Frodo and I rowed to a small island under a mountain. We both set up camp for the night; I gathered firewood while Frodo was fishing for our dinner.  After a while, Frodo was able to catch fish and I cooked it. We ate both fish because we were both so hungry. "How are you feeling?" I asked in between bites of fish. "Better than I was, the rings' power still tempts me." Frodo replied. I touched his hand, and he laced his fingers with mine. "I'm glad to be with you." he smiled. I leaned my head on his shoulder, "I'm glad to be with you too." the warmth of the fire and his embrace made me feel safe. "I love you."
We stayed close by the fire and I fell asleep on his shoulder.

I woke up the next morning and Frodo was still asleep. I heard small footsteps that seemed to be coming down the rocks, and there was a raspy voice saying, "We must finds the precious!" "Gollum! Gollum!" "There's two little hobbitses let's eat them!" "Now now precious, we needs them. Then we eats them." The voice cackled madly.

I scrambled for my sword for self defense. "Frodo, wake up!" I warned. He listened and grabbed for Sting. We both were equipped with defense from the approaching creature.
Gollum was now in full view, he looked ghoulish from my nightmare, his eyes were big and a cold dead blue. He only had a few pieces of hair on his head, and he bared his nine teeth. I knew he used to be a hobbit, but the ring made him wither away into a monster.

"You've been following us, have you. Gollum." Frodo pointed his sword at the creature. "Gollum! Gollum!" he croaked. Gollum screamed in agony because he was remembering the sword that almost killed him sixty years ago. "We doesn't want to hurts you hobbitses. We wants to help you." Gollum protested. "I thought you wanted the ring." I didn't lower my sword. "No no precious, we wants to helps you destroys it: we'll takes you two to Mordor. We knows the way." "You know the way?" Frodo asked. "Yes, we'll gets you there! We'll gets you there!" Gollum danced around happily. "If you hurt us, there's no taking it back." I threatened. He nodded and bounded up ahead on all fours. "Come on! We haven't gots all days!"
Frodo and I looked at each other, shrugged and followed the creature.
"Your name was Sméagol wasn't it." Frodo told Gollum after we were walking for a while. "What did you call me?" Gollum's eyes widened in surprise. "You were once a hobbit like us." "We doesn't remembers." Gollum bent his head down in shame.
"Maybe you can find your memories somewhere." I suggested. "It's been a long times." Gollum seemed surprised that we were showing compassion to him.
He was using that to his advantage for his sick plan.
