Trouble with the L Word

"You're pregnant, (y/n)?" Kakashi repeated, but this time a little more firm.

"I-"

"How long have you known for?" He asked slamming the drawer shut.

"I didn't, I swear! I forgot that was in there," you admitted. You felt a few tears roll down your cheeks. Who was this aggressive Kakashi?

"How long ago did you do the test?" He asked through gritted teeth.

"Uhhh," you said, trying to rack your brain. "More than two weeks ago...?"

"And why didn't you think to tell me?" He asked, running his hands through his hair.

"I-I don't know. Jiraiya told me to-"

"That damned Toad Sage knew about this, and not me?" He spat.

"He's the one that made me take the test!" You retorted.

"And you still didn't think to tell me?"

You stopped for a second and had to refrain from saying a few things. "I'm sorry, I forgot, I swear. But don't act like I'm the only one to blame. You're the father," you pointed out.

"And you're the mother."

"Eww, don't say that," you cringed, covering your ears.

"Why? Mother, mother, mother, mother, mother, mother, mother." He said just to annoy you.

"Why are you acting so immature?" You screamed.

"Well you're the one who didn't tell me you were PREGNANT."

"Because I DIDN'T KNOW." You yelled over him.

He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration. He lifted his hand and you were 99.9% sure he was going to slap you. You flinched when his gentle thumb traced your jawline.

"I don't want to fight tonight, okay?" His voice was calm and you could tell he meant it. "Let's get our pajamas on and go to bed, yeah?" He said, putting his hands on your waist.

"Yeah. Sure, okay," your mind was still racing with thoughts of panic and worry.

You went over to your drawer and dropped your towel. You opened it and put on one of Kakashi's large T-shirts and some underwear.

You crossed the room and laid on the bed next to Kakashi who was already in his pajamas. There was a slight distance between the two of you. He seemed to notice and closed the gap by pulling your back closer into his chest.

"Everything's gonna be alright, okay?" He murmured into your hair.

"I hope so," you managed to say. But you couldn't help but worry about the whole situation.

"I know so," Kakashi reassured you. "Let's get some rest, babe, it's been a long day."

You sighed before agreeing. He rolled over to turn off the lights before saying. "Goodnight, love."

Your heart raced until you realized that was the end of the sentence.

Just say it already you little bitch.

That was the last thought you had before falling asleep.

The next few days, you didn't do much of anything. You stayed home and cried a lot, about the Hokage, but mostly the pregnancy. Kakashi caught you looking at your tummy in the mirror for what felt like the millionth time.
