"michael, MICHAEL! wake up!" i smile, shaking my best friend awake.

"what?" he mumbles, groggily.

"it's raining!" i exclaim. he immediately sat up and smiled at me, getting up and getting dressed. i giggle and throw on under my raincoat.

michael puts on his own raincoat and we both rush to put on our shoes. we scramble outside and start laughing at nothing.

me and michael both love the rain, and we have a tradition to always get outside when it rains. i splash him with puddle water and he turns around to glare at me.

"how dare you!" he yells over the rain.

"what?" i ask, innocently.

he jumps into a puddle near me, soaking me to the bone. i let out a gasp and glare back at michael.

we start laughing and i fall onto my butt, in the middle of the street. michael sits across from me and we just sorta... talk.

occasionally getting out of the way for cars passing through, we decided to move to the sidewalk. "so, how's your relationship going?" michael questions.

"oh... actually me and christine broke up." i mumble, loud enough to hear over the pouring rain.

"oh, shit, i'm sorry, jere." he said, setting a hand on my shoulder. i look at him with a small smile, "actually, we, uh, we ended it on mutual terms. i like someone else now."

"wait, really? the girl who's name you used to moan, you just let her go, mutually?" michael scoffs, teasingly.

"ok, first off, i didn't moan her name, i sang it." i retort, "second, yes, like i said, i like someone else."

"whatever, man. who do you like?" he asked the question that i despised.

i started blushing and stuttering, just thinking about the boy in front of me. he's so amazing and i wish i could just tell him upfront, but i can't.

"i can't tell you." i laugh as michael gives me a look that says 'are-you-kidding-me?' "sorry, dude, i just can't tell you." i shrug.

"why not?"

"that's classified." i wink at him.

"oh, come on, not even the first letter?" he questions, desperately.

i shake my head and giggle at his reaction.

"hey dummy, wanna dance?" i ask, tilting my head in an attempt to look cuter.

"yea." michael answers, standing up and taking my hand, pulling me up as well. i wrap my arms around his neck, as he pulls me in by the waist. we sway to the non-existent music in our heads, heartbeats slowly synchronizing.

after a while of swaying, i come to a conclusion; this is not platonic, whatsoever. i don't know if it was michaels arms tightly around my waist or him burying his face in my rain-soaked hair, but something about this isn't something normal bros do.

i remove my head from the crook of michaels neck and meet his eyes. he looks at me confused, but i continue to cup his cheek and bring his face closer.

our lips soon meet and the rain seems to get louder, as if everything is clearer now. i feel michael kiss back and i can't help but pull away to smile like a dork.

"i love you, you're the mystery person i like." i mumble, cupping his face with both my hands.

michael loosely grabs one of my wrists and leans into my hand, "i love you too, jeremy."

i kiss his nose gently and lean our foreheads together. "you're cute with rain in your hair."

"you're not too bad yourself." michael comments, running a hand through my hair. i giggle and grab his hand, "wanna go back inside?" i question.

michael nods and we head inside, holding each other's hands. as soon as we got through the door frame, however, maganda immediately bombarded us.

"i saw you kiss in the rain, oh my gosh, that was so cute! how have you guys not confessed sooner, me and your mother were waiting, michael!" she said without taking a breath.

me and michael back up a bit and stare at each other. we start taking off our rain gear and shoes, "uh... well, i don't know, i just kinda made the first move and, er, kissed michael." i stutter as maganda smiled widely. michael squeezed my hand and chuckled awkwardly, "mom? i love you, but me and jeremy kinda have to figure this out first."

"figure this out? do you need to figure this out, i pretty much figured this all out, micha." i comment.

"really? boyf riends?" michael asked, shocked.

i nod and smile at him, but we were interrupted by a squeal, "AWWWWWWW!!!!!"

we both jump and i cling onto michaels arm as a reflex as he wraps his arm around me, protectively, moooooooom!" michael groans as lauren enters the room, apparently seeing us confess.

"boys! that was adorable. also, maganda, you owe me 10 bucks. i knew jeremy would make the first move." lauren smirked at her wife.

"michael, why didn't you confess first! i just lost $10!" maganda scolds her child, playfully.

"oh my god, i'm going upstairs." michael rolls his eyes, walking away from the scene.

"and i'll come with." i add, following him.

once we get to michaels room, i flop onto his bed and open my arms, inviting my new boyf riend to cuddle. he crawls onto the bed and falls onto my chest, hugging me tightly.

"i love you, jere."

"i love you too." i respond, smiling to myself as michael listens to my heartbeat.

"let's just stay here for a while." michael comments.

"don't fall asleep on me." i snicker.

"shush, there's no way in hell i'm falling asleep, i want to enjoy this moment." he says.
