Two months had passed and Mando was as distant as ever. You spent most of your time going from planet to planet, not doing much, just moving around. There were a few times you thought he might open up. But ever since your little activity, he seemed to put space between the two of you.
Currently, Mando had taken a bounty on a remote planet and had refused your help. Instead, you were to act as a babysitter for the child. You seriously considered leaving the ship and exploring the remote surface.
Maybe it was being stuck inside this metal tin can of a ship, but you were antsy. He had been gone 4 days, but it felt like longer. The only thing you had to talk to was the child, and it wasn't like he was going to talk back.
You grabbed your blaster before you walked towards the door of the ship, and debated whether you should do it. You put the child in your messenger bag at your side. You heard him coo, he wanted to leave too. You frowned.
"He's going to kill me for this," You told him as you looked down. He didn't seem to care.
You walked up to the keypad and pressed the button to lower the door down. Fresh air filled your lungs, your body welcoming it. There was a slight chill to the planet and it was extremely vegetated.
"We're just going on a walk. No harm in that, right?" You questioned, mostly to reassure yourself.
You walked down the hatch and stepped onto the mossy ground. You felt the child moving in the bag and saw him looking around curiously. You decided to head north into an area that didn't seem as heavily packed with greenery. You weren't sure how long you had been walking, all you knew was that it felt good.
You suddenly stopped as you looked down and saw a trail someone or something had left behind. You weren't scared to take someone on, but with the child vulnerably at your side, you couldn't risk it.
You looked around before you turned and started walking back towards the ship. You hadn't noticed that the sun had almost set. How far were you from the ship?
The world around you grew darker, and you realized you must have walked for hours. You could barely see in front of you and uneasiness filled you. You stopped for a moment to rest. You took a deep breath just as someone tackled you to the ground.
The thickness of the moss had acted as a cushion for your fall. You tried to scream but their hand covered your mouth. Their body was pressed against yours. You reached up to push them off and were met with the familiar feeling of cool metal. The child cooed gently at your side.
"M-mando?" You tried to say through their fingers. You moved your hands further up, trying to locate a helmet. As your hands were placed on the sides of it, you felt him nod.
"Stay quiet for me." His modified voice said softly. You nodded hesitantly. He removed his hand from your mouth.
Even though his full weight wasn't on top of you, he still was heavy. It was becoming more difficult for you to breathe as his armor molded deeper into your body. You tried to push him off, at least hoping to signal you wanted to be released. But, it didn't work. You now noticed that you were surrounded by tall grass. Who were you hiding from?
The sound of footsteps made your heart pound. Mando still remained on top of you but his weight was mostly off you. The child was at your side behaving well for once.
