A Hero's Journey - Mysterion's Story

Chapter 17

  Mysterion ran over to Ikari and was about to jump on him, but then a shadow flashed past him and took him down, he opened his eyes, it was Eisu. Eisu pinned Mysterion down and signed something to Ikari. Mysterion noticed that Mosquito and Ikari had stopped fighting and went over to him, so did Super Craig.

"What were you doing to Mosquito?" Mysterion asked gruffly.

"We were just training; don't worry I wasn't trying anything on your friend" Ikari said.

Eisu released her grip on him and signed to Ikari,

"Eisu says sorry for the misunderstanding," Ikari interpreted.

"No, I'm sorry for reacting that way, it's just hard for me to trust new people," Mysterion said getting up.

Mysterion looked over at Ikari then said,

"You guys should train more, but you're coming with me Ikari," Mysterion said pointing to him.

Ikari looked over at Eisu, and then she nodded. Ikari followed Mysterion to a quiet spot where they could train. They both bowed, then Ikari charged, Mysterion blocked it and pushed him off. Mysterion ran behind him, but Ikari had turned around just in time and blocked it. Mysterion decided to ask more about him and Eisu.

"So how old are you and Eisu?" Mysterion said as both their swords clashed.

"I'm 20, and Eisu is turning 20 next month, what about you mate?" Ikari responded.

"Me and Mosquito are both 13 and Craig's 14. You said you were forced into the army, what do you mean by that?" Mysterion said while ducking.

Mysterion charged this time, but Ikari moved out of the way. Mysterion turned around and blocked his sword.

"Well I wasn't exactly forced, my parents are very well known people, and they wanted me to do something productive instead of 'wasting' my time with studies, so they enlisted me into the army. They said I could come back if I did anything useful," Ikari said grinding his teeth.

Ikari ducked and tried to swipe him off his feet, but Mysterion jumped in time.

"So do you have any special abilities then mate?" Ikari said clashing his sword with Mysterion's.

Mysterion still didn't know if Ikari was a spy or not, but he seemed pretty trustworthy.

"I'm immortal," Mysterion said blocking Ikari off with his sword.

Ikari froze in amazement, Mysterion took this chance as an advantage and swiped Ikari down with his legs. Ikari fell down and Mysterion pointed his sword at his neck.

"You have the same look on your face the day my friends found that out," Mysterion said in amusement.

Mysterion put his sword aside and reached out his hand,

"Why wouldn't I? That's so cool" Ikari said grabbing Mysterion's hand.

"Sure...well we should start heading to the headquarters now, shouldn't we?" Mysterion said walking back to the cave.

Ikari grabbed his sword and followed him, when they had reached the cave, they found Super Craig and Mosquito talking about plans while drinking tea, Eisu was just sitting with them listening, and quietly sipping on some tea. After Mysterion and Ikari grabbed their bags, they all started walking to their next destination.
