"Uncle Kol! Breakfast is ready." Kol winced when he heard his nephew shouting for him. "I'm a vampire, Kier... I can hear perfectly. No need to shout." Kol grunted. He heard Nikol muttering an apology.

Kol wasn't surprised seeing what was happening downstairs. One half and as Kol says the better half of the twin was sitting in the middle of the living room with grimoires opened around her. The messy hair and red eyes tell that despite his warning she stayed up all night. The other half, the bitter one was enjoying a drink while scrolling through her phone. Her red eyes as proof of lack of sleep but her tidy hair is proof that she is ready for a new day. His dearest niece is trying and failing to do a spell which seems to frustrate her. His nephew was speeding through the dining area and kitchen making sure everyone would be fed. Kol let out a chuckle when he saw no adult around.

Kol was met with hellos and good mornings. "Well, hello and morning to you all. What's cooking Nikol?" Kol asked while taking a seat near Lizzie.

"Would it kill you to call me Nik? And it's pancakes and muffins with eggs." Nikol answered. "As much as I love you and my dearest sister, Freya, you do know that I will never call you that. That name belonged to the baddest wolf of all time. I don't want you to turn up like him." Hope looked at her Uncle annoyed and then shook her head.

"Liz. where is darling, Caroline?" Kol asked while trying to peek at her phone. "She's out in the garden," Lizzie said. "Maybe trying to help us find something" Josie muttered while her eyes focused on the book she was reading. "Unlike you and Nik" Hope added.

"You are lucky that you're my favorite niece." "I'm your only niece 😔" Hope reminded.

"What did you just say, Andrea?" Nikol stormed out of the kitchen. "I don't help?" He asked angrily. "Yeah." Hope whispered a bit scared.

"You are going through the grimoires that I brought. I am feeding you and making sure your sanity is in check. So don't accuse me of not helping when I am the biggest help here." Nikol wasn't happy with the accusation. "And to remind you, unlike you blood sucking vampires I am a human who needs food." He added.

"Sorry. But we all are frustrated." Josie tried to calm the situation. "Then go out and vent your anger. Or maybe sleep. I am not going to tolerate your tantrums. Now, get your asses off the floor and get ready for breakfast or die of hunger." Kol watched on amused seeing how the two girls obeyed Nikol and left the room.

"Uh. I am going to find Bex." Kol sprinted when Nikol's hybrid eyes landed on him.

Caroline, who was in the garden, smiled and looked at the girl beside her. Caroline never thought there would come a day when she'd regard Rebekah Mikaelson as a true best friend. Their friendship formed not long after Rebekah went into hiding with Hope. Rebekah with no one to trust confided in her frenemy. While Caroline helped her in whatever way she could. Rebekah helped Caroline when she was pregnant with the twins. Their connection became strained afterward, thanks to Marcel and his grand plans. but again, when the Originals were on the run from Hallow, they became friends. Especially with Hope being her student and Rebekah being the worried aunt. That was the beginning of a true friendship that Caroline is sure will last forever.
