Threatenings

I looked at my tracker, keeping check of when Nick would finally reach Paris. We were still in the bakery, and I was eating a chocolate croissant. I remembered when I use to take French class in school, and the food unit.

French class was always before lunch for me, so during the food unit I would always get hungry and tell my teacher, J'ai faim (I'm hungry). One day, the teacher even brought in for the class- hot chocolate and chocolate croissants! That was one of the best French classes ever! We just sat in our chairs, eating.

The teacher also talked about daily French diet though... It was still fun! I looked at my tracker again. The dot was very close to Paris, Nick will arrive in just 30 minutes. I told everyone the news.

A sudden beeping sound came from the tracker. There was yet another message.

Hello Ms. Denise,
I want you to come to Île de la Cité by 6:30. If you do not arrive, you can say goodbye to your little friend.
Your new master because you obviously will surrender to save Nick,
Tornado

I started to choke on my water. Ms. Bee asked, concerned, "What happened Claire? Are you ok?" I showed her the tracker and her mouth flew open. Mr. Snooks snatched the tracker from Ms. Bee's hands. His face became just like Ms. Bee's. Cuckoo! Cuckoo! The looked around to see a cuckoo clock.

"Je l'ai acheté de l'Allemagne, Mademoiselle," the cafe lady came to me and said. (She got the clock from Germany.) Oh, so she went to Germany. I nodded and smiled. That covered my worry and fear face. I looked at the clock and saw that it was already 5:30. How am I ever going to reach there in time? I rushed out of the cafe and headed to the train station. I hurriedly got a ticket and hopped onto the train.
After about and hour, the train stopped at Île de la Cité, an island in the middle of Paris. I ran out of the train and searched for Nick. My feet wouldn't stop. I just had to find Nick, at any cost. "CLAIRE WAIT UP!" Ms. Bee yelled. I kept running though. Finally, I found it. It was a nice building. Although there were not any people in it. Maybe the store closed but Tornado somehow got in. Anyways, I opened the door and entered. I gasped. Tornado was holding Nick by the neck, and Nick was unconscious. "Come to my side or Nick will die," Tornado threatened. I hesitated. There must be a way to get out of here, without surrendering. "Claire, Ms. Bee and I are here. Maybe you could use us. Yes, I can speak into your mind. You can also talk back to me. Taton granted me another superpower just in case I needed it," Mr. Snooks thought... Or spoke into my mind. I thought about it quickly. I didn't exactly have time. I got it! I told my mentors the plan through my mind. "Ok," Mr. Snooks replied. Time to do my plan.
"Fine, I surrender Tornado. Now put Nick down," I stated. Tornado smiled and handed me a drink. "Go ahead and drink it," He commanded. I put it near my mouth and suddenly moves my hand slowly down. This was the drink Nick and told me about! The drink that could control people's minds! That's why Lulu didn't even think about joining our side! Wait.. Where was Lulu? Did Ms. Bee bring her along? I asked her the question. "Yes, she's still on my back," Mr. Snooks assured. Tornado grinned at me, "Ahh... My little servant. Now, when I get back Lulu, and get the other special, I'll have a little army!" He laughed. Oh great... Now I had to act like I serve Tornado.
Before Tornado could make me do something, I signaled through my mind to Mr. Snooks to come on in. Mr. Snooks super-speeded through the door and swirled around Tornado. Tornado got all dizzy, and during that time, Ms. Bee flew in and grabbed Nick. She went away with Nick so he wouldn't get hurt. "Ok Mr. Snooks, time for the last step!" I screamed. Mr. Snooks stopped swirling. I stepped up to Tornado and said, "GAME OVER." I took out my knife and when I was about to hit Tornado, he smiled wickedly, and replied, "Not yet, little girl. I still have some tricks up my sleeve." I was about to say what, but I looked down and saw that Tornado had disappeared.
"How?" I asked. Mr. Snooks stared at me with a frightened look and said, "He's done something. That potion, is dangerous. Also, I think... He... Taton..." Mr. Snooks stammered. "Complete the sentence," I continued. "I think Taton is in danger. The only way you could get another superpower is by asking Taton. I think Taton is captured and Tornado is forcing him to give himself more superpower. Soon, he might even be more powerful than a special," He said. I felt like my heart was being ripped. If he became stronger than a special, we were all doomed.
Ms. Bee came into the room and behind her, was Nick. I ran up to him and hugged him tight. "Never leave Nick. I was so worried about you. You could have died!" I said through my tears. Nick's cold arms hugged me back. I smiled at him. It's so great to see him again. Nick smiled back at me. "Anyone up for a campfire?" Mr. Snooks questioned. We all nodded. We were extremely hungry. I chewed on my s'more. Ms. Bee had all the supplies for making them in her backpack. She was always really prepared. Nick and I sat by the campfire. In that moment, I realized something. This whole journey, these guys had become a part of me. We all cared for each other. They were like my family now.
