Chapter Fourteen

My time periods are really messed up...

Last week Taehyung received a letter from Hanseok's school stating that the entire second-grade class will be going on a field trip to an aquarium on Friday. Hanseok talked nonstop about it all the way until the morning of the trip. Upon the seven-year-old's persistent begging, Taehyung agreed to go.

The aquarium was located in the city so Taehyung had taken a cab. He and a few other parents were standing outside, waiting for the buses to arrive since many of them either lived near the aquarium or arrived early.

"I heard the king is coming," a woman whispered to another woman who nodded and replied, "yeah, he supposedly put together the field trip."

Taehyung frowned upon hearing their conversation. Hanseok had said nothing about the king attending or putting together the trip then again the seven-year-old tended to forget things easily.

"He's not married yet either," the woman said.

"Aren't you married?" Her friend asked to which the former shook her head and said, "divorced. Eligible."

'The only reason these women came probably wasn't for their kid' Taehyung thought as he leaned over to see if the buses were visible yet. They were supposed to arrive by at least 11:30 and he looked around for a clock to tell him what time it was.

"Can you tell me what time it is?" Taehyung asked one of the parents standing near him.

The man looked down at his watch and responded, "11:15, they're supposed to be here at 11:30."

Taehyung sighed and thanked the man before going back to uncomfortably standing near the entrance of the aquarium and the women. He had his arms tensely crossed and one leg bent with his foot sliding across the pavement. He didn't know why he felt so awkward and impatient.

"Oh my God! There he is!" The woman whispered.

The blonde looked up and his eyes landed on a gorgeous Aston Martin pulling into the parking lot and parking beside a green van. Taehyung mentally cursed and he turned slightly to look through the glass doors. He really couldn't see inside since the windows were tinted but he could make out the front desk and two people with a toddler standing in front of it.

Taehyung glanced back at the car and saw Jungkook in his royal glory closing the door. He was wearing a simple black T-shirt tucked into a pair of blue jeans fitted with rather large black shoes that Taehyung didn't know the brand of and would never want to know. He had sunglasses on but he took them off and hooked them onto his shirt as he walked towards the parents with his dazzling smile.

"Morning," he said, bowing his head at everyone. They all greeted him back but Taehyung just barely bowed his head and went back to staring at the entrance of the aquarium. Some of the parents started conversing with Jungkook and Taehyung eventually got tired of staring in the entrance so he shifted on his feet and walked closer to the side of the entrance.

He looked for the buses again and he sighed gratefully once he saw one of the buses driving towards them with the other bus not too far behind. Taehyung watched the bus pull into the parking lot and stop in front of the school. The teacher stood up on the bus and started saying something to the kids before the doors opened and they rushed off in a single file line. Hanseok jumped off, talking with one of his friends before leaving him and rushing over to Taehyung, smiling and wrapping his arms around the blonde's legs.

"Did you have fun on the bus?" Taehyung asked.

"Yeah! Xuhao gave me M&Ms!" He said, showing Taehyung his pack of peanut butter M&Ms. He looked behind him and quickly let go of Taehyung and rushed towards Jungkook who was being surrounded by kids. Taehyung jerked forward to pull him away since he started pushing through the crowd of kids but Hanseok quickly got to Jungkook who hugged him back.
