Stupid Traitors

My knees buckled. I gave one last look at Frank, and my legs gave out. I choked, seeing red flakes of blood crawl into my eyes. I screamed, "Percy!" and pretended to pass out. After all, you would kind of want to make the person chasing you think that you are unconscious, and then you 'wake up' and surprise attack them. It wasn't the best of plans, but it was the one I went with.

I fell down and hit the ground with a hard crack as my shoulder made contact with the ground first. Now that was bad planning.

I winced as I felt Frank's footsteps pounding on the surface beneath me. I soon heard them, and the intensity of the steps increased as he came closer.

"Oh, Annabeth. Poor, weak, Annabeth," Frank chuckled. It was very hard for be to keep my 'cool' as you kids call it, but I wanted to punch that smirk that I knew was there right off his chubby face.

He stared kicking me, first at my shoulder, then at my neck. I don't know if he was trying to scoot me along the floor or kill me, but it doesn't matter.

Anyway, he eventually carried me up a stairway and I found myself tied to something. I hoped that my temper wouldn't set it on fire, with my new powers and all.

Wait! There's a breakthrough coming! Remember when I came to a life/death situation? Didn't I get my 'Athena' back? I'm pretty sure I did!

Either way, I slowly opened my eye (just the one) and gave a look around. Frank was off in the corner, talking to Magic's Daughter and Percy was across from me, on the floor, bleeding once again. Leo was tied to me, and he was unconscious as well.

I closed my eyes as soon as I heard Frank say, "The Hazel girl is dead."

That made me stop breathing altogether.

Hazel couldn't have died! It wasn't possible! Okay, it was, but not in my mind!

"Good job, agent Zang," Magic's Daughter praised. Has Frank been a traitor all along? Are those eyes really not the ones of a demon?

"Also, the seven seemed to have switched powers again, and changed their looks. I could hardly tell that Annabeth was Annabeth," Frank informed.

"I know that. It was my spell, you idiot!" she chastened.

So, mystery number one is solved.

I shook my head, very disappointed in Frank. Sadly, he noticed.

He trotted over to me and slapped my face. Unfortunately, my face hadn't moved like it was supposed to. I had kept it rock hard, so the impact wouldn't have been that bad.

He took my wrist and pulled it behind my back, forcing me to hiss. There was no way I could fight back.

He quickly pulled out his dagger, and my life flashed before my eyes before I saw the dagger connect with my skin.
