Chapter 21

You managed to make it to the ship, dragging Mando along the way. When you arrived, you were greeted by Malia and couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief seeing the child in her hands.

You dragged Mando into the ship and pulled out a cot, "My medical supplies, get them for me, hurry!"

Malia rushed to pick up what you needed and you whispered to Mando reassuringly. His wound was bad. Bad was an understatement. There was a deep gash in his leg, spanning along the side of his thigh. It seemed like the leather was torn everywhere he didn't have the beskar plates.

"Kriff, kriff," You muttered as you crouched next to his cot, seeing that parts of the wound were black. It was infected, you needed his armor off.

"Mando, your armor needs to come off. Your wound looks infected and I can't do anything with all this," You looked from the wound to his mask several times. You could only imagine the panic in your shifting eyes.

"Y/N, I thought you'd never ask," He said snarkily through a painful grimace. You couldn't help but roll your eyes.

"You're really funny, you know that" You sarcastically groaned while mentally preparing the steps of the medical process you were to perform.

You looked to Mando for reassurance and he let out a small nod reaching out to touch your shoulder. You moved your hand towards the first metal plate on his thigh and removed it with a bit of force. You took off the others a bit easier.

"I'm going to fully remove the leather, I need a better view," You said as you took a knife cutting the already torn fabric.

It was worse than you thought. You could feel yourself wanting to cry, but you had to stay strong for him. There was no pain medicine for him, nothing that would ease his suffering and it truly hurt your heart. You began to clean the wound, scraping out the dirt and other things that had infiltrated the gash. The groans Mando let out caused hesitation within you and you had to push yourself to keep going. You prepared the needle for stitching.

"Please pass out, please pass out," You muttered knowing the pain tearing into the flesh would cause him.

-*a little time skip*-

It had been over a month since the incident, and Mando was slowly recovering. You had spent the most part of the month trying to find somewhere to settle, and eventually you landed on a small secluded planet. Thankfully, you were able to get him antibiotics and other medicine to help ease his recovery journey. Most days he couldn't get out of bed, and it hurt you to see that. You did everything you could but he may never walk the same again, and you felt that fell on your medical work. You knew he didn't hold resentment about it, but a part of you couldn't shake the fact deep down he might blame you.

As usual, you went for your checkin with Mando. You knocked and waited a moment in case he had to put on his helmet, before you entered his room with a small smile, hoping to cheer him up. You found him lying in bed.

"Good morning, how are you?" You asked walking towards him as your eyes wandered to his exposed chest. Dirty thoughts ran through your mind, but you snapped back to reality after seeing your reflection in his helmet.

"I want to rip your clothes off," He said sternly as a blush rapidly spread all over your face.

"As your leading physician, sex is out of the question and could decline your current healing" You said very matter-of-fact knowing damn well you wanted to take off his pants.

"I think your denial is causing a decline in my healing" You heard him softly mutter.

"Maybe you're right," You said with a smirk as you began to undress.
