Chapter 23
Third Person POV
Zion woke up in a rush. She was confused and disoriented. She looked around the room she was in to gather her bearings. After a moment or two she realized that she was in Shiloh's room when she saw the nude poster of the big-tittied anime girl on the left wall of the room.
She tried to stand up from the bed and she realized she felt sore all over, her muscles felt strained and her wrists were bruised. She took a deep breath after she got over the initial shock of the bruises on her body.
When she accomplished the task of standing, she wondered how she got here. Flashes of the previous night went through her head, she was with Arkhan and Kiran until she wasn't. The ;apses in her memories weren't the only things that had her confused. Had Shiloh done something to me? No. She couldn't have. She shook her head intensely so as to shake away the intrusive thoughts that made her doubt her relationship. Shiloh wasn't one to hurt somebody unless it was somebody from her family. Shiloh also lacked the zeal to do anything comprehensive if money wasn't involved.
She looked at the weird vanity Shiloh had set up for the future girlfriends she wished to gain before meeting Zion. Zion looked into the mirror and the face looking back at her was very different from the one she was used to. She looked pale, mangle and skittish. It didn't help that the longer she stared at herself the more she could feel the dull throb at the back of her head. She stepped away and made her way to the living room in an effort to ask Arkhan what had happened yesterday and maybe apologize to whoever had brought her home.
In the living room, Billie and Arkhan were talking in hushed tones and they stopped when the door to Shiloh's room opened. Zion stepped out with hesitance, then looked around, when she was sure that Shiloh wasn't in the room, she went towards the kitchen counter. The TV was on, stuck on one of the cartoons that Shiloh loved to watch with her. She sat down as Billie pushed a bowl of assorted sliced fruits. Zion played with the fork before stabbing a fat grape and placing it in her mouth. The grape was cold. Sad times. Zion couldn't find it in her to eat.
Billie and Arkhan sat across from her tentatively watching. If she was to ask what happened yesterday, how would they answer. Zion forced herself to eat, she didn't want to worry about her health, plus she was really hungry.
Monty's entrance into the apartment was loud and Zion was startled at the sound the door made when Monty slammed into it
Monty fell quiet as she noticed Zion at the counter. She looked around and sat on the couch to watch TV. Arkhan moved to the couch and sat next to Monty. She asked Monty where Shiloh was,
"Ok, she's outside. Having a little freak out,"
"Really? What about?"
"I brought up the jail thing again, so she's talking to the boss outside,"
Arkhan nodded and turned back to watch the TV. Shiloh tended to tweak, she wasn't like her uncle who when Shiloh was still living with him, got angry over the smallest things. Dude was lucky she didn't take shit out on him.
Five minutes later, Shiloh came into the apartment and went straight to the fridge. She wanted to act like she didn't notice Zion, but she had to. She looked into the fridge and noticed that her friends had eaten all the food in it.
She turned to Zion.
"Wanna go get groceries?"
Everybody in the room turned to her. Zion was confused but nodded nonetheless.
"Can I change?"
"Yeah, you can just get something from my closet, use the shower in there too,"
Zion blushed and hurried into Shiloh's room. She tried to spend the least time she could taking a shower, then she grabbed a black Ghostbusters t-shirt and some jeans that Shiloh kept but never wore. They were a little baggy on her too. She kept her used clothes on the floor of Shiloh's bedroom. With how messy the room was, she was almost sure she wouldn't get her clothes back.
Before they left, Arkhan stopped Shiloh at the door by calling her name,
"Bitch, did you do the laundry the last time?"
"No..."
"Damn,"
Shiloh turned to Zion,
"On a scale of 1-10, how messy was my room?"
"11?"
"Damn"
Shiloh faced Arkhan again,
"Imma get fabric softener and laundry detergent. Are you gonna do the laundry soon?"
"Depends, when was the last time you did your laundry?"
"Months? I think two,"
"You dirty slut!"
"Really?"
"I've only slept with two people,"
Arkhan and Monty turned to Billie
"What? We didn't fuck,"
Mouths dropped including Zion's as Billie spoke up,
"This is weird, stop staring at me,"
Zion spoke up,
"So who's the second person,"
"What do you mean who's the second person? I vividly remember passing out at Mark's because of what you did,"
"I mean asides from me,"
"Don't make this harder for yourself, we need to talk anyway,"
Shiloh walked out and went straight to her car without looking back. Zion was looking fr a fight and Shiloh wasn't going to give her one.
Zion looked back at the people inside then turned to join Shiloh in the car. Shiloh didn't look at her as she got in but she drove out, hardly letting Zion get her seat belt.
They pulled up to Walmart and Shiloh quickly texted Arkhan to send them a list of shit that they needed. When Arkhan replied shiloh went through the aisles looking for what they needed. She grabbed stuff without checking if Zion was following. She got to the snack aisle and started filling it with stuff for her and her friends. She steadily ignored Zion until she felt a harsh grip on her arm.
Zion turned her around roughly.
"What the fuck is your problem?"
"My problem? What's yours why do you keep trying to make me talk about the people I dated? Do you know how awkward it is especially since you always bring it up when they're there? I've told you, I'm only dating you, but it seems like you're looking for any reason to break up with me. What the fuck happened yesterday?, Why did you go to a party, get intoxicated to the point of passing out without telling me? I had to find out from Arkhan during a video call, and God knows what the fuck would have happened to you if we weren't on facetime when that dude pulled you into some room. Don't act like I'm not doing everything I can for you and you're not taking it for granted!"
Shiloh turned away and moved to the self-checkout to pay for their shit. She loaded it into the car then waited outside for Zion to join her. She waited for half an hour until Zion sent her a text telling her to go without her. They were acting like children, and Shiloh knew but she left her on read and drove off.
As she pulled up to the apartment, Billie came out to help her with the bags. When they were done putting everything away, Billie turned to ask her where Zion was
"She fucked off somewhere, I told her what happened yesterday, well summarized the shits but she stayed in the store and had someone pick her up. Probably Kiran, anyway I'm not talking to her right now, so I have a little time to deal with your problem."
Billie looked away when Shiloh brought up Brandon. She silently spoke up
"Don't kill him,"
"Too late princess,"
Billie sharply looks at Shiloh but all she can gather from the expression on her face is the malice fueled by her fight with Zion.
