"I don't understand why I have to sit in the back seat," Y/n shook her head, leaning in the back seat of the car.
"If you keep complaining, I'm going to make you complain about your legs hurting in the morning," Five snapped, turning around to look at her before turning back to look out the front of the car.
Y/n refrained herself from widening her eyes. "Is that a promise?" she asked snarkily, leaning forward between the two front seats. Five shrugged, looking out his window as Luther stopped the car.
"I thought that you two said you weren't-"
"We don't fuck Luther. Calm your tits. It was a joke," Y/n sighed, leaning back in the seat again.
Five unbuckled his seatbelt, and sighed as there was a few moments of silence. He sighed again, looking at Luther. "You know, I never enjoyed it," he stated.
"What?" Luther asked, turning to Five.
"The killing," Five deadpanned, turning to look forwards. "I mean, I was- I was good at my work, and I- I took pride in it." He turned back to Luther, "But it never gave me pleasure." He sighed, looking forwards again and shaking his head slightly. "I think it was all those years alone. Solitude can do funny things to the mind."
"Yeah, well you were gone for such a long time," Luther said. "I only spent four years on the moon, but that was more than enough. It's the being alone that breaks you." Luther sighed and paused. "You think they'll buy it?" he asked, messing with the fake Commission briefcase on the center console.
"Probably," Y/n sighed.
"I do know that they're desperate," Five stated. "It's like a cop losing his gun."
They don't have it, they're dead meat.
"If the Commission finds out, they'll be in deep shit," Five stated. "Well, not to mention the fact that they'll be stuck here until they get it back."
"Well, I should hold onto it," Luther said.
"Hm?" Five turned to Luther.
"In case they make a move on you."
"What about me, ape man?" Y/n asked from the back seat.
"Five may trust you, but I don't. So, I'm holding the briefcase," Luther stated bluntly.
There's no way that Five trusts me.
"Okay, Luther, but be careful," Five said, turning to Luther. "I mean, I've- I've lived a long life, but you're still a young man. You got your whole life ahead of you. Don't waste it." He turned forwards, leaning and looking out the windshield. He sighed and hummed boredly.
"Is that them?" Y/n asked as they heard a car coming and saw headlights come over the hilled road.
"Yep," Five nodded. "Here we go."
They all turned, opening their car doors before stepping out of the car. Y/n got out on the same side as Luther had. After closing the door, she leaned her back up against it and sighed. Five walked around the back of the car and stood near the trunk. As the car started pulling up towards them, Y/n looked down at her wrist and started messing with the watch.
The car came to a stop a ways in front of them. Five sighed, walking over to Luther, "If this all goes sideways, do me a favor and tell Delores I'm sorry."
It's a damn mannequin.
The car doors opened, causing the three of them to look over as Hazel and Cha-Cha got out of the car. Five glanced at Luther, then nodded to Y/n as a gesture for her to come with him.
