cute boyf fluff hehehe, don't worry angst is coming soon
michaels pov
i entered hell, or as teachers and parents called it 'school'. my headphones were playing but i barely paid attention to the music in my ears.just another day of being the loser with no friends.
fun.
as i get to my locker and get out my stuff for first period, i can't help but stare at my crush, also known as one of the most popular boys in school, jeremy heere. (pft that's a good joke michael)
i've never had the courage to talk to him, but in all honesty he seems nice. nicer than rich or jake. the only problem is he's dating a girl, christine canigula, so he's straight, or maybe not.
i'm too tired to worry about this right now, so i just shuffle towards my first class, which i conveniently have with jeremy. time to stare at him, totally not in a creepy way, instead of listening to the teacher.
i plop in my single desk and stuff my backpack under the table. jeremy enters the room followed by jake, who always has this class, they were talking about some random shit.
jeremy sits in his seat behind me, so sadly i cannot stare at him.
~~~
halfway through the class, i start doodling in my notebook. i like to draw different types flowers and plants, since my moms own a flower shop and i work there on the weekends.
the bell rings and i quickly finish sketching the rose i was working on, when i heard someone behind me.
"those are really good drawings." jeremy says, looking over my shoulder while i sat frozen in my desk. jeremy was talking to me?
"i—, er- umm.... thank... you?" i stutter. real smooth, mell.
"no problem, i'm jeremy, by the way." he stuck out his hand as i stood up. i forced my trembling hand to shake his, letting go quickly so he wouldn't notice how my hands were shivering like an earthquake.
"m-michael mell." i introduce myself, shoving my hands in my hoodie pocket.
"well, michael, i'll see you around." jeremy smiles, walking out of the classroom. i blushed as i recalled his smile and gathered my things, heading to my next class.
~time squip to lunch~
i sat down across from my only friend. i know i said i didn't have any friends earlier, but i tend to over exaggerate a lot.
"hey jenna. how was your day?" i ask, unpacking my lunch.
"pretty good, i tried out this new coffee at the local coffee shop, can't remember what it was called though." jenna explained.
"how was it?"
"decent, probably not something i'd have again." she shrugged. "buuuut, i do have new gossip." i perk up and wait patiently for her to tell me. i'm gay, of course i like gossip.
"jeremy and christine broke up yesterday, heard it from chris herself." she chuckled, knowing about my huge gay crush on jeremy.
"oh shush, that doesn't mean anything's gonna happen between us." i mumble, starting to sip my slushee.
"he also came out as bi after they broke up." i choked on my drink and started coughing rapidly.
"real— *cough* really?" i ask, dumbfounded.
jenna nods. holy shit.
the jeremy heere is bisexual.
i try not to get my hopes up.
"jenna, guess what? i forgot to mention, but jeremy actually talked to me for the first time!" i exclaim.
"i ship you guys so much. you better confess soon or i will kill you." jenna teased. i rolled my eyes and continued eating.
"hey, wanna go to the mall on saturday?" jenna invites.
"sorry jen, i'm working."
"ugh, why can't your moms just take over." she complains. i shrug.
~✨saturday✨~
i drive to the flower shop at around 8:45 am, since we open at 9. mom and mama were busy today, so i'm running the shop by myself. i do it all the time and actually prefer it, because there's no other employees and i can sing when no ones in the shop.
unlocking the door, i head inside and make sure everything is ready and in-order. as the clock hits the 9 hour mark, i flip the sign form closed to open and turn on the lights. we don't get many customers, so my moms agreed to get me nintendo switch with two docks, one at home and one here. i bring my switch here every weekend and play mariokart on the tv in the back when the day is slow.
but right now, i just at the counter, waiting patiently.
a few customers later and it was around 1pm, we close at 5.
i started humming a random song when the bell rang, signaling a customer.
jeremys pov
i walk into the flower shop, hoping to get some flowers for a certain someone when i look up at the cashier.i feel my eyes widen, but play it off and keep walking, "hey, michael. i didn't know you worked heere." i said casually.
"hmm? oh! h-hey jeremy. actually my m-moms own this shop." he chuckled a bit, before clearing his throat. "so, what can i get for you?"
"oh, well i was hoping i could get some flowers that represent love?" i ask timidly.
stop freaking out, he doesn't even know the flowers are for him. calm down. i scold myself.
"love, huh? didn't you just get out of a relationship?" he teased.
"well, i realized i liked someone else. i told myself go big or go home, so i decided to confess and get them flowers." i giggle.
"who's the lucky person?" he asks, and i quickly become nervous. "shit, sorry. i shouldn't have asked that. that's your business, not mine." michael apologizes.
"it's fine, really." i reassure.
"alright, well what's this persons favorite color?" michael asked.
i'm gonna assume michaels favorite color is red, since he has that red hoodie on all the time, "red."
"okay, flowers for love. how about some red roses signifying deep emotions, some primroses, meaning 'i can't live without you'. red chrysanthemums, meaning 'i love you' and pink camellias for saying 'you're adorable'." michael said as he effortlessly threw together the bouquet, tying it with a red ribbon. i didn't know he was so good at flower stuff.
"wow, you really know a lot about flowers, micha." i say, accidentally calling him a nickname. he seemed to like it though.
"th-thanks, that'll be $15.75" he stuttered.
i got out my wallet and paid for the flowers. "hey when does your shift end?"
"umm.... 5. why?" he asked nervously.
"i— well, do you maybe want to go to the local diner with me tonight? i can pick you up." i stated, trying to keep myself from stuttering or voice cracking too much.
"like... a date?" michael smiled a small but visible smile.
"yea, l-like a date." i confirmed.
"yes! i mean, uh, sure. sure. just text me the details." michael said, handing me his phone.
i typed in my number and name (jer💖), handed the phon back to him and walked out of the store with my flowers.
