When Hawks lands on the rooftop, you're already changed back into your hero costume, completely passed out. You used the duffel bag as a pillow and put his jacket on top of you like a blanket. The peaceful sight warms the hero's heart in a questionable way. However, he can't leave you to sleep here.

Gently, he shakes your shoulder, you inhale and open your eyes. His expression is a mixture of happiness and concern, "Hey there sleepy head, why didn't you go home?"

You hum and sit up, placing your right hand on his cheek before turning on your quirk. He didn't even flinch under your touch, becoming awfully familiar with it. Maybe more than he'd like to admit to himself.

"I'm your healer—" you wince as you feel your body develop a few cracked ribs, voice strained as you declare your truth, "I can't leave without finishing the job."

Hawks chuckles, brows creasing together, smile soft on his lips as he shakes his head in your hand, "You're somethin' else kid."

You give him a wide sleepy grin, "Get used to it 'cause I'm not goin' anywhere."

Something tugs at the hero's heart with your words, "I've been meaning to ask you something," you hum in response, he continues, "Back at the agency when I had that shotgun wound...what motivated you to heal me?" He pauses, squinting his eyes slightly. "You collapsed right after, so I can only assume you were already worn out before I arrived."

Your heart does a summersault inside your ribcage, red dusting your cheeks. There's a pause as you try to form the right words to say, "I um....I guess the simple answer would be getting to be your healer."

The raise of his brow tells you he's not entirely buying it. You sigh, "And...I want to show you a day where you can be yourself." Withdrawing your hand, you cough awkwardly, avoiding eye contact as you hand him back his jacket.

The hero tilts his head to the side, standing up and slipping on his jacket. A hesitant look takes over his features. "That's a heavy burden to carry on your shoulders, kid.....But, seeing as I've already hired you I can't exactly stop you now can I?" He crosses his arms over his chest, flashing you a charming smirk.

Something about this just couldn't sit right with him.

You stand up, slipping the duffle bag over your shoulder, "I'm afraid not. You're stuck with me now."

Hawks shrugs, looking away from you. "Well, I could fire you..." His voice trails off, as when his gaze returns to yours, the look of shock on your face is priceless. Bringing a cocky smirk to the hero's lips.

You softly punch his shoulder, "Not funny Hawks!" He bursts out laughing, holding his stomach.

You take off into the sky, causing the hero to call after you, "Common now! I was only messing with you!" He chuckles to himself.

Ignoring the hero doesn't serve you well as vermillion wings stop you from flying any further. Your face meets his as you both flap your wings to stay in the air, "At least let me be a gentleman and escort you home." His expression is serious, though his stance seems carefree.

One hand shoved in his pocket, the other extended towards you. It's a welcoming gesture, and that gentle look in his eyes let's on to one thing: Hawks' intentions are pure.
