A Hero's Journey - Mysterion's Story

Chapter 18

(NOTE: LONG CHAPTER AHEAD, this is where a lot of action happens so there's alot of description)

                              

                   On their walk to the headquarters Mosquito and Super Craig explained their plans to Ikari and Mysterion. After that, Super Craig and Mosquito told the two about their abilities, and Ikari started complementing them about it, and even though Mosquito was hiding it, Mysterion and Super Craig both knew that he was smiling like a manic on the inside. Mysterion had also explained about them having to retrieve objects in order to defeat The Ruthless Fox. They had reached a small grassy cliff with a few trees and lots of shriveled up flowers. In front of the cliff was the Kizuato Headquarters, which was a ginormous building with walls that looked like it was made out of steel glass. The cliff was small but a bit rocky at the bottom, so they decided to go around instead. They had discussed a plan that they all agreed to. Since Eisu and Ikari used to be a part of the Kizuato, the guards might recognize them, so they could explain to the guards a fake story about them having to run away from Tigeral's (a giant half tiger and part sabretooth beast ) then the guards would be distracted, and Mysterion, Mosquito, and Super Craig would enter the building. Mysterion would find the file with Yui's help, while Super Craig and Mosquito would create a diversion that would remove guards from their positions, giving Mysterion more areas to search. After Mysterion got the file he would tell his allies over the walkie-talkie Ikari had given him and his friends, and they would all run to a shelter nearby where Eisu knew they would lose the guards chasing them. If their plan didn't work out, they always had a plan B. Ikari and Eisu had walked over to the guards while Mysterion and Mosquito were hiding in the bushes and Super Craig was covered by the trees. There wasn't much plants nearby and it was mostly cement all around, Mysterion had wondered why the building was out in the open where anyone could attack them. Ikari said that the Ruthless Fox had made lots of other territory markings in lots of other places, so they decided to but the building in a more deserted place, and no one would probably dare attack somewhere with Kizuato guards. Mysterion couldn't hear exactly what Ikari was saying to the guards, but he looked like he was struggling to get their attention, so Eisu signed something to the guards that immediately took their attention. Mysterion saw that the guards were distracted, so he signaled Mosquito and Super Craig to follow him. They both went into the automatic moving door and hid behind an empty desk.

"That was easier than I thought," Mysterion whispered.

"Think again" Yui replied.

Mysterion peeked up from the desk to see that there were a bunch of guards around the place. He needed to go up the stairs but there were guards blocking the way. Mosquito shot one of ranged attacks the group of guards causing most of them to fall.

"NOW" Mosquito shouted.

Super Craig and Mosquito ran out of the desk and started charging at the guards, the guards yelled something in a language Mysterion didn't understand then lunged at Mosquito and Super Craig. Mysterion checked the stairway and didn't see anyone.

"There's someone behind you" Yui spoke.

A hand grabbed him from behind and gripped him hard, he turned around it was a guard. The guard yelled something in the language. Mysterion bit the guard's hand and stamped on the guard's foot hard. The guard let go and shouted in pain. Mysterion ran as fast as he could to the top of the stairs. He saw another guard run after him and started running faster, but the guard and grabbed his arm before he could set foot on the next flight of stairs. Mysterion elbowed the guard in the gut, the guard winced in pain but didn't let go of Mysterion. Suddenly half of the second floor collapsed, taking down the guard. It was one of Mosquito's ranged attacks, he had blasted it, blocking the entrance to the stairs, making sure no one could follow him.

"GO QUICKLY" Super Craig yelled.

Mysterion ran up the flight of stairs all the way to the 4th floor, he heard the intercom say, "BACK UP! We need back up on the first floor!" Mysterion hid behind some boxes, while some guards ran down the stairs.

"Coast is clear, go to the door with a checkered window" Yui directed him.

Mysterion walked over to the hall in front of him and found the checkered door. Mysterion looked through the checkered window, there was a guard sitting down on an office chair. Mysterion used the key and opened the door quickly, the guard got up and lunged at him, but Mysterion had grabbed his gun just in time, and shot the guard, the guard fell down bleeding and Mysterion walked over to the center of the room. It looked exactly like a post office but dustier and gloomier. Mysterion stared at the hundreds of P.O boxes in front of him,

"Don't worry you won't have to go through all those, go to the right and you'll find a silver cabinet, the file should be in one of those," Yui explained.

Mysterion sighed in relief, it would have taken hours to go through all of the P.O boxes. He walked over to the silver cabinet in the right corner. He tried opening the silver cabinet, but it didn't budge, he tried putting the key through, but it didn't fit.

"The key must be with the guard, try checking his pockets" Yui advised.

Mysterion went back to the dead guard lying on the floor, and checked his pockets, he found a bundle of keys.

"Which one is the right one?" Mysterion asked.

"The gold one" Yui answered.

"There are ten gold ones" Mysterion spat.

Mysterion walked back to the silver cabinets with the bundle of keys and tried some of the gold keys, they didn't fit, there were 4 gold keys left that Mysterion hadn't used yet. He heard some footsteps coming, he quickly put in each key, and the cabinet finally opened. Mysterion heard yelling coming near him. There were many different colored files, he checked through all of them, then he saw one labeled 'Kosuke Bloodworth.' Mysterion grabbed the file and looked for ways to get out without going through the door. Suddenly he heard the door slam open, and a group of guards came through. They pointed their guns at him and Mysterion froze, a guard yelled something in that language and Mysterion guessed it meant "hand over the file."

"Run to the left" Yui told him.

"What, why?" Mysterion whispered.

The ceiling started to rumble. Pieces of the top started crumbling down. Mysterion ran to the left as Yui said, and the guards took a step back while pointing their guns at the falling ceiling. A giant chunk of the ceiling fell, and a rope hung down. Mysterion saw a head pop out of the giant hole it was Ikari,

"Hurry up mate!" he shouted.

Mysterion grabbed the rope tightly and Ikari started pulling him up, Mysterion was halfway up when the guards started shooting at him, bullets went past him, but none of them shot him directly, until a bullet shot through his arm, Mysterion shouted in pain, and let go of the file, but he still clung on the rope. Mysterion reached the top of the building and saw his friends up there as well, they rushed over to him, bandaging his arm. He saw Eisu stare at the file lying back under them. Eisu jumped into the hole, Ikari was going to grab her arm before she could go back, but she was too fast. Eisu grabbed the file before the guards could reach it.

"E-eisu?" one of the guards exclaimed.

Eisu looked up and her eyes widened.

"Give us back the file Eisu, you don't know what you're doing," the guard spat.

He signaled the other guards to point their guns down, and they did. The guard walked over to Eisu and reached out his hand. Eisu held the file close to her, looked at Ikari then handed the file back to the guard.
