I was baffled that we were taking the trust of Gollum, because he was probably planning on how he was going to eat us. Frodo didn't seem to be that afraid of him, and I trusted Frodo. He was the Ring Bearer.
However, I was grateful that Frodo took my concerns into consideration; to comfort me whenever Gollum was around us, he would lace my fingers with his and we would stay close together. I felt safe holding his hand. "I'll never leave you." he whispered to me and he kissed me. "We'll stick together." I smiled and returned the kiss. "How sweet." Gollum growled under his breath. "Be nice precious." he was now having an argument with himself. "Shut up!" he screamed at himself. "We didn't say anything." I told Gollum. "I wasn't talking to you." he scowled. Why was he talking under his breath?
Gollum led us to a dark mountain known as the Mountain of Shadow. "We must go through the tunnelses of the mountain, but we mustn't wakes her." the creature grinned evilly at us. "Wake who?" Frodo asked. Gollum just giggled and ran off into the tunnel, leaving me and Frodo alone in the dark.We hesitantly stepped into the tunnel and Frodo used his light from Galadriel to guide our way through. "Sméagol!" he called the creature by his real name. No answer; that wasn't a good sign. "Sméagol!" I called with reservations. "Down here precious!" The creature called in the distance. Just then, we heard a clicking noise that gave me the chills. "She's awake!" Gollum cackled.
There in front of us was a gigantic spider! Shelob! Frodo and I drew our swords and prepared to fight the monster.
Shelob made a horrible shrieking noise and charged at us. We slashed at the spider and she narrowed her beady eyes at us, and she bared her fangs. I raised my sword and slashed one of her legs, and suddenly she grabbed Frodo!! "DAISY!" he shouted for me. "FRODO!" I picked up the light that he dropped and I raised my sword to run after the spider. I never ran as fast as I did in my entire life. "Let him go, beast!" I yelled.
I raised the light to the spiders' face and she screeched and tried to bite me! I clanged my sword against her teeth and she yowled in pain. I slashed her in the face and shined the light once again. She screamed and ran away.To my horror, I saw that she wrapped Frodo in a cocoon of webs. I used my sword to free him from his trap, but his eyes were wide with shock, and he wasn't moving. I used all my strength to drag him out of the tunnels and we made it to light. "Frodo...Frodo." I patted his face gently to get him to come to. "Darling...We made it out." I cut the rest of the webs off of him and he took a deep breath like he was submerged under water for a long time. "Daisy?" he sat up from the webs. I smiled "Welcome back," I held him and stroked his hair. We had learned to cherish each other as we have both have been inches from death. "What happened?" he was a little disoriented. "Shelob almost got you, she wrapped you in her webs, but I got you out in time." I stroked his face. "Thank you Daisy, thank you." he kissed me. We both kissed each other as if it was for the last time. "We need to get away from Sméagol, he almost got us killed." I warned him. He nodded, "I agree, let's go."
We gathered our weapons and the ring and continued our trek up Mount Doom.
