Chapter Nineteen

At the Party

Kenna's POV

I'm walking back into the party and head over to the Gang, "Where's Ric?" I ask.

"He said he was going to go check on you to make sure you were okay," Matt says.

I turn around to go find him when I see him walking in and headed to me, "You were outside?"

"Yeah, I wanted to make sure you were feeling okay, but then I saw you talking with Klaus and just wanted to make sure you were safe." He says smiling down at me.

"I'm guessing that means you heard everything we said," I say.

He smiles at me before pulling me into a hug, "Yeah, I heard, I love you too, Ken,"

"WHAT?! Did It Finally Happen??" I hear someone practically shout behind us and right away know it has to be Lizzie.

I turn to see all the kids they're looking at us, smiling and Josie jumping up and down with Emery as Lizzie is just waiting for us to answer.

"Well, if you must know, yes, your father finally asked me out," I say as the kids cheer and come to congratulate us.

"Finally! Oh and Uncle Matt you owe me fifty bucks!" Jace says as he goes over to Matt who hands him money.

"What? You put money on us?" I ask.

"Of course I did, Matt said you would ask Dad out before he did, but I knew Dad would do it," He says as the gang just laugh while I roll my eyes at how childish my son could be.

"I hear congratulations are in order?" Elijah says as I turn around to see the entire Mikaleson clan behind us.

"Yes, Thank you, Elijah, and who might the new people be?" I ask seeing new faces with them than the last time I went to say hi to the family.

"Yes, they were running a little late, this is Keelin, Freya's wife, and Marcellus, Rebekah's boyfriend." He explains.

"Marcellus? As in Klaus' Marcel?" I ask.

"That would be me, I didn't think he talked about me," Marcel says.

"Not often, you're with Rebekah? How did you get away with that?" I ask laughing as he and the family except for Klaus laugh as well.

"Let's just say it took a lot of convincing and some bloodshed." He says as I just nod.

"It nice to meet you two, this is my family, Damon, Elena, their daughter Stefanie, Bonnie, my sister Caroline, Matt and Ric, these are our children, Lizzie and Josie, it's their birthday today, Alec, Jace and Emery." I introduced, I never thought about it but I have a pretty big family.

"It's nice to meet you all," Keelin says with a smile.

"I'm guessing these two are yours?" Marcel says to Klaus after looking to Jace and Emery, as they both roll their eyes.

"Yes, these are the twins," Klaus says.

"Welcome to the Mikaelson family, they're crazy so good luck," Marcel says.

"We aren't Mikalesons, we have our own legacies," Emery says.

"Sorry, love, but you're a Mikaelson by blood, whether you want to be or not," Klaus says making the twins upset.

"We may be your biological children but we have our mother and fathers legacy," Jace says

"Klaus, please stop, I was kind enough to keep the peace by letting you and your family come to the party but I will not stand to let you upset my children and ruin my girls' night," I say holding onto Jace's hand wanting him to stay calm.

"Of course, Kenna, please forgive my brother, we will excuse ourselves now," Elijah says as he practically has to pull Klaus away.

"Well that was intense," Damon says trying to break the tension, and it works with us chuckling.

"I'm sorry about that guys, why don't you kids go enjoy the party," I say not wanting what happened to ruin the twins night.

The kids go off to dance and have fun again as the rest of the gang continues laughing and dancing a little but mostly them just awwing at anything that Ric and I do. When the party is finally coming to a stop, Kol comes up to stay goodbye along with Davina, Hope, and Hayley.

"Hey, Ken, were heading out and I just wanted to congratulate you again and say goodbye," he says giving me a hug.

"Thank you, Koala, and take care of this one, she's a special one," I say giving Davina a hug.

"You've got that right," He says putting his arm around her.

"Thank you for having me, Ms.Forbes," Hope says staying next to her mother.

"No problem, Hope, I hope you enjoyed yourself," I say as she just nods with a small smile.

"I just wanted to say that I'm sorry, Kenna, and to thank you for not taking it out on my daughter," Hayley says.

"It's all in the past and I could never blame your child, and without you, I wouldn't have everything I do today," I say with a small smile, Hayley just nods as they head over to the rest of their family.

I turn to go help Ric with cleaning up when someone grabs my wrist and I turn to the see one and only, "What now, Klaus?"

"I just wanted to say my goodbye's, I'm sure you'll tell the twins I said goodbye," he says with a smirk.

"Klaus, they have made themselves clear, they don't want you to be a part of their lives, maybe that'll change but you have to give them time, why can't you accept that?" I say finally becoming annoyed with his stubbornness.

"They are our children, Kenna, ours, and they have to accept that I am their father, not Alaric, I will keep fighting for you and what we had and for the twins, because they are the product of our love," He says with a look that made me kinda scared to think of what he might do.

"They may have your DNA, but to them, you are not their father, and maybe one day they'll allow you in, but like I told you before, I am in love with Ric, there is nothing you could ever do to change that, I'm sorry Klaus but you need to let go, I am no longer the girl that you knew or the girl you fell in love with, I've changed," I say pulling away from him.

"Please, leave Klaus, I want to spend what's left of my daughters' birthday with my family," I say walking away and towards Ric whos now with the kids helping them tame Kaleb and MG from another dance battle.
