Chapter Fifty-One

The Next Day

3rd POV

The Saltzman home was experiencing an exciting morning, everyone was getting ready for the busy day ahead of them. Kenna and Ric get breakfast ready for the family while the kids are getting ready and dressed for the day.

Currently Upstairs

"I can't believe we didn't wake up! You've got to sneak out of here!" Emery says hurrying to put on her pajamas as Kaleb chuckles putting on his own clothes.

"Don't worry, I'll go through the window and no one will see me." He says going over to pull her into his arms. She smiles up at him rolling her eyes a little.

"I can't believe I let you talk me into you coming over here."

"You got to admit, you missed me. I missed you for sure." He smiles down at her as she sighs nodding.

"Fine, I might have missed you, a little." She giggles as he kisses her. They pull apart at a knock at Emery's door.

"Em, are you awake? Why is there a spell on your room!" They hear Lizzie say through the door.

The couple freezes, Emery acts and starts pushing Kaleb towards her balcony to jump out. "Oh shit, Go!" She says as he gives her a final kiss and speeds out.

Emery rushes to her door before Lizzie can yell again opening it to find her sister there with questioning eyes.

"Why is your door spelled? And why aren't you dressed yet?" She asks coming into the room.

"I overslept." Emery smiles avoiding the first question as she smiles at Lizzie who is looking around her room.

"Emery, why are you avoiding my question?" She asks as Emery smiles and shakes her head.

"No reason, Lizzie, now why don't you let me get ready and I'll meet you downstairs in a bit." She says as Lizzie stares at her slowly.

"Fine, but I know you're trying to hide something. And when you're ready to tell me I'll be here." She says making her smile.

"Thanks, Liz." She says closing the door on her sister letting out a breath.

Once the family is together downstairs enjoying their breakfast and waiting for Hope and the Mikaelson's to arrive Kenna can feel some of the tension coming from Jace and Emery.

"Guys, if this is too much too soon or if you're uncomfortable, I can ask them not to come," Kenna says to the twins as they smile at her.

"It's okay, mom. Today isn't for us, it's for Hope and she should be able to have her family around her." Emery says as they both nod.

"And it's good practice for her party, being around them and trying not to kill our biological father," Jace says making the family chuckle.

"I'm proud of you, and if it ever becomes too much, I want you to know we can leave at any time, don't be afraid to break the itinerary, Lizzie would understand." Kenna smiles as Lizzie nods. 

"For anyone else, I'd chop their heads off for even considering it, but you two are allowed to break it, you're lucky I love you," Lizzie says making the group chuckle at the girl's antics. 

Kol smiles seeing so much of Kenna in the young blonde, "I've got to say, seeing a good fight would be entertaining but I don't think it will happen, last night's dinner went well and he didn't even send Ric a glare!" 

"Let's hope that sticks for a while," Kenna says letting the family go back to a normal conversation with one another enjoying their breakfast. Lizzie looks to Emery curiously while letting in Josie and Alec on what happened that morning while the twins go back to their own conversation. 

"Do you think anythings going on with Em?" Lizzie whispers to the other two as they look at her curiously. 

"Like what?" Josie asks looking at her town curiously. 

"Like keeping something from us? Tell me that the way she was acting this morning wasn't suspicious." Lizzie says with a determined look to her two siblings. 

"I wouldn't say suspicious," Alec says as Lizzie looks at him questionably.

"What do you mean?" 

"Think about it, Liz," He says letting Lizzie sit and think as Josie looks to him curiously. 

"You already know why she was acting like that, don't you," Josie whispers to him practically hearing where Lizzie was wracking her brain for an answer. 

"I've had my suspicions, but I didn't know till a few days ago, now I'm just waiting for Emery to tell us herself." He says as realization dawns on Josie's face. 

"Ohh, does Jace know?" She asks as he shakes his head and makes them both chuckle thinking about how Jace would react to his twin sister being with someone. 

"You know, you're a really amazing brother, Alec." Josie smiles at him making him brightly smile at her. 

"Thanks, Jos," giving her forehead a kiss before looking over to Lizzie who was still staring intently at Emery. 

The doorbell brings the family out of their conversations as Ric stands along with Kol heading to open the door. Opening the door they were expecting to find Hope, Rebekah, Keelin, and Freya but along with them, they find the rest of the family as well being Marcel, Elijah, and Klaus. 

"Come on in everyone, did you guys have breakfast?" Ric says as the family walks into the living room. 

"We've eaten, thank you, we were actually just going to drop off the girls but thought it would be wise to tag along," Elijah says as the two men nod. 

"Of course it was your idea, brother," Kol chuckles. 

"Alright, make yourselves comfortable, we'll be right back and be ready to go." Ric smiles lightly at the group before taking Kol by the ear and dragging him back to the dining room. 

"Ow, ow, ow, ow, Ric, ouch," Kol lets out as the family chuckles lightly as they disappear into the next room. Once they walk in, the others look at the two laughing at the antics of the two men. 

"Are you two done?" Davina chuckles out as they nod. 

"The Mikaelsons are here, are you guys ready to go?" Ric says as the family nods picking up the table and their plates and heading to the kitchen. 

"Guess what?" Kenna smiles at the two men giving Davina a smile. 

"What?" They both say together smiling widely excitedly. 

"You two get to do the dishes." She says as the two groan before heading towards the kitchen knowing that any whining would just give them more chores from the women.

Once the family was ready and everything was cleaned they headed out to the living room where the Mikaelsons were patiently waiting chatting with each other but smiled lightly towards the others as they walked in. 

"Alright, let's get going, I've got a schedule I'd like to keep, you guys can follow us, Alec has the places I want to go to memorized," Lizzie says as the large group heads out of the house and to separate vehicles. With Davina, Kol, Ric, and Kenna in one, Emery, Jace, Alec, Lizzie, and Josie in another, and the Mikaelsons in the ones they came in.
