Fate is not favorable. You're destined for something you have no choice over. Was it fate you ended up here? Blood on your hands, separated from everyone you hold dear. How cruel fate has chosen to be.
It wasn't always this difficult. Sure, growing up wasn't easy when your parents were working with the resistance and you were trying to control the supernatural ability you had been gifted with. But, it was a hell lot easier than the feeling of guilt overtaking you now.
There were too many questions that couldn't be answered. Would you see Mando again? Was he already dead? You might have been too late, and his death would be on your hands. You would jump to self-blame, scolding yourself for sleeping and getting caught up with Ace trying to find Earl.
Earl. The last part of your father that you physically had, now gone. You cursed fate from the deepest part of your soul. Why had it given you this path?

"Y/n," a voice called out as the hand on your shoulder squeezed tighter. For the smallest moment, you thought it might be him. Against all odds, he had returned to you and you were pulled back to reality. You broke your eyes away from the dead bodies on the floor and looked to the voice's owner. It was only Boba, and your heart sunk.
"It's all my fault," You chocked, tears flooding your eyes. He had taken his helmet off and pulled you into a tight hug. The feel of the body armor against you was all too familiar, and the tears fell rapid now.
"No, it's his and you know it," He said angrily. You felt reassured knowing he must have disliked Ace just as much as you.
-
You don't remember leaving the cantina and the hours Boba spent interrogating people were all a blur. The only thing you remember is Boba practically dragging you along with him, never letting you out of his grasp. You were aware you must have been some type of burden to him, but you couldn't do anything to change that.
"Yeah I remember seeing that tin man. Put up a hell of a fight," Your trance broke as the first piece of useful information was spoken. You were sat at a table in what you assumed to be another cantina. The man across from you seemed painfully average.
"When?" Your words were soft. The man looked at you like you were crazy. You repeated yourself.
"It musta been two days ago now," The man spoke, "It looked like he was about to leave but they got him before he could leave town."
Two days. He was on his way back to you. He was so close and they got him. Your blood boiled.
"Hey, let's all calm down now," The man said, and you noted he had an accent you weren't fond of which only furthered your rage.
"Who took him?" You demanded smashing your hand against the table, causing the man's drink to shake.
"You need to control your girl, bounty hunter" He laughed looking towards Boba who sat beside you with his helmet on. You noticed people around the cantina were now looking towards you.
"She is free to do as she wants," He spoke in a way as to mock the man for such absurdity.
"Who took him?" You repeated louder. Your body felt like it was on fire. You needed him back, you needed him to be alright.
"None of us saw her face," The man said, hoping the information would suffice you.
"Her?" You questioned and looked over to Boba. You wish he had his helmet off so you could analyze his reaction.
"Yeah, she had similar armor to your friend here," He said taking a sip of his drink.
"You know her?" You turned your head as you asked Boba.
"Unfortunately," You could hear a modified sigh, he motioned to the man, "You can go."
The man quickly retreated from the booth. Pathetic.
"I'm going to kill her," You spoke through gritted teeth.
You looked down at your own drink which you hadn't noticed you were clutching. You could see your reflection in the cup. You almost laughed. Though blurry, you could make out the wreck your hair had become. Your eyes were puffy from all the tears. You froze when you saw them.
"My eyes," You moved closer to the glass trying to see if you were going delusional, "Are they red?" You asked turning to look at Boba.
"I'm sure it's just from crying, love," He reassured you. But you knew better, you knew your tendencies and how easy you strayed from light to dark.
"Oh maker," You quickly got out from the booth and noticed a restroom sign in the corner of the cantina. You pushed the door open, thankfully none of the stalls were occupied.
You clutched onto the sink for stability, you looked up and saw a small mirror. You looked at your clear reflection, which revealed your eyes to be their normal color.
"I'm going insane," You said as you turned the faucet and ran your hands under. You scooped some water up and splashed it in your face. It was colder than you expected and your body shivered.
You heard a knock on the bathroom door, "Y/n," the familiar voice spoke. You walked over and pulled the door open to reveal a helmet-less Boba bearing a look of utmost concern.
You could feel the tears forming, you hated crying. You thought it made you look weak, and you hated looking weak. You always felt like you had to prove yourself to everyone. He reached out his arms and pulled you into him.
"I'm sorry," You mumbled into him over and over. You dragged him into this and now he was practically baby-sitting you.
"It's okay, it's okay. I know how you feel," He whispers softly his breath warm against your ear. In any other situation you would have been disgusted, but you had emotionally bonded to this man way quicker than you'd care to admit. You blamed it on the fact he had saved your life. "We're going to find him, Y/n."
No. We hope to find him. You had been able to psychoanalyze this man rather quickly, it was one of your talents. You knew he had no clue whether Mando was still alive or not, but he would put up a front for you. He had to, for the sanity of you both.

A week. A kriffing WEEK. You had left the ship five days ago, and your return was long overdue. You had practically searched everywhere on this kriffing planet, and you were beginning to believe they left the planet completely. Each day, your rage grew. You were going to kill Ace and the mysterious woman who had taken Mando from you.
You had tried getting information out of Boba who claimed to have known her, but he wouldn't give in. You figured he would tell you when the time was right. You appreciated him not prying on your life, so you would try your best to do the same.
You had discussed the plan with Boba. You would return to the ship to check-in and bring some new supplies, and he would keep searching. You parted ways at sunset, feeling it better to travel at night and draw less attention to yourself.
You looked up and saw the stars, it was beautifully clear. You looked behind you and saw the distant lights from the town. You picked up your pace, desperate for a return to familiarity.
When you finally caught glimpse of the Razor Crest you smiled for the first time in awhile. It wasn't your usual one, but it was big enough to be momentous. You ran to the ship and opened the hatch with the button Mando had given you.
Malia must have got the signal the hatch was being opened because as the hatch lowered, she stood there with a blaster pointed at your chest. You raised your hands in surrender.
"Hello there," You grinned as your gaze shifted to the small green creature right by her side.
