Author's Note: Hello! So, I just wanted to say thank you for at least taking a chance with this book. I really hope you like it, and if you do plz shower many votes on it. Now- to the chapter- Surprising School....

"Wake up, it's the first day of school Claire!" My mother yelled. I lazily got out of bed. It wasn't that I didn't like school, It was just that I wasn't a morning person. I got ready and we reached school. I looked at what class I needed to go to and started heading to it. My first class was Humanities, with Mrs. Florist.

I loved Humanities. I liked writing and loved to learn about the history and geography of places. The only thing that I didn't like about humanities was grammar. I took my seat in class. Mrs. Florist smiled. "Today we will be learning about grammar! The first thing you should learn in Humanities, in my point of view."

Aww no! This is going to be so boring! I already know what a noun, a verb, and an adjective is! Oh well.... I kind of listened during class, and aced the worksheet she passed. My next class was math class, with Ms. Bee. She was really fun to work with! She taught us how to do operations with fractions. During lunch, I sat next to my two best friends- Susan and Dilya. There were so awesome! After lunch, I had my other classes.

As I walked up to my locker, Susan and Dilya walked up to me. "Open the locker," Dilya ordered. Why was she saying this... Oh wait. She's going to prank me. Susan, as usual, was clueless of what that meant. I asked her if she could open it. Susan was kind, so of course she said yes. Susan walked over to the locker, and started turning the lock.

My friends know my locker combination, because I'm horrible at opening lockers. I stepped back cautiously, and Dilya already started to laugh. Susan just looked at her with a puzzled face. She opened the locker, and I covered my face. Out of the locker, came two pounds of pudding- Straight onto Susan's face.

I started to laugh. It was unkind of me to get Susan to be the target, but hey, I didn't want to come home with a face of pudding. Susan's face became as red as a tomato, and she shouted, "Guys!" I ran off, and Dilya followed me. Susan may look all nice, but she's actually a black belt in karate.

At the beginning of the next day, Susan forgave us. That's great. I didn't have to watch out for a karate kick during the day. After the forgiving, Susan and I asked Dilya where she had gotten all that pudding. It looked old. "Oh, my family does pudding for dessert during Christmas. Last year we didn't have many guests so their was a lot of pudding left. I knew it was perfect for a prank. So I hid it and told mom that I had thrown it away," She explained. I felt like gagging. Right now it's August. Which means that the pudding was about 7 months old. I felt so bad for Susan.

As I walked into Mrs. Florist's class, she smiled at me like normal. Though I felt there was something odd about her smile. It wasn't like her usual smile. It had an evil glint to it. I don't know why, but I sure do know that I'm scared. I quietly sat down in my seat, and class started.

Class was also a bit different today. Mrs. Florist always seemed to call on others, and ignore me. When she finally did call on me, I told the answer. Her reply to it was different too. Instead of "Good job!", she said, "Wow Claire. You elemental kids are going to be of so use later on. I'm going to be famous because of you!" I don't know what she meant by "elemental", but I know that this is all too odd. I needed to talk to Ms. Bee.

After everyone went out of the math classroom, I walked up to Ms. Bee.

"I need your help Ms. Bee," I said.

"Yes, Claire? Ask anything you want," She replied.

"I need to talk to you about Mrs. Florist," I announced.

"Oh Claire! You know that teachers cannot discuss about other teachers to their students in this school!" Ms. Bee chuckled.

"This is important though," I commented, with a serious look on my face. Ms. Bee's look completely changed after I said that. She nodded, and I told her everything. How Mrs. Florist grinned, how she acted all odd. How she said elemental, how she was all nice before and then cruel now.

"I had suspected she was one of the monsters," I heard Ms. Bee mumble.
"What?" I asked. My hearing needed slight improvement.
Ms. Bee shook her head. "Nothing Claire. I guess Mrs. Florist is just upset about something," She ensured. I just nodded, and walked out of the classroom. All the teachers loved me as a student! What happened to Mrs. Florist?

The next day I stood outside Mrs. Florist's door, and slowly opened it. I am going to just ignore all her oddness. I walked into the class. Mrs. Florist smiled at me. She did her new smile- A grin smile. I just smiled back, and sat in my seat. Mrs. Florist passed out something. I looked at it. Oh my goodness! This is what it said on the paper-
POP QUIZ ON GREEK MYTHOLOGY!

Oh no! I knew nothing about Greek mythology! I'm going to fail! I have never failed in my life! I stared at the first question. Who is the god of water? I just looked at it. How was I supposed to know that? I mean, seriously?

I heard a voice in my head that said, "Its Poseidon, obviously." I trusted the voice inside my head. It was the only chance of me succeeding on this quiz. I kept writing down the stuff the voice told me.

You people must be thinking, why have you not yet thought about who the voice in your head is? I thought of that. I just had to first finish my pop quiz. I handed my quiz to Mrs. Florist. She looked it over, and her eyes started to grow wider and wider as she checked the answers. I bet she was amazed. She must be so surprised that I got almost everything correct. I might even get a 100 on this quiz! Yay!

"Come with me, Ms. Denise," Mrs. Florist smirked. Mrs. Florist took me to the principal's office. Why was I going to the principal's office? I didn't do anything wrong! Mrs. Florist looked at the principal, and he immediately rushed out of the office. Why was the principal scared of my humanities teacher? WHAT WAS HAPPENING?

Mrs. Florist grabbed my shoulder. "Close your eyes, little girl, because you're about to die!" Mrs. Florist commanded. What? I was about to die? Why was Mrs. Florist about to kill me? The teacher's hands turned into claws and her teeth became fangs. Mrs. Florist pushed her fangs into my shoulder. I screamed out of pain. I stood there defenseless while my teacher who's now a monster attacked me. I kept thinking of what to do but my vision was becoming blurry.

I had lost too much blood. The monster's wicked laugh haunted me. She kept poking her claws into my body. It was the worst feeling ever. I passed out. I had lost too much blood. The last things I heard before I passed out was Ms. Bee coming in and the monster saying, "Not you again!"
