Me: randomly popping back up to write the story with no excuse of being absent

Toni pov

"What the fuck is wrong with you?" Fatin asked as soon as I walked in Martha's house

"Hey to you to" I said looking confused

"Shelby called me crying saying you broke up with her" she said

I looked around looking for Martha

"Don't worry Martha is at the store with her mom" she said

I sighed and sat down on the sofa

"Why the fuck would you break up with her, what happen?" She asked sitting next to me

"It's for the best" I spoke

"Why though?" She asked

"Fatin she told me this story, I can't tell you cause it personal, but she told me how she can lose her family if they find out about us, and I don't wanna put her through that" I answered

"That's her choice to make" Fatin said

"No Fatin, I don't want her to go without a family, I know how it feels to not have a family, yes I always had you the Blackburn's and they felt like family, and yes when you guys came around you guys are my family also, but it still didn't make me forget that everytime the school had a parent day at school everyone was with their parents and I was alone" I said starting to tear up

"Every time when the school had a trip I didn't have anybody to sign my permission slip so I had to stay at school while everybody else was gone, every basketball game, every birthday, I never even had my report card hung up on the refrigerator, the daddy and daughter dances, I wouldn't go if I had a choice but still I never had a one" I said wiping my tears with the bottom of my shirt

"Fatin you, Shelby, Martha, all of you guys had your parents your whole life, you don't know how it feels to not have family, and I don't want Shelby to go through that" I spoke

"She still have plenty of birthdays left, or graduation day, imagine how hurt she would be to not see her family in the stands, I know that I been going through it a while and I should be use to my mother not showing up, but somethings I wish she was at my games, I wish she will go to my graduation, I want her to be there, I want to hug her and say 'mommy I did it', I want to become rich and take care of her and tell her 'mommy I made it', I want that so bad Fatin" I said as tears came down harder

Fatin wrapped her arms around me

"I know, and I sorry you never had those things" she said kissing my head

"I just love Shelby so much, and I don't want to put her through all that, am I wrong for wanting to protect her from what I go through?" I asked

"No, but you need to talk to her, tell her because she's hurt right now thinking you left her because of what she did" Fatin said hugging me tighter

I shook my head... "that's now why I left Fatin" I said

"I know, but you have to tell her that not me" she responded

As I cried in Fatin's arm the door opens and I removed myself quickly and started wiping my tears

"Toni are you crying? What's wrong?" Martha said dropping the grocery bags and running over to me

She hugged me tight

"What's the matter?" Martha whispered

"Nothing, I was just explain to Fatin that how I don't have a mom nor father, and I got I little emotional I guess" I said chuckling

"Are you okay?" She asked looking at with concern in her eyes

I nodded... "I'm fine" I reassured her

"Are you sure?" Asked

I nodded again... "sorry about crying onto you, and for getting deep and emotional, I don't know what got into me" I said feeling embarrassed

"It's okay, Toni don't be embarrassed, crying is normal" Fatin spoke

"Yeah, it's okay to cry" Martha said

"I can be your shoulder to cry on anytime" Fatin said smiling

"Thanks, guys, that's means a lot to me" I responded

"Anytime, but I got to go right now cause I got a hot date tonight" Fatin said getting up

Me and Martha waved at her

"And Toni remember what I said" Fatin said winking before walking out

"What she said?" Martha asked

I shrugged lying cause I knew she wanted me to talk to Shelby

"Are you guys going to help me with the groceries" Mrs Blackburn asked

"Yes ma'am" I said as me and Martha both got up

"Toni sweetheart are you okay?" Mrs Blackburn asked looking both confused and concern

"Yeah I'm fine" I responded as me and Martha both made our way out side to get the groceries
