Toni pov

School 3rd block

"Toni I can't look it's too sad you gone have to do it" Martha spoke looking away from the dead pig we had to dissect

I looked at it... "Marty it doesn't even look like a pig just tell yourself it's like an alien baby or something, or some kind of demon fetus" I spoke drawing

"I don't wanna dissect any of those either, and beside I'll know it's a pig, in my heart" she responded

I moved my drawing over on the dead pig... "it's chilly, I put him to bed" I said

She chuckled

"How messed up is it that we get all these weapons checks and anti-cutting lectures and then boom, they just give us knives" I said holding a knife up

Then Reagan walked in the class and I couldn't take my eyes off her

What is she doing in here, is this her class

I stared at her as she went to the front of the class causing Martha to turn around and look

"Guys Reagan's gonna be joining us, you just transferred in from Pine Ridge a few weeks ago right?" Mr. Gentry asked

"Out of Red Lake" she responded

All I could do is stare at her

"Well, we don't have a spare specimen are partner for you, so sit anywhere you like, and snoop over somebody's shoulder" the Mr. Gentry spoke

"Um, Mr. Gentry, I'm sorry, but I can't, in good conscience like mutilate a pig" Martha spoke

What is she doing

"It's against my religion as a vegetarian" Martha continued causing the class to chuckle

"Martha, you suppose to let me know any moral last week, go to the library" he responded

"Reagan why don't you join Toni" Mr. Gentry spoke pointing to Martha seat as Martha packed up

I gave Martha the death stare

"Have fun" she spoke before walking away

Reagan came and sat down causing me to drop my head

"You know, in history class, they made us watch a movie about the civil war tons of blood and guts" Reagan spoke causing me to look up at her

"And then in gym class they made me jump rope even though I forgot my sports bra, and now what I have to disembowel a pig?" She spoke

"So I guess the real question is like high school just a series of tortures" she spoke causing me to chuckle

I swallowed my spit before talking... "should we fight the power?" I asked... "we have knives" I finished causing her to chuckle and me to smile

Later the bell rung and it was time to go so I packed up

"Um Reagan do you wanna maybe go to the movies with me? " I asked nervously
