A Hero's Journey - Mysterion's Story

Chapter 19

                                 Mysterion looked at Eisu in disbelief, how could she just give the file back to the enemy like that. Eisu jumped onto the P.O boxes and back up onto the top of the building lighting quick. Some of the guards started running after her, but the guard Eisu gave the files to signaled them to stop.

"There's no point in running after them, we got what we needed didn't we?" the guard said while walking out the room.

Eisu grabbed Ikari's arm and ran quickly to the edge of the building and signed to him.

"We need to run," Ikari said looking at Mysterion and his friends sternly.

"How? We can't just jump off the building, there might still be some guards down there looking for us," Mosquito stated.

Ikari looked around he saw some other buildings around them and smiled.

"We need to jump across different buildings and at least reach over to the small plateau over there," Ikari said pointing to a distant small grassy plateau from them.

"NO WAY AM I DOING THAT" Mosquito yelled.

"I can always just fly you there," Super Craig suggested.

"What about Mysterion then? He's half injured, no way can he jump across all those buildings" Mosquito spat.

Mysterion stood up, wincing a little bit from the pain.

"I can do it," Mysterion said sharply.

Super Craig and Mosquito shot they're heads at him, ready to protest, but Ikari cut them off,

"That's great mate! Then let's go, it'll be just like the old times," Ikari said nudging Eisu.

Ikari and Eisu ran to the back of the building, then they both ran and jumped onto the next building. Ikari waved his arms.

"C'MON LET'S GO" Ikari shouted.

Mysterion looked over at his friends,

"Are you sure you can manage?" Super Craig asked.

"Tsk, this will be a piece of cake" Mysterion said walking back.

Mysterion took a deep breath in and out, he ran and took a giant leap, he felt his feet land on hard cement. Mysterion opened his eyes, he was on the second building.

"Good job mate! Now just keep doing that, and when you get to the last building before the plateau make sure to crouch before leaping, it'll be easier that way" Ikari explained.

Mysterion nodded, Ikari and Eisu started running and jumping onto other rooftops. Mysterion followed them, it felt so good to feel the wind in his face after each leap he took, the pain on his arm didn't even hurt anymore. He could see Super Craig with Mosquito floating ahead of him. Mysterion was at the last building, he remembered what Ikari said, then he took a step back, ran forward, crouched, then leaped. He fell onto the grassy plateau right on top of Ikari and Eisu. Then Ikari and him laughed, and Mysterion swore he saw Eisu grin a bit, then Mysterion immediately covered his mouth. Mysterion didn't like laughing right in front of strangers, but they weren't strangers anymore, they were his allies now. Super Craig and Mosquito had landed down next to them.

"Eisu says the shelter is not too far away, we can reach it before sunset" Ikari said getting up.

The walk to the shelter was pretty silent after that, even Yui didn't say anything. Mysterion was a bit disappointed that they couldn't retrieve the file they needed to get. He still had wondered why Eisu had given the file away that easily to the guard, but they could always steal the file back tomorrow, but they would have to be more aware of their surroundings. They had finally reached the shelter, and Ikari was right, it wasn't too far away. The hideout was a small cave under a bridge, Super Craig had lit up a fire because it was getting dark and cold. Eisu tapped Ikari's shoulder and signed to him. Ikari signed back and Eisu grabbed some papers out of her pocket and handed it to Ikari. Ikari's eye's widened, he looked back at her, Eisu signed something while grinning a bit. Ikari flew himself onto her and hugged her tight.

"YOUR SO SMART EISU," he shouted still gripping her tightly.

Ikari was so loud that he caught Mysterion and his friend's attention.

"What happened?" Mosquito asked walking towards them.

Eisu pushed Ikari off and Ikari bounced in the air full of excitement.

"You know how the guard said, 'grr give me the documents,' Ikari said mimicking the guards tone.

Mosquito and his friends nodded.

"Well the guard said to give him the documents, right? Not give him the important papers in it," Ikari said proudly handing the papers to Mysterion.

Mysterion looked down at the papers he was holding, it. On the first paper there was a photo of a young looking man who Mysterion guessed was the general. The general had messy, creamy white hair, green large, pale, cat-like eyes, he looked surprisingly cheerful. From all Mysterion heard about the general he didn't really seem like a happy person. On the other piece of paper it had the general's background information.

"How are these supposed to help us?" Mysterion asked glancing back up at Ikari.

"Let me show you" Ikari answered.

Mysterion handed him the papers, Ikari grabbed a stick from the bonfire, that still had fire on it, and burned the papers.
