The Next Morning (Night of the Full Moon)

Emery's POV

After the events of last night I didn't think I would be up for today but waking up with my sisters and Hope around me helped. Mom came to check on me and the girls wanting to see if I felt okay after yesterdays events. They didn't treat me like I was glass and was about to break but instead understood me, especially Lizzie. Last night had scared me for sure, my anger has gotten away from me many times but I usually always get a hold of it or have my siblings to help me calm down. Lizzie and I were the unlucky ones that have a harder time controlling our emotions but we are trying to get a handle on it.

"Mom and dad said that we didn't have to go to our morning classes if we don't feel up to it." Josie says coming in with a tray filled with breakfast for us.

"Well, I wouldn't be me if I chose to go to class when I don't have to." I say making the girls chuckle.

"Looks like we're skipping." Lizzie smiles excited as Hope looks a little worried.

"Don't worry, Hope, mom probably talked to the teachers so you won't get into any trouble." I say as she calms down a little chuckling.

"Sorry, so do you guys always skip classes?" she asks.

"Not really, since our parents are the headmasters it doesn't set a 'good example' but every now and then we get a day off. Jace and Alec sometimes get days of the full moon cause they can't seem to sit still." Josie says as she nods.

"They're probably still in their room, come on let's go bother them!" Lizzie say standing and taking a muffin from the tray Josie brought.

"You guys go, I need to shower and get dressed." I say standing up.

"Ok we'll meet you back here." Josie says looking at me with her worried eyes.

"Yeah, Jos, don't worry, I'm fine." I say chuckling as she nods and the three head out.

3rd POV

"Are you sure she was okay?" Alaric asks Kenna again. The two parents had woken up early to get things set up for the full moon tonight while Kenna went to check on the girls and make sure Emery was doing okay. Once she made sure she was feeling okay and told her that the boy would be okay she had to check on Keelin and Freya to make sure they were doing okay in their classes.

"Yes baby, she was doing better I think we need to help her get a better handle on her emotions maybe training with the boys more or doing your weird calming things with Lizzie." She says chuckling at the face Ric makes when mentioning his calming tactics.

She chuckles at him before standing up and walking over to where he was sitting behind his desk.

"You seem stressed." She smiles at him as she sits down on his lap.

"Just a little, hopefully after tonight with the full moon and when we're able to let the boy downstairs go everything will be better." He says as she nods.

"Everything is going to be okay, I don't want you stressing yourself out." Kenna says cuddling into his chest.

"You know what will help?" He whispers with a small smirk as she raises her head up to look in his eyes. They had a bright gleam to them that makes Kenna smile knowing that he's finally happy and letting himself live in it.

"Hmm, I think I have an idea of what will." She smiles leaning in to kiss him. They both smile into the kiss loving the feeling of the other in their arms.

Once Kenna pulls away from the kiss Ric pouts making her giggle. "I think I need another one, I'm still stressed." He says.

"You're lucky you're cute." She smiles as they kiss again pulling each other in deeper. Kenna smiles into the kiss feeling the warmth and love between them as they kiss. Alaric letting himself go and fall into the kiss, knowing that being with Kenna and the family they have made is where he wants to be forever. Once they pull away breathing heavily Ric smiles down pecking her lips again and her cheek as she giggles. She loves how affectionate he can be when he lets himself go.
