Everyone clapped as Jungkook's father placed the gold crown decorated with beautiful diamonds and one huge ruby in the centre atop Jungkook's head. Taehyung had never witnessed a prince become a king and he was amazed by the number of people and the size of the room. Of course, the events room at Dongwook's castle was large and gorgeous but this room had it beat. Paintings and statues lined the width of the room and wall lights lined the length. Along with the chandelier, the whole room was bright with artificial light and the curtains along the floor-to-ceiling windows were drawn.
Taehyung felt Hanseok tug at his pant leg. He crouched down so he could hear the five-year-old over the excited chatter amongst the royal families. Hanseok's lips brushed against his ear as he covered his mouth and whispered,
"Will that be me someday?"
"Being crowned king?" Taehyung asked to which the boy nodded. Taehyung nodded and picked him up, "you'll make a fabulous king won't you?"
"Yes!" Hanseok said, wrapping his arms around his neck, "i want my kingdom to be like this one."
"All kingdoms are unique, honey, some blander than others but still...unique," he wanted to say that some kingdoms just need a king that treats his people with the same respect as royalty would treat royalty but Hanseok wouldn't understand his point. He hoped that the queen taught Hanseok well while he lived with her. She's been through the same things as he has so she should raise the future king to be the complete opposite of her husband and son.
Taehyung was full of bitterness at the thought of his son ending up like Dongwook.
The newly crowned king appeared in front of them. He nodded at Taehyung who was too busy with Hanseok to notice his presence.
"Is it time?" Dongwook asked to which Jungkook nodded, "now would be great. I need to talk to you first."
Taehyung glanced at his husband and noticed how his jaw locked. Dongwook looked down at the brunette and Taehyung could tell one million sentences went through his head. The older male settled on saying,
"Go back up to our room."
The brunette didn't say anything as he turned on his heels and made his way to the exit. He stopped when he heard Jungkook say, "he can stay down here if he wants. There's food and I'm sure both he and his son are peckish."
"What's peckish?" Hanseok whispered and Taehyung answered, "hungry."
"I'm hungry!" Hanseok shot up in Taehyung's arms.
"I'm sure the both of you will be fine, right Taehyung?" Dongwook asked. His eyes showed the words he meant to say "if you don't go up there now you'll be in even more trouble than you already are."
A million different things that Dongwook could do flashed through the brunette's mind and he quickly nodded, hoping Hanseok would cause a scene.
Before Jungkook could stop them, Taehyung whipped around and made his way to his and Dongwook's room.
He sat down on the soft bed and held the five year old close to him for comfort. Immense fear spread from his stomach to the rest of his body. He felt the familiar stomach drop feeling as his heart increased its speed and his fingers slightly shook as they ran through his son's hair. His whole body temperature seemed to have decreased and he wanted nothing more than to freeze up right there and never unthaw until Dongwook is lying on his death bed.
"I'm hungry," Hanseok whined, sitting up and looking Taehyung in the eye.
"Maybe we'll go back down there later on," the brunette said. He lied down and wrapped his five year old in his arms, figuring this would be the last time he saw the boy.

"Get up!" Taehyung gasped as his arm was grabbed and he jerked himself out of his sleep in such a fast paste that his body went into fight or flight mode. He tensed up and tried to jerk his arm back, heart beating fast as he tried to get his eyes to focus.
He slowly stood up and stared up at his husband. The moonlight pouring through the window illuminated the side of the older man's face. He could see his eyes narrowed in a scowl and his mouth was pulled back in a sneer. The fear from earlier fell on Taehyung like a rock in his stomach. He almost fell at the weight but Dongwook grabbed his arm and jerked Hanseok off the bed, causing the poor baby to stumble and fall.
The brunette said nothing as he leaned down and picked the whining boy off the wrong. He watched Dongwook grab their bags, flinching when the older male ordered for him to follow.
"Where do you think you're going, King?" Jungkook asked, "i asked you politely if you'd just sign that treaty."
"I don't abide by your rules," Dongwook snapped, "that treaty had nothing to do with the war."
"Yes, it did. It clearly stated that if you do what it said that the war would stop and we'll go on about our lives."
Dongwook scoffed and reached back to grab Taehyung's wrist. Taehyung quickly put Hanseok on his side so he wouldn't drop him as his left arm was pulled out from under Hanseok's bum.
"We'll be on our way," Dongwook snapped, "if you want a war then so be it."
"Leave them," Jungkook said but Taehyung quickly butted in.
"Jungkook, stop it," he said, trying to keep his voice steady but it was hard when Dongwook was squeezing his wrist so hard it might actually break.
There was a moment of silence before Jungkook backed up. Dongwook pulled Taehyung causing the younger male to stumble forward.
"There will be then," Jungkook said.

"
NO!" Taehyung screamed, turning in his husband's arms and trying to free his arms. Pain shot up and down in his body but it fueled his adrenaline and made him fight against Dongwook.
Dongwook slammed him into a wall. A dent appeared where his head hit and Taehyung slid down to the floor as black spots clouded his vision. Dongwook grabbed a handful of his brown locks and pulled him forward. Taehyung released a sound full of pain as he used one hand to grab Dongwook's and the used the other to slam against the floor.
"STOP!" Taehyung yelled but his voice was hoarse. His adrenaline rush was dying down and all he felt was pain. His body ached and throbbed causing his arms and legs to shake.
"Stop?!" Dongwook exclaimed "STOP?!" He slammed his foot into Taehyung's chest. The aforementioned male fell to his side, gasping as he received another blow to the stomach.
He vowed to never cry in front of this man after what happened when he was fourteen but tears fell out of his eyes. His lips quivered and he had his teeth clenched, trying to focus on one painful part but it was hard.
"YOU RUINED EVERYTHING BECAUSE YOU CAN'T KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT!" Dongwook stomped on his stomach and he would have thrown up but he hadn't eaten anything.
He couldn't breathe.
Taehyung clawed at his husband's hands, the walls and the floor as his body seemed to suffocate itself. Dongwook slammed his foot into his stomach again and he felt himself slip into unconsciousness.
Dongwook stopped and dragged Taehyung into a cold room and Taehyung immediately knew he was in a cellar when he heard the doors close.
Despite not being able to breathe, Taehyung got on his knees and dry heaved. Blood sputtered past his lips but he couldn't stop until he was practically begging his own body to stop. He collapsed on the cold ground and passed out.
