Chapter Sixteen

It's slowly becoming weird for me to write "mommy" when Hanseok is talking to Taehyung haha.

"Come on, Hanseok, calm down," Taehyung chuckled as his wild seven-year-old moved away from Taehyung out of excitement. He grabbed him by his suspenders (his sister's idea) and pulled him closer to him to finish tucking in his shirt.

"I don't like suspenders!" Hanseok said rather cheerfully as he pushed himself up on his tiptoes for no reason but the excitement he couldn't seem to contain inside himself.

"I know, but you look cute if they end up being restrictive—"

"What does that mean?"

"If they get in the way then you can take them off."

He finished tucking Hanseok's shirt in before making the boy sit down, telling him to sit down and that he can he waste all his energy at the carnival they were going to. Hanseok complied but Taehyung knew that when he returned to his room from getting dressed, the seven-year-old wouldn't be there.

It's been two weeks since Jungkook and Taehyung's first date and they went in two other dates during those weeks. Their second date had been to a restaurant. Jungkook had requested that the top floor be vacant so they eat and talk in peace without the worry of their date night being spread around the kingdom. It was a very pleasant date, this time with no paint being thrown around. They were less tense and awkward which opened up doors for more conversations. Jungkook had promised Hanseok he'd take him with them one day but their third date had also been a more private date, having spent time on Jungkook's yacht. Taehyung ended up getting seasick which made Jungkook feel absolutely terrible and the older male was still apologizing for that day.

Today, Jungkook finally lived up to his promise to Hanseok who had been quite upset with him over the weeks. Jungkook had asked Taehyung if he and Hanseok wanted to go to a carnival that was a bit outside of the kingdom so they had to wake up a bit earlier than usual, but Hanseok didn't seem phased as he was practically shaking with excitement. When Hanseok heard, the boy immediately said yes and didn't give Taehyung any time to talk. Going to the carnival was the only thing Hanseok had been talking about up until this day.

Going to the carnival also meant that Jungkook and Taehyung's "relationship" would be officially public. Taehyung had been reluctant to agree to go at first, thinking maybe he'd just let Jungkook take Hanseok because all he could think about was when his marriage with him was announced and no one accepted him. Of course, he didn't voice his concerns but Jungkook had reassured him that it'd be okay, he's not obligated to make an official announcement about them until they're an actual relationship. Still, Taehyung knew the people would start gossiping and he hated the idea of being part of it. However, he agreed to go and he wasn't going to let his discomfort ruin everything.

He had barely started on his hair when Hanseok ran into the bathroom, left side of his shirt already untucked.

"Mommy, Kookie is here!" He exclaimed, "come on! Hurry up!"

"Yeah, yeah, I'm sure my mom invited him in. Tuck your shirt in—"

Hanseok ran out before Taehyung could get all of his words in, yelling Jungkook's nickname. Taehyung chuckled and shook his head as he continued to run a comb through his hair before styling it and making sure his clothes looked nice. He felt much more insecure about what he wore, how looked, and acted now knowing that Jungkook's people were going to see the two of them together even if they didn't know they were dating.

After one last check, Taehyung nodded at his reflection and made his way towards the living room. Hanseok was bouncing around Jungkook, yapping away and Jungkook kept turning his head and moving his body to keep up with the hyper boy. He was laughing and trying to get Hanseok to stop jumping so they could have a decent conversation but Hanseok wiggled his arm out of the man's grasp. Only when he saw Taehyung did he stop jumping, landing on his feet and staying on his feet, an unsure smile replacing his excited one.
