Chapter 8.5

Okay, so Billie felt like a bitch. Well she definitely acted like one to Shiloh. And as Shiloh left, she quickly realized that what they were arguing about wasn't worth it. Frankly she didn't want to admit that she was wrong. When she opened the door, she looked to their friends and they slowly joined Billie to enter Shy's room.  They sat around the bed as they waited for Sabrina to pop her head from under the blankets.

"Sab," Mark spoke up first.

"We're always gonna be here for you, I hope you know that,"

"Where's Shy?"

"She left," this came from Billie, who was the one that had made her leave in the first place.

Sab broke into tears again,

"She hates me,"

All the girls and Sid held on to Sabrina in a big hug as she broke down because of Shiloh.

"No she doesn't," Billie cut in

"You weren't here when we were arguing Billie, I said some shit to her."

And Billie was pretty sure she didn't care but she didn't comment further. Shiloh had let when Billie had argued with her, not Sabrina and that little fact left Billie feeling triumphant for getting under her crush's skin.

The rest of her friends tried to soothe Sabrina as she continued to cry. When she had gotten silent she began to tell them how she was sorry she didn't come to them first, she told them that she was scared of what Jacin was going to do to her. Her friends listened intently but Billie was pressed. How long was Sabrina going to let people walk all over her? This was bound to be a repeat of middle school, except one of them could end up dead or in prison.

After explaining what she had to, she begged her friends to get rid of Jacin any way they knew how. After thirty minutes, none of them came up with any ideas, Sab told them to forget it and that she would deal with him during the following weeks to come. After their conversation she was so drained that she fell asleep and when she did all her friends retreated to the living room.

Billie was in her own head as usual as the rest of their friend group discussed what to do about the situation. Sid wanted to threaten Jacin, but Zoe said it was unreasonable because Jacin knew gang members and it didn't matter whether or not he had the money to pay for their services, he had other sources, Mark opted for the police, but Lola said that because he wasn't black there was hardly anything they would do to convict him. Drew offered to pay him to leave Sab alone, but everybody shot her down because if they started paying him, he'd never leave them and would just ask for more money. Billie told them to wait, she said that his shit was more likely to catch up to him sooner or later. And they all hoped sooner meant really soon.

When Shiloh came back, her and Billie argued again, Billie was so pissed she ended up confessing to Shiloh. It was a messy confession but hey, when you're like 6 feet deep in feels, there's not much you can do to control that shit.

She went back to Shiloh's room, to lie down with Sabrina. Sabrina moved a little and asked Billie where Shy was. Billie said she was sleeping in the bathroom, Sabrina turned the other way and fell back asleep. Billie on the other hand couldn't sleep, she was exhausted but she couldn't close her eyes and let sleep find her. It wasn't the first time it happened, she hadn't felt like this in a long time, so what was so different about today. Around 1AM she heard rustling in the kitchen. She figured it had to be Shiloh, but she didn't dare go outside the room to check.

The next morning she watched as Shiloh entered her room. The door closed followed shortly after by moans and tiny gasps that Billie associated with Sabrina, once it started, Billie called Brandon to pick her up. He came over within five minutes and in a flash, without waiting for her friends to ask questions, Billie was out the door. She wasn't going to let herself be sad any longer, nor was she going to wait for someone who didn't want her.
