You never know what might happen until it does. For instance, my hands started to tingle. It felt as if I had some new kind of power soaring through my body. Then, I ruffled my fingers, and I saw that little sparks of electricity were poking out of them. Amazingness.

Anyway, I screamed. I mean, I hadn't expected anything like that to happen. Ever. In my entire life. That's just how it is.

"Woah!" Percy shrieked. "Why can't I have a good power for once? Besides Poseidon, of course."

"That's offensive, Bro," Leo remarked. Gods, boys were crazy. But it's actually kind of cute (for Percy).

"Whatever. It's not like I'm 'Hephastesus's Son' or anything. I got the ugly, stupid Athena before," Percy stated.

"You little-" I started, but got cut off as Leo held me back and covered my mouth with his hand. He was so lucky that I didn't lick him right then and there, in front of Percy.

"What? It's the truth, Wise Girl. But you make it work," he answered. Boy, did I want to punch him. So bad.

Whatever. It's not like he's better than me. Is he?

To go back to reality, I instructed the boys to go search for everyone else. I also did the same. I felt my hair (which was weird) and I had to recalculate. What did Percy say my hair was like? Oh, right. Piper's. Yay.

That always helps.

Anyway, I stumbled across Hazel's limp body. I was assuming that they would be awake by now if we were, so why weren't they? Were they dead?

"Hazel? Hazel!" I cried, trying to revive her. She didn't stir. Bad news.

"Who's there?" I heard a male voice.

I panicked. I stayed low and pretended to be in Hazel's position. I heard footsteps come toward me.

"I said, 'Who's there?!" the voice demanded. He sounded familiar.

I peeked an eye open and saw that it was Frank. He had a dagger in his hand, and sadly, his eyes were golden. Those little demons just couldn't give us a break already!

I sighed, and I immediately regretted it. Frank heard me and evilly grinned. Not a good sign.

"Annabeth! It would be lovely to see you dead!" he cheered.

I didn't move. I didn't even breathe. Maybe he would think that he was hallucinating. I know I was.

"You cannot fool me!" he declared with a tint of anger in his voice. So much for that idea. Yay me.

I quickly sprung up and ran to the nearest exit. Frank laughed maniacally and I felt a searing pain in my shoulder. Yet again.

Thanks a lot, Frank. I absolutely love it when you stab me. Especially in my already wounded shoulder.
