and both Finn and Piper really like that name.

"Hey." James and Leah said coming into the room, it's now 6 in the morning and Piper has been in labor for 5 and a half hours and she's hating it. "Hey." She replies to her siblings in a mood, "Woah, someone's in a mood." Leah laughs as she sits next to her brother, "Well I don't see two tables coming out of your-" "Woah! I'm gonna need you to stop right there!" James exclaims, "Pipes, babe, their babies, not tables." Finn reminds Piper, "You don't know. Your not giving birth." Piper says, Finn kisses her lips softly to calm her down, when they break apart Piper gets yet another, contraction, "Finn, it's happening again." "Okay, you know what to do just breathe." Finn says, "Piper breathe!" Finn exclaims, the brunet let's out a deep breath at the end of it, "Contraction?" James asks, all he gets is the middle finger from his little sister, Finn grabs her hands and says, "He was just asking okay? -" before he continued the doctor came in, "Hey- new people, who are you?" the doctor asks, "Oh I'm James and this is Leah, we're Piper's older siblings." James answers, "Oh okay well I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to leave now because -" the doctor turns to the couple and says, "Your dilated 10cm, it's time." Piper sighs and smiles out of relief and so does Finn, he kisses her before getting of the bed.

They've gone to a private room and Piper's starting to panic, "Finn, what if I can't give birth, what if the other one dies while I give birth and their both dead and it's all my fault and-" Finn kneels down on both of his knees and takes her hands in his tightly, "Pipes, the things that's happened are not your fault. And what you just said won't happen okay? I'm here for you Piper." Finn says softly, she nods before Finn kisses her forehead. "It's time to start pushing now Piper okay?" The doctor says, "Okay." Piper breathes, "You got this!" Finn supports her, standing up to help her sit up, she takes one look at Finn before pushing.
After pushing for around a minute, they start to hear cries, Piper's face relaxes for a moment as she sees the doctor and one of her babies, she smiles widely as Finn starts crying. "Oh buba." She chuckles, she gets to hold her for a few moment before the doctor announces, "Piper it's time for you to push again." the tired 17 year old groans as she hands her baby over to one of the nurses in the room, "Like you did before Pipes, push and breathe." Finn says. This time they didn't hear anything, but they saw a beautiful baby girl who looks healthy but the pair know she's not. This time Piper starts crying, "You did it Pipes, I'm so proud of you." Finn exclaims but Piper ignores him, "Can I hold them?" Piper asks, "Of course but this one only for a few minutes okay?" the doctor says as she hands Piper over her dead baby, Finn holds the one that's crying. "Ssshh." He soothes her, "Baby look, it's our girls." Finn says softly tearing up again, "Yeah, and I already miss this one so much." Piper says, gently putting her forehead against her daughter's "Do we have any names?" Piper looks up and answers, "Yeah." "Wanna switch? She'll still be close." Finn says and Piper nods, they switch and the baby Finn was holding immediately stops crying once in Piper's arms, she smiles and chuckles, "Hey." Piper says gently, softly going to hold her baby's hand, the baby then wraps her finger around Piper's thumb making her melt, "Shall we give them names now?" Finn asks with tears down his cheeks, "Yeah, we should shouldn't we." Piper answers also crying, "What names have you two picked?" The nurse asked, trying to distract them from the fact she'll be taking one of the baby's away from them soon, "Oh uh, we landed on Molly Grace Oliver - Parker, and Bella Reese Oliver - Parker." Finn answers, looking back down at his silent daughter. "Which one are we going to name Molly and the other one Bella?" Piper asks Finn, "It's up to you." He says kissing her forehead.

They cried as the doctor took their baby away, the worse moment and feeling in both of their lives. Finn let Piper hold Molly again, he passed her gently into her arms and hugged her gently, they decided on which baby they were going to name which name. "Hey Molly." Piper says gently to her daughter, "I love you so much and I won't let anything happen to you ever." Finn loves the bond Piper and Molly have already, "Hey Molly, I'm your dad. And I'm going to protect you for ever, and I'll always be here." Finn said through tears. "We love you and that's all that matters." Finn adds. They can't believe it, but they know they can do it, be parents. Not just parents, parents at 17, but the best they can be. For Molly Grace Oliver - Parker.
