Possession is Annoying

I felt a pang of guilt-for I had not seen this coming. Granted, I don't see anything coming anymore-with the power switches. Oh gods, make this torture stop.

I grabbed Percy's shoulder, and spun him around. I gesticulated my hand to get Piper's attention, while Ares-I didn't know what he was doing. To be honest, I wasn't sure of what to do. These possessing, evil creatures were cruel to us seven. They just couldn't leave without getting a taste of Percy's body. Not that I can blame them, of course.

Anyway, I stared into his eyes. He scowled, and I knew that he was definitely possessed. My eyes weren't playing tricks on me. My Percy wouldn't do anything like that to me.

"What in Hades are you doing?!" Ares demanded as I rubbed Percy's cheek.

"Piper, could you come here for a second? Then Ares can answer Percy's question," I responded.

"Sure," Piper hummed.

Piper strolled toward us. She looked concerned, as if she didn't know what happened. Wasn't it obvious that Percy didn't seem normal?

Once she reached Percy, I instructed, "Please look at his eyes. Look at the color."

"There is nothing wrong with my eyes!" Percy claimed as he grabbed Piper's wrist and twisted it behind her back. Piper screamed in pain as he raised her arm higher up her back.

"Percy!" I chastened.

He grabbed me by my hair and pulled me towards Ares. "Kill her in seconds. I never want to see her again!"

I stopped dead in my tracks. Even though he was possessed, it brought tears to my eyes, just from hearing those hateful words in his voice. My eyes filled with salty water which streamed down my face, two at a time.

"Enough with the crying! You should've seen this coming, you idiot! You can't even solve a simple equation without your Athena," Percy explained. I wouldn't budge. He was breaking me. He was my only flaw in this world and the world ahead of me.

"Come here, Annabeth," Hazel comforted. I couldn't move. It felt as if I had been paralyzed. My eyes blinked, and my lungs filled with air, but I couldn't inch my way toward Percy, who was begging me to go to my death, or Hazel, who was holding her arms out to hug me.

Ares drew his sword. I assumed that he didn't want to witness our stalling anymore. Percy was in danger, Piper didn't know, and I'm about to die.

"I'll make this as painful as possible," Ares declared. I gave him my death glare. He another and pointed his sword at my heart. It's beat was pulsing through my body.

I dodged his attach, just barely. I knew I couldn't beat him unarmed. I lost my dagger from the battle with Typhon. Sadly, death seemed kind of comforting. I needed Percy to cone back to me, so I could be protected from this crazy god.

"Piper! Look at Percy!" I shouted as Percy attached Jason from behind.

They stabbed and dodged as Ares got distracted. He watched and was chanting something like, "Go! Kill that kid! He's a coward!"

"He's possessed!" Piper seemed shocked.

"Well, duh! Do you ever think these two love birds could be separated?" Leo joked.

"Come back Percy! You spirits need to leave us alone, once and for all!" Piper charmed the evil thing.

"Wh-what?" Percy stumbled as the monster escaped his body. Jason's sword almost stabbed Percy's arm, if he hadn't stammered as he heard his voice, confused as always.

"A little help, please?" I begged.
