A Hero's Journey - Mysterion's Story

Chapter 23

"Tie him up, after we get what we need, he'll take us to the Kingdom," Mysterion said handing some ropes to super Craig.

"WHAT? NO! I am not going, and that is final," the guard spat.

Super Craig had already tied the guard's hands tightly, so there wasn't any use escaping now. Mysterion got up.

"Would you really rather die?" Mysterion asked.

"...No" the guard mumbled.

"Will you betray us in any way possible if we take you?" Mysterion questioned.

The guard took a deep breath in and out.

"I really would but that dude over there has too powerful attacks that even I wouldn't be able to handle, and it scares me a bit" the guard blurted out looking directly at Mosquito.

"H-him?" Super Craig said in disbelief pointing to Mosquito.

"M-me?" Mosquito stuttered in amazement.

The guard nodded looking away embarrassed.

"SOMEONE FINALLY TAKES ME SERIOUSLY" Mosquito said bouncing in the air full of cheerfulness.

"Tell us more about yourself" Super Craig told the guard.

"I'm Aoi, one of the top guards in the army" the guard said proudly.

Ikari and Eisu looked at him in disbelief, then they started walking towards the mountains.

"Woohoo let's go" Mosquito said skipping away happily.

They traveled towards the more mountainous areas over the valleys. As they were walking, Mysterion noticed some daffodils growing nearby, which reminded him of the same ones in the city. 

I wonder how Kyle and Bradley are doing...Mysterion thought feeling a bit homesick.

 After a while they had reached high ground near some mountains, there was a small crack on the mountain that look like there was a tunnel inside, they could be able to find a Byoku there. Aoi was more talkative than Mysterion expected him to be, but it wasn't really talking it was more like complaining. Mysterion had put medication to make sure Aoi's hand wouldn't get infected and bandaged it up before they left, but yet he still complained about it. When they got to the cave entrance Aoi just started complaining even more.

"BYOKU'S! I expected something a bit dangerous since Eisu is here...BUT BYOKU'S? NO I AM NOT GOING" Aoi yelled in protest walking away.

"Do you really want me to use my attacks on you?" Mosquito said grinning and maintaining calm at the same time.

Aoi whipped his head back, turned around quickly and into the tunnel,

"ONWARD WE GO" Aoi said cowering in fear.

Mosquito walked into the cave behind Aoi looking dignified, and everyone else followed him into the tunnel. The tunnel wasn't exactly spacious, Ikari and Aoi kept bumping into stalactites because they were so tall. The deeper they went into the tunnel the more it was harder to walk, the tunnel was more of a slope than a straight path, just like the tunnel from the swamp. Super Craig tripped over on his own leg and fell forward, causing a domino effect, which let to everyone else falling and rolling down all the way to the bottom of the cave floor. They ended up in a dog pile and got even more dirtier than before. Super Craig was about to apologize but then he looked around,

"Um hey guys, where'd Aoi go?" Super Craig said looking a bit worried.

Mysterion looked around, it was a bit dark but then he saw Aoi tip-toeing away by the corner of the cave.

"OVER THERE" Mysterion yelled pointing to Aoi, who was now making a run for it.

Mosquito raised his hand ready to use one of his attacks, but then Super Craig grabbed his arm.

"If you use your ranged attacks, the cave could collapse" Super Craig said in caution.

Ikari and Eisu had already started running up to Aoi. They were gaining on him, Aoi couldn't run as fast, because of his still tied up hands.

"GET AWAY FROM ME YOU SAVAG- "Aoi started to shout, but then Aoi reached the edge of the path he was on.

Aoi was about to fall forward but then a hand gripped his tied up hands. It was no other than Eisu.
