The damaged brains

chapter 34 : Ship wreck.

  What if all this was nothing but a mere feeling ? What if Grey was dead allready , those miserable thought got into my brain as I watched the bleu waves from beyond the shore ..

" Do you think they can make it ? " Ian finally asked as we stood by the point where the waves met the sand and the footsteps got lost .

" Why not .. " Mr Andrew spoke at last , I didn't know why I couldn't look him in the eye , I felt ashamed because of what I have done and there was no energy left in me to stand up and defend myself .

" This part of the ocean if full of seperated islands ,  I'm not trying to give you false hopes , but they wouldn't take the chance to go to in if they hadn't seen any hope . "

Ian's eyes casted away staring wright and left searching for a small sign of life but appearantly there wasn't any to be find .

Mr Andrew walked back to the car and a brief while of time later Ian and Jack followed , I felt a sharp pain in my heart and franckly I was disapointed , how could they just leave and give up on their hope !

I promised myself to never leave this miserable part of the wild ocean until I find my twin , and I've always been the kind of person who stick to her words  no matter what .

My mind has gone completely numb as a shattered reck of a ship appeared to me from between the trees at the western side of the beach , my brain was taking things second by second to process .

Suddenly the warm sunlight pouring around all around me seemed as twice bright as it actually had been , the bleu waters  of the ocean as twice as bleu .

" Ian ! " I screamed with all what had left of force in me .

The three men turned to face me and I pointed my shaking fingers toward the ship wreck .

" There ! . " Words left me with such an effort .

They followed the direction I had pointed to and the four of us didn't waiste a second in getting to the ship wreck .

I had hope in me allready that Grey was alive ,I actually knew so . And seeing the ship wreck revived that hope , I crossed my heart and wished if maybe there was a chance they were hiding somewhere between the wreck ,maybe their footsteps were a smart move by them to mislead who ever was they were running from .

We flipped the whole reck upside down , calling their names but we got no answer .

Finally,  and by the same way we came, we got back to the car , tired of this life we were . Grey and Cassandra had really gone to sea , wether they make it or not .. no one knew.

We got inside the car quietly , none of us dared to say a word . As Mr Andrew drove carefully up the hill I saw a glance of a cottage at the top of it .

"Stop the car ! " I screamed and he obeyed under his pair of questioning eyes .

I quickly got out of the car , I made my way up the side of the hill to the cottage , Ian called after me and I stopped looking back to him .

" They are gone Em ! " He sounded so frustrated by my hope .

"C'mon , let's just leave okey ? " I didn't move , I just kept staring at him with disapointement .

" If you want to leave then you're free to go ! " I said at last taking a step to meet his eyes , I dared him to leave knowing that he would never ..

" I know my brother is somewhere out there , and I will never leave until I bring him back .. wouldn't you do the same to your sister ? Haa ? Cassandra is there too . "

He hesitated at first but I saw in his eyes that my words were getting inside his brain .

" Ian .. " I took his hands in mine , I could feel how shaken and unsecured he was .

" Petta said that we have to move from there , no where is safe right ? Look at that cottage , who could possibly live there ? No one ! See . " I pointed my fingers at the abondoned cottage at the top of the hill .

" We can stay here for the next few days , if they don't show up we'll leave  .. I promise . " He didn't say a word , and I wasn't sure what was going on in his mind this time . All I knew was that I wasn't going to leave anywhere without my brother .

" Please Ian ! ." I really needed him to say yes .

" Guys ." He turned to face the two men staring at us by the side of the car .

" I think we found another shelter  .. for now . "

A fainting smile appeared on his lips as he turned to face me , he kissed the top of my head as his arms folded around me in a tight needed hug .
