The two days without Mando felt like an eternity. You missed your mindless bickering, but you mostly missed the company he provided you. He never asked too many questions and he was such a good listener. Now, you were stuck with Malia who asked too many questions and always had some absurd story to tell.
The final hour that marked two days had come. You had decided that you and Earl would go and Malia would stay here with the child. You had spent the morning preparing, making sure you had both your lightsabers secured at your belt. You wore a black long-sleeved top and tight black pants. The final touch was your dark brown cloak that would conceal your weapons and your face.
You made your way out of your room and into the main area of the ship. Malia stood holding the child and Earl rolled in.
"Do not come looking for me. You are to stay and protect the child, am I clear?" You told Malia harshly. She gave a nod, she seemed terrified of you.
You opened the hatch and watched it slowly lower. You adjusted your hood so it covered more of your face. Once the hatch was lowered you walked off, Earl trailing closely behind.
"Be safe!" Malia called out as she closed the hatch.
You started the walk towards the city. Though it seemed close, you estimated it was at least 3 miles. You looked at Earl and frowned.
-
An hour later you arrived. The city was even more magnificent up close. The way the buildings stood on the rocks like that amazed you. You wondered how they got up there. Vendors lined the streets calling for you to buy their items. Many spoke in a dialect you weren't familiar with, but a majority seemed to be speaking Basic.
Mando had given Earl a tracker for his location. You were extremely thankful he had taken that precaution or you would be completely lost. You took in your surroundings, never stopping but sometimes walking slower to truly take it in. You continued walking along the paved path, Earl leading the way.
Earl let out a loud screech and your vision broke from ahead. You looked down to see a grotesque creature trying to pick him up. Earl extended one of his mechanical hands and tasered the creature. The thing fell to the ground seizing.
You smiled. You didn't know he could do that. You were glad to see he was more sufficient than you thought. Earl continued as though nothing happened, and you gladly followed. A rocky arch greeted the way into a more village-like area of the city.
Earl continued to lead you down the path lined with houses and shops. He stopped at a bar and turned his 'head' to look at you, he let out a beep.
"Alright, thanks bud. Wait out here." You said giving him a gentle pat on the head.
You entered the cantina and the loud chatter ceased. You stood awkwardly at the entrance looking around. All sorts of creatures met your gaze, some human and others seemingly unsightly. You noticed a woman approaching you.
"You aren't welcome here," She looked at you her voice full of hate, "Jedi." She spat.
"I am not a Jedi. I am simply looking for a friend," You spoke sternly, meeting her gaze.
She started laughing hysterically. You wanted to hit her. What was so funny about a simple statement like that?
"Hold on," She said through laughter, "Let me guess, you're here looking for a Mandalorian," She said hunched over in hysterics. She seemed to be trying to compose herself, but it wasn't working.
"Yes, actually I am," You spoke and this time the whole cantina started laughing, "What is so funny about that?"
"Oh? You really don't know? They threw him in prison!" She said still laughing.
