Chapter two -The Cabin

I felt numb as the man approached both of us still pointing his pistol towards us .

" Step into the light ! And keep your hands up ." The man almost yelled at us , while both my brother and I did what the middle aged man asked .

" please help us ! We are lost , we are clean I promise they never catched us .." I couldnt finish my line and I broke down to tears , I couldnt take it anymore , I was filled with a mess of wild emotions.

There was a moment of awkward silence then the man looked me in the eye , my vision was blurry due to the tears filling my eyes but I could feel that he was familiar to me , I was pretty sure I've seen him somewhere but where !

" Mr Andrew ? " The name flashed in my brain one second before Grey could spell it out .

" Grey ! Emma ? What the hell are you doing out there alone . Step inside "

I couldnt beleive how lucky we were , Mr Andrew was our neighbor and to be frankly honest I have never liked him before , in fact I thought he was a pain in the ass though he never really left his home . I felt releived that I saw a familiar face after a week of running around , I started losing faith and now Im pretty hopefull once again that everything will be okey and all will be back to usual .

" What do you think yourself doing ? " Said a bold man blocking the door , he was talking to Mr Andrew and his tone had a rage within it .

" they're clean ! Its them .. we need them" answered Mr Andrew ..

Wait they need us ? What does he mean by that . Should we trust him , maybe he too was one of those bloody animals who call themselves governement workers and he too will give us god knows what they have been injecting people with lately . But after all do we really have a second choice ? We had to stay here , it looked like the safest place to be for now .. at least for one night , at least to catch our breath .

" Emma , lets go " Grey's voice woke me up from my thought . And the three of us walked into the cabin as the bold man moved apart to let us in .

The smell of food coming from the kitchen filled my nose to remind me that I was starving .
There were more than twenty people in the cabin , I couldnt believe how did they fit there it looked abondoned and small .
They all set at the dining table while Grey and I freshed ourselves up and wached our hands .

Mr Andrew intoduced us to them as we entered the dining room . And they all greeted us in a mechanical way , just like Robots moving all along one motion ! Okey that was awkward . But I didnt mind awkwardness , I wanted to eat.

The food was okey , I felt alife after I ate and had a coffee , all I needed was a warm blanket and a bed .

" I love you " I heard a female's voice behind my ears , and as I turned to look she kissed my cheek and squeezed my chin .

"Im sorry ! Do I know you ? " I was confused . The women with red long hair kept smiling at me , there was something queer about her eyes .

" Come with me Emma , I'll show you your room ." Said Mr Andrew and took my hand as he shot the women a glare . " Im sorry but you will have to share a room with your brother , we dont have much space as you can observe " continued Mr Andrew .

" Oh please dont be sorry ! I really do appreciate your help " I hesitated then continued in a low voice . " If only mom and dad were here with us .. they would be thankfull to you I know that ". He did not answer me , instead he stopped and stared at me like he was astonished . Is there's something I need to know ? Are they okey .. a lot of things were going on in my mind but I couldnt let a word out , I guess I was too scared to know the truth. After a while he broke the silence ." There are okey .. survivors are devided into three sections now , they are in the east . Not far away from here "

"How do you know that ! Did you see them ?" Thank god they were still alife ! I couldnt beleive how happy that made me .

" I did saw them in fact . And They too were worried about you , but its okey now I will reach the eastern section and let them know that we found you ".

Does that mean that they were looking for us ? What was so special about us anyway ..

"Grey ! There you are " . My brother and I were taken to a room in the attic , it was fine and warm .

I fell asleep right after the moment my head made contact with the pillow . It felt nice being able to sleep knowing that you're safe .

I felt a rough hand on my forehead and I could barely open one eye . " Mr Andrew ? " I asked and tried to look where Grey has been lying earlier . He was not there .

" where's Grey ? " I stood up , but the ginger women was behind me and she made me sit down again holding my shoulders down . I noticed that there was an injection filled with red liquid in her hands . I looked at her face , there was still this queer thing about her and her awkward smile was still on her face , I was so scared and I did not know what to do .

" Mr Andrew , please dont do this .." tears filled my eyes as I begged him to set me and my brother free .

"You're safe now , its okey " he said and gave the women the green light with a slight nod and so she did it , I felt a horrible pain in my arm where she injected me and I felt numb , my eyes closed slowly as I welcomed the darkness that surrounded the place .
