jeremys pov

it's been a few months since i turned 18. still nothing. no sign of a soulmate. wouldn't even be surprised if i didn't have one. currently i was sitting outside of school, waiting for the bus to bring me home.

it finally arrived and i got in last, as usual, taking a seat in the back.

homework can wait. i'm laying on my bed and overthinking (same). i checked the clock after it feeling like hours, guess what, it was only 10 minutes. i got up stretched my lanky arms. i hated my arms, they're too skinny and long.

i put on my navy blue cardigan and go to the kitchen. i figured i could get a snack or something.

after eating some saltines and a glass of water, i decided to take a walk.

"hey dad! i'm going for a walk."

i waited for a response but it never came. i ran upstairs to my dads room. he could just be sleeping, right? i opened the door to see him standing up, putting away laundry. but he was... frozen?

i waved my hand in front of his face. nothing.

wait, does that mean? my soulmate! i need to go find them!

i ran back downstairs and left a note for my dad

'hey dad,

don't worry, i'm ok. just looking for my soulmate. the world froze! i need to go find them.

i put it on the counter and run outside.

my eyes widen, it was dark outside, which was normal. stupid day-lights saving. there were barely any people outside, but the people that were there, were completely frozen.

this would be fun. but first things first.

i walked out into the street, who's gonna hit me anyway? i started walking to the bridge near my house. something drew me there.

cars were frozen in the street, but i just walked around. once i walked onto the bridge, still walking around cars, i saw a certain red PT cruiser parked on the side of the bridge.

i walk up to it, something inside me told me to.

i walk around it to the sidewalk next to the road and see someone, sitting against the railing of the bridge.

"hello?" i ask, and the person looked up at me, and i could see they had a black eye. wait, is that my soulmate? oh my god, he's cute.

"hi?" he asks.

"what are you doing on the bridge? shit, are you....?" i ask, he seems to know what i'm implying.

he shakes his head, laughing slightly, "relax dude, i'm not gonna jump, just thinking about it."

"why? if you don't mind my asking."

the guy in the red hoodie shrugs, "bullies? life? everything, really. and now that the worlds frozen, who would care?"
