Chapter Thirty One

3rd POV

Kenna was in her office waiting for Ric to come in with their usual lunch. She was lost in thought thinking about how much she wanted everything to just go back to normal.

She was woken from her thoughts by a knock at the door, not wanting to stand up to open the door she uses her powers to have the wind open them up. In walks Klaus and Elijah alone to her surprise.

"How can I help you two?" She says hoping that there won't be any drama.

"I wanted to come and apologize to you, Kenna." Klaus says shocking her even more.

"I'm here to make sure he behaves himself." Elijah says making Kenna chuckle.

"I'm sorry, Kenna, I apoligize for compelling you and forcing you and the twins to come to dinner and I'm sorry for the way I talked to them." He says as Kenna nods.

"Thank you Klaus, but you also need to apologize to the twins, I won't accept an apology on their behalf."

"I understand, I do hope that you can one day trust me again but I understand that you've fallen for someone else." Klaus says with a little anger still upset that he's lost Kenna.

"Babe! I got the food!" They hear Ric yelling before even coming into the office. Once he enters the office and sees the two Mikaelson brothers he slowly sets the plates down and heads over to Kenna.

"What's going on?" He asks putting his hand on her shoulder for support.

"We are just here to apologize and now that he's done that, we're leaving." Elijah says seeing Klaus jaw clench when Ric put his hand on Kenna.

"Yes, we were just leaving, I hope to see you again soon." Klaus says smiling at Kenna as he and Elijah turn to leave.

"Also, Klaus, keep Hayley away from me and my family, she is no longer welcomed here unless it's for Hope." Kenna says as they turn around shocked.

"Kenna, I'm sure if you let Hayley explain we can come to an understanding, she's a big part of our lives." Elijah says hoping for peace between the two women he cares about.

"No Elijah, I do not wish to speak to or ever see Hayley again, her hatred for me and my children is uncalled for and I don't trust her near my family." Kenna says as Elijah looks saddened by what she was saying.

"Maybe if we got together, all of us, we can all talk and-" Klaus says as Ric cuts him off.

"We don't trust her near our kids so if you two can just respect that and keep her away, that would be great." Ric says as Klaus has an angry look but just nods not wanting to anger Kenna after just apologizing.

"We understand, goodbye now." Elijah says as he and Klaus leave the office.

Kenna looks up to Alaric and smiles and he rolls his eyes knowing what she's going to say.

"Yes, I got the extra pickles!" He says going to get the two plates as she laughs.

"Thank you, baby!" She says as they start to eat their lunch.

The Mikaelson Home 

The two Mikaelson brothers finally make it home to see their family waiting for them.

"How did it go?" Rebekah asks as the family comes to meet the two.

"Better than I expected our brother apologized, Kenna accepted and he didn't scream or yell at any point." Elijah says.

"Well that's a first for him." Marcel says as Klaus glares at him.

"Yes but it seems that Kenna is really hurt and angry by what happened that she doesn't want Hayley to go anywhere near her, the kids, or the school, unless it has to do with Hope." Klaus says as Hayley rolls her eyes.

"She should be afraid of me, like I'd want to go anywhere near her." Hayley says as everyone just nods not knowing what to say seeing the hatred in Hayleys eyes.

"I have a question, why do you hate her so much?" Keelin asks not being able to handle the curiosity.

"She thinks she's perfect and she thinks I stole her life when I didn't force Klaus to sleep with me he decided to." Hayley says rolling her eyes.

"So you and Kenna were engaged and then you slept with Hayley? Why?" Keelin says confused as Rebekah laughs.

"He asks himself that everyday." Rebekah says as Klaus just glares.

"It was an accident." Klaus says.

"Yeah and now she can't get over it. It's not like he broke up with her, she did." Hayley says.

"After he cheated." Rebekah says.

"His choice once again and she doesn't like the rest of them because they left her for New Orleans." Hayley says smirking.

"We didn't leave her, so much was happening that we didn't have time." Rebekah says sad thinking about how Kenna thought they abandoned her.

"You all had time, you could have made time or even a simple phone call or text would have sufficed." Keelin says as the three siblings nod thinking about how they could have reached out.

"We can't change that now so we'll just have to wait till she trusts us again." Elijah says trying to make his siblings feel better.

"But it'll never be the same, look at how she acts with us and the way she acts with Kol and Davina. She invited them in, trusted them in her home, in her school and with her children, we'll never get that with her." Rebekah says tearing up.

"You don't need it, you have your own family, you have Marcel. We don't need Kenna." Hayley says.

"You don't understand, she was my best friend, my sister and I'll never have the relationship that we had again. Elijah loved her like a sister, they always took care of each other, she was always there for him to lean on when he needed someone. Klaus, he loved her so much, and she changed him for the better. You should have seen him before Kenna, he was unbearable." Rebekah explains as the family listens to the change and happiness that Kenna had brought the siblings before it was ruined.

"She sounds like she meant a lot to you guys and meeting her you could just feel her light and power. She is someone amazing." Freya says as Hayley rolls her eyes.

"Too bad she'll never trust you guys again." Hayley says as she leaves the room smirking.
