The damaged brains

Chapter Six - Damaged .

   The only voice that was heard in the car was the women's from the radio .

" know best who is on your side ,where ever you are head to the nearest hospital and take your injection . Do not run from the agents , remember we are here to help you get through this ... " She sounded like a machine .

" Yeah right ! Take your injection , they are asking us to give our humanity or they will use force , and what she says ? -know best who's in your side- bloody idiots" The third guy emitated her voice sacrastically .

"  Ian , give me the gun ! " Mr Andrew took the gun from the guy who's name appearantly was Ian .

"Its gonna be a long road my mates . " the bold man said with excitement rubbing his palms on his thighs .

More carcasses apeared along the side road , bits of human bones were shattered all along  . Then there I saw something moving , a women , her mouth covered with blood , as the car past near her I could tell who she was . The ginger women who injected me .

" Jade .. " Mr Andrew's sounded so sad , he stopped the car and tried to get out .

" Dont ! " the bold man yelled at him and closed the door back , then he continued ." Im sorry Charlie , she's done ."

She must be dear to him , and now there she was . Standing right out of the car , while he couldnt do anything to help her . I remembered my father , how helpless was I . Just like Mr Andrew , I didnt feel sorry for him but for the women. She looked so pale , as one who had lost his identity her features held no emotions.

A tiny animal ran in front of the car , the women noticed it . She ran fast and held it in both her hands , her back was turned to us but I could tell from the blood dripping down that she was eating the animal . What ever it was .

" Oh My God ! " Grey placed his hand on his mouth as not to throw up . Ian gave him a bottle of water and he took a sip .
" You okey ? " I asked and he nodded catching his breath.

" What the fuck was that ? " Grey handed the bottle back to Ian who smiled at him . He had the most beautiful smile , and he was much yonger than the other guys, his eyes held a lovely shade of dark brown . Our eyes met , he brushed his dark hair up his forehead while I looked away .

" Can anyone tell me why are these people eating wild animals!! " My brother felt frustrated .

Mr Andrew chose to be the one to answer this , he took a long breath while the car moved slowly again .

" Its in their brain , what the agents have been injecting people with is a chemicals that effects the brain .. Its called PX39 , ofcourse nothing is for sure yet but appearantly its spreading all over the world .."

" How can they do such a thing ! They were supposed to protect us !! " I interrupted him . I sounded rude .

" This whole thing had began way before we could realize , the higher forces were the once infected first . Who ever made this plan excuted it really good . They knew that the locals will be unarmed , uncaged little scared birds . We're an easy target without the security service . " He paused as the car past another bloody mess of human's flesh and bones .

" The PX39 , as far as we know effects the brain . It was made of chemicals that allready exist in our system , it alters the way the nerve cells normally work making it release abnormally large amounts of Neurotrausmitters . " The name of the chemical flashed in my brain . Biology class .

" Just like Cocaine ? " I asked interrupting him once again .

" Cocaine or Methanohetamine are drugs that does the same effect to the brain , the only diffrence is that the PX39 is permanent , and its symptoms keep developing from bad to worse . Im affraid no one so far know how worst it can get , but what we know for sure is that the human's brain gets deeply damaged by the PX39 , and it slowly loses control to respond to the natural behaviour that is linked to survival . The part that is responsible for learning and memory , decision making and behaviour's controll gets completely damaged . And so the human loses his identity .. he turn to a brainless figure .."

The thought of being one of the infected people made my heart jump , after all we too had been injected and until that moment Mr Andrew was the last person on earth I can tust .

" Is that what you and the women gave us ? " I asked begging him to tell the truth .

" No ! God .. cant you see that I saved your life .. "
" By killing our Father !! " Grey tried his best not to punch him from behind .
" He wasnt your father anymore , he had lost himself .. people are eating the animals while there's a tiny bit of humanity left in them . They are feeding their hunger by the lower life forms , that's of animals , and once  the brain gets completely damaged they'll start eating the non infected people ."

The thought of it made me sick , I never thought this day would come . Where humans eat eachother like wild animals. What ever that red liquid they injected me with was in my blood . I needed to know what was it and I needed a convincing answer .

" What did you gave us ? " I insisted on my question .

" Its a virus .. " Ansewered the bold man .

" Jack ! " Ian shouted at him .

" Its okey . They have to know ." Mr Andrew said at last.
