The house was silent as Jungkook processes everything Taehyung had shared.

Taehyung had explained everything to the older male as soon as they got settled back into their home. He had explained that after Hanseok turned two, Dongwook wanted him to have another baby. No one ever notified him Hanseok's birthdays, but how could Taehyung forget? He wasn't angry that the maids didn't make an effort to tell him about Hanseok's birthdays as he knew most of them were only keeping away from the topic for Taehyung's good.

Dongwook had told him that Hanseok wasn't showing that he had good intellect or something like that. Dongwook was basically calling their two-year-old son dumb. And therefore, he wanted Taehyung to give him another child. He had blamed Taehyung for doing something wrong in his pregnancy, but Taehyung had been confused. Why were they testing a baby on his intelligence?

Of course, Taehyung refused. He was only sixteen and he didn't want to go through the discomfort of being pregnant, possible pre-natal depression, the pain of going in labour, and then getting his baby taken away from him again. He couldn't the bear the thought of not being able to see and hold another child of his. But of course, Dongwook didn't take no for an answer.

Taehyung didn't make it past his first trimester when he was pregnant with his second child. Dongwook had brutally beaten him for an accident he made when he was trying to form an alliance. Taehyung had said something wrong — he didn't remember what — but it was something that really ticked the older man off and resulted into him being beaten for it.

After his miscarriage, Dongwook was angry. He stupidly blamed for Taehyung for the death of their child and he wanted to try again. Taehyung didn't fight back, seeing as though he was in too much pain from the beating he received just a few days before. After he wasn't able to get pregnant after several attempts of trying, Dongwook took him to the doctor and the doctor revealed devastating news.

He had explained that Taehyung wouldn't be able to get pregnant anymore, and if he did, it'd be a miracle for him to carry the child to full term. It would be an even bigger miracle if the child came out completely healthy.

Jungkook had listened to Taehyung's thorough explanation carefully. He wanted to tell Taehyung that some doctors were wrong and there was a possibility he could still get pregnant, but another part of him told him now wasn't the time to say that. Having children with Taehyung wasn't a huge deal, even though the older man would've liked to have their own little one running around. It would have been a big deal to his parents if he were still the king as kings had to have heirs to the thrown — they couldn't just adopt. But now, it didn't matter if they had kids or not.

However, the topic of children changed as Taehyung revealed more information about his past. His heart clenched at the way his boyfriend's voice shook as he tried to fight back his tears. It was still very unfathomable the horrors Taehyung has been through and Jungkook knew he'd never fully understand. It made him so angry listening to Taehyung talk. He regretted killing Dongwook, the man deserved to suffer for putting Taehyung through so much torture — especially at such a young age.

When Jungkook was fourteen, he was busy sleeping during his Proper Etiquette classes and trying to embarrass his brother in front of royal families and his crush (now wife). But when Taehyung was fourteen, he was under the control of Dongwook and constantly being abused and he went through that for five more years. And even now, when he's trying so hard to push those traumatic memories away, he's still occasionally reminded of it when people point him out as Dongwook's husband and not Kim Taehyung.

"—And I'm sorry that I won't be able to have kids for you."

Jungkook's eyes widened. He quickly shook his head and pulled Taehyung into a tight hug. Taehyung closed his eyes and pressed his face against Jungkook's neck.

Jungkook felt guilty.

He realized the reason for Taehyung's sudden mood drop today and he cursed himself for saying something so careless even though he truly didn't know until now. And was he mad that Taehyung decided to share the important information now? Not at all, people have their reasons and he was actually happy that he was able to make Taehyung forget his trauma for a while.

"You shouldn't apologize," Jungkook spoke up, running his fingers through his boyfriend's blonde hair. "It isn't your fault — none of it's your fault."

Taehyung sat up, using the palm of his hand to press against his left eye where tears were threatening to overflow. "How will we—"

"We'll adopt," Jungkook said, pecking his boyfriend's lips, "we'll adopt and we'll be happy. It's okay, I don't need heirs anymore. I just want to have a big — or small, whatever — family with you and I want Hanseok to have siblings. But right now, we'll just enjoy what we have right now and that's each other and Hanseok."

Taehyung's face broke into a smile as he pressed his forehead against Jungkook's.

"What did I do to deserve you?"

Jungkook chuckled and pecked Taehyung's lips again. Taehyung quickly caught Jungkook's lips again before he could pull away. Jungkook pulled Taehyung closer so their chests were barely touching before hugging the younger man's waist.

"I love you," Taehyung said as he broke away, "so much."

"I love you too."
