The remaining members of the Fellowship made our way to the elven city of Lothlórien. The queen of the Elves, Galadriel resided there. It was a somber trek, the hole Gandalf left was apparent.
We stayed the night in the elven city because of the Orcs that were roaming around. I attempted to sleep soundly in my soft bed. I was exhausted from the trying day we had. I would miss Gandalf, he was wise and a kind friend, and something told me that he wasn't really dead. Eventually I succumbed to my subconscious and I began to dream. Frodo, myself, and a small ghoulish creature were trekking up a mountain of fire. I saw the creature attack Frodo and bite off one of his fingers! The creature then proceeded to prowl after me and tried to kill me. I see you a misty voice plagued my subconscious. "No! You're not real!" I screamed. "Daisy of the Shire, you will perish with your friends." the voice grew louder and louder. "NO!! STOP!!" I yelled frantically. "DON'T HURT HIM!!" "GET AWAY FROM ME!!!"
I woke up still in Lothlórien and I sobbed like a child. That nightmare terrified me beyond belief. To calm myself down I decided to take a walk and explore the beautiful city I was in. I heard faint music from a mandolin playing and I was amazed by the flowing rivers of water that seemed to shimmer. Lothlórien had a warm and inviting feeling.
I sat by the fountains and relaxed as I listened to the rippling water. Warm and peaceful thoughts came over me and my fears faded away. "You have so much fear in you, don't let it take over." a voice interrupted my thoughts. Galadriel had been watching me, an ethereal white glow surrounded her. "How did you know?" I asked the elven queen. "I can sense it in your heart." she said. "I'm just worried that I'll keep losing more people I love; Frodo especially. The burden he carries could kill him." my heart ached at the thought of losing him. "Your love for Frodo is inspiring. People often underestimate the power of love." she escorted me to a small pool in which she poured water from a small pitcher. "How?" I asked. I was just so amazed by how much she knew. "Look into the mirror, and see what your future holds." Galadriel told me. I looked down and saw what folded before me.
Frodo and I were walking together holding hands, we were in our favorite spot in Hobbiton. He kissed me and he produced a ring from his pocket, but it wasn't the cursed ring we were trying to destroy. Frodo had asked me to be his wife! The water rippled and then an image of us with children was revealed; and I realized that the children were ours. "Will this happen?" I asked hopefully. "Yes little one. That's what awaits you if you're brave and strive to be strong. Frodo needs you on his quest; you will be the heart he needs to destroy the ring." said Galadriel. "He loves you so much." she added. I looked up to where Frodo was watching and smiled. "Daisy of the Shire, you have so much strength in you. It's your job to find it." Galadriel smiled a motherly smile. "Thank you." I smiled.
After my conversation with Galadriel, I went back up the stairs to go back to sleep, but I decided to sit against one of the shimmering trees and take in the beauty. Frodo saw me and he smiled. I got up and ran towards him and hugged him. He held me close and kissed me. I returned the kiss, "It seems like it's been a lifetime since we were alone together." I touched his face. "I've missed those times." he stroked my face. "Have you been doing alright?" we sat together underneath the tree. I leaned my head on his shoulder and he stroked my hair. "Yes, but it's all been overwhelming." "I can't imagine." I said snuggling up to him. He kissed my forehead, "The wonderful thing is that I have you with me. I'm so glad to be with you." he smiled at me. I blushed, "I'm glad to be with you too, my love." I kissed him. I looked him in the eyes, "Frodo, I will be with you every step of this journey. You won't be alone," I touched his face, "You're not alone. I love you so much." "Thank you," his face was glowing with gratitude. "I love you." he whispered. I snuggled up to him once again and he kissed me lovingly, and we spent the rest of the night talking; which was the happiest we had felt in a long time.
