The wedding procession was nothing spectacular. It was small with mainly just friends they acquired during their time living in King Heechul and Queen Momo's kingdom. Which was quite a few, but still comparably small to most weddings. The procession was held at a winery owned by Momo the themes had been a simple white with just a little dark purple.
Taehyung had worn a fine white suit made by the best tailors in the kingdom — the same people who make suits for Heechul and Momo — with a rose pinned against the right side of his blazer. Jungkook had worn something similar but his suit had black here and there.
It was a wonderful and beautiful procession nonetheless and during that time, both of them had forgotten about the days to come. No honeymoon but neither of them complained as Jungkook promised a trip as soon as his family troubles were solved. They were able to play the marriage game and be a happy, newly-wedded couple for a few hours before they'd have to say goodbye to each other for an undecided amount of time. But the thought had completely gone over their heads as they walked around the area and greeted guests, danced, laughed and the lot.
Then they went home and were hit with the reminder that Jungkook had to leave. The older man had offered to take Hanseok as a way to train him and get hands-on experience at a young age but Taehyung rejected the offer. As much as he trusted his husband, he didn't trust the people. There was no telling what could happen to his son while Jungkook had his back turned. Plus, he wasn't going to send Hanseok to a whole different kingdom just to get hands-on experience when he would have other opportunities in the future when he's old enough to actually understand the basic duties of being a king.
Jungkook was concerned, of course. Taehyung would have to take care of a three-month-old baby along with his eight-year-old son and he got random fits of nausea during the day that hasn't stopped since the first time Jungkook noticed it a few days ago. The older man had contemplated staying and rejecting his mother's plea but Taehyung convinced him that he'd be fine and he'd just ask for help from a caretaker when he needed it.
"You'll go to the doctor and write me the diagnosis as soon as possible," Jungkook had asked but it seemed like more of a demand.
"Okay, I will, don't worry about me," Taehyung had grumbled. "Don't worry about Hana or Hanseok either."
He knew Jungkook would worry and Jungkook also knew that Taehyung wouldn't go to the doctor unless things got really serious. Nausea came and went along with the morning sickness and the stomach or back pain — they never lasted a long time and sometimes Taehyung would forget he's ever suffered from it until they came back. But he felt a bit off, as if there was an underlying problem behind the sudden sickness, fatigue, and such which finally convinced him to see a doctor.
He wasn't expecting the diagnosis that he received.
"Dear me..." The doctor had said, "your six months pregnant."
When he was told the news, his entire body fell cold. Confusion and fear were the first things that ran through his body as he tried to comprehend what he had been told. There was no way, he was told he was unable to carry again. They adopted Hana just for that reason: they both wanted another kid but neither of them could/would carry. And fear ran right behind confusion as he thought about the possible complications that were to come as his past doctor that told him he had a low chance of carrying also warned him of complications he'd face if they successfully conceived. Then again, the already made it past the first trimester which is when most miscarriages happen. But how could he possibly take care of an eight-year-old, a six-month-old, and a newborn all by himself?
He couldn't find it in his mind to be happy about the news despite having wanted to carry Jungkook's child in the past. But now wasn't a good time. And he was so far along, the baby was due in only three months. Hana wouldn't even be a year old when her new brother or sister was born.
Taehyung was also confused by the lack of symptoms for the first trimester and by the fact that he wasn't showing at all. Besides the bit of pudginess around the bottom of his stomach, Taehyung's abdomen was rather flat. No one could ever guess there was a fetus inside there already six-months into development. He never felt a kick, a hiccup, nothing. That's when the worry began to settle in.
His doctor had promised that the baby was in perfect health and that some people never showed all the way until their due date. The doctor also debunked Taehyung's other doctor's words, stating that he wasn't infertile or unable to carry, his chances at doing so were just incredibly low. However, the chances at losing the baby was still there and higher than a normal person carrying a baby, therefore, the doctor encouraged Taehyung to remove as much negative stress in his life that he could and to practice healthy habits.
But how was he supposed to do that when his husband was hours and miles away in a different kingdom and he had no idea when Jungkook was going to come back. And he had to care for two other kids who demanded his attention every second of the day when he was around. He wasn't bothered by his kids' needs, but it was stressful nonetheless especially when you had to do it alone, not to mention being six months pregnant. But Taehyung couldn't complain too much as he brought the stress on himself; he encouraged Jungkook to do what he needed to do and that was go back to his Mother kingdom and bring it out of ruins and stop some revolt that was bound to happen if unrest continued and he told Jungkook he had everything under control as he wanted his husband to focus solely on his duty as a king and Hanseok didn't need to be in that environment at the time. Then again, at the time he was saying all of that, he had no idea that he was pregnant more or less so far along.
The day he was confirmed pregnant, Taehyung contemplated the entire time after the words left his doctor's mouth whether or not he should write Jungkook and tell him the news. The last letter Taehyung received from the older man stated that people were still mad. There was a divide in the kingdom: one side calling Jungkook a traitor and the other essentially calling him their saviour. Everyone recognized that they needed Jungkook and Jungkook was there only to set a stable foundation for a new monarch to come in and continue to move the kingdom in the right direction. But upon that realization, people began to think they were nothing but a project to Jungkook — he left them for selfish needs and came back to look like a hero. Taehyung secretly blamed Jungkook's father and brother as they way Jungkook wrote him told Taehyung that he was behind the people's distrust.
So how was Taehyung to tell his already stressed husband that he was pregnant? If the younger man knew his husband — which he did — then he knew Jungkook would immediately come back and leave the kingdom on whatever shakey base it was currently on. And Taehyung didn't want that; Jungkook went there to fix and get the kingdom in the direction and considering the anger the people are feeling, they wouldn't let Jungkook leave so early and so easily. No matter how much of a traitor they thought he was.
But as the days went by and one letter from Jungkook later, Taehyung realized that he couldn't keep the secret away from Jungkook.

What should the sex be? What should the name be? It doesn't have to be a "Ha/n" name, the name Hanseok and Hana are just a coincidence 😅
