Kiel watched on helplessly as his mother stabbed him with the sword for the second time. And this time it pierced his heart.
And as fast as the sword reached his heart it was pulled out and Kiel felt a coldness around his heart. Eyes fluttering, he looked up to see Nikol using healing water on him. Lizzie was thrown feet away from him. Nikol must have done that.
Kiel knew it was Nikol because for a second, he saw Aries and Kieran's concern on his face. His eyes were glowing one eye purple and the other in his hybrid glow. While his one hand was on Kiel's chest other hand had clawed out with magic cracking from them. One side of his body was decorated with black veins showing his real appearance after he mastered white magic.
"Stay down." Nikol requested. Nikol left the healing water on Kiel's chest. He got up and took a few steps forward blocking Kiel from anyone's view.
Kiel wondered why Nikol felt the need to protect him when he could take down Lizzie in a simple spell. But he got his answers when he saw others joining Lizzie who was now on her feet.
Josie, Hope, Caroline, and Bonnie joining her wasn't surprising. After all, they are Lizzie's family and friends before his. He felt the will to live slowly die when he saw Davina joining the lineup with his fiancé Harry. Kiel knows that it wasn't Harry's betrayal but Davina's that hurt him most.
But is it really betrayal? In the prophecies, the mysterious person tells him one thing. The destruction was caused by him. Even if he doesn't want to believe he is a child of Fallen. Then why is Nikol protecting him?
As of the last, a blonde joined the group. Kiel has seen pictures of the blonde. Freya. Nikol's mother. Nikol must have a lot more faith in him if he is ready to go against his mother.
"I should have killed him before he was born." Lizzie's soft voice has so much honesty for a second Kiel was sure that the healing water stopped working.
"You should have told him the truth ages ago Lizzie and this wouldn't have happened." Nikol said back. "Nik, honey you have to be joking. Look around you. See all the people he has killed. There is no redemption." Freya tried to talk with his son.
"No redemption? Your brother destroyed innocent life and he had redemption. You killed people in the name of family, and you got a second chance. He was possessed by his magic because his bloody mother wasn't honest with him. Kiel deserves a chance more than any of us here. We are the ones who deserve to be killed." The reason Nikol protects him is clear. Nikol trusts him to control his power. To lead his magic.
"You are damning a whole world, Nikolai." Hope yelled. "As I was prophesised to do." Even if his appearance is scary Nikol talked calmly. Reminding Kiel of Elijah.
"Last warning Nik. Stand down." Freya's voice echoed sending a vibrational frequency.
Kiel whimpered too weak to put on a shield to protect his sensitive ears. "You don't want a fight with me. The universe be destroyed I will protect him." Nikol raised his arm levitating rocks and stones around the surroundings.
