Toni pov

Me and Martha was in the living room watching the 100 as I also did work on the laptop

"Marty Shelby wants me and you to go to her house for Sunday dinner with her parents" I spoke

Martha looked confused

"Toni do you think that's a good idea? I mean last time you went you came back upset" she spoke

"I know, but that girl can convince me to do anything" I said rolling my eyes

"Because you're a big softie for her" she responded

"I know, that girl will be the death of me" I spoke chuckled

"Yeah, but I don't know about this Toni" she said

"Don't worry Marty if he say anything to offend you I got your back" I spoke

"No it's not about me, I just don't want whatever he say to effect you and Shelby" she responded

"It won't Marty, I love Shelbs and I know she love me, nothing he say or do will change that" I spoke

"Okay... I hope this go right" she said

"Me too" I responded

Then someone knocked on the door

"It's Shelbs" I spoke

Martha got up to answer the door, Shelby walked through with a bright smile

"Good afternoon y'all" she spoke

"Good afternoon babe" I responded as the same time Martha said "Good afternoon" as she closed the door

"So my daddy give me some money for us to go shopping" she said sitting beside me

She gave me and quick peck on the lips

"And why is that, and why are you telling me?" I asked raising an eyebrow

"Because I want you to go prom dress shopping with me?" She said more as a question

I laughed before saying "let me get this straight... so you my girlfriend want me to go prom dress shopping with you for you to get dress for someone who is not me?" I asked

"I'm not getting dress for him, I'm getting dress for myself" she corrected

"Still, I'll pass" I spoke

"Babeeeee" she whined

"Nope Nope Nope" I responded

"I'll go with you Shelby, I got to pick out my outfit anyways" Martha spoke

"Okay, that's great, do you wanna go now?" She asked

"Sure, Toni you okay here by yourself?" Martha asked

"What am I 12? Yes I'm okay here by myself" I responded

"Well okay, Shelby lemme just go ask my mom for some money" Martha spoke before making her way to Ms. Blackburn room

"I really want you to come" Shelby spoke pouting

"You got Marty, and plus I got work to do" I responded

"Are you sure you not mad at me for going to prom with somebody else?" She asked

"I'm sure babe, I told you I'm fine with it as long as you and him follow the rules" I answered

Martha came back in

"Ready?" She asked

Shelby nodded before speaking to me "don't forget about dinner tonight at 6" she said
