"Any last words, princess?"

You cocked a brow and laughed lightly, pushing the small blade away with a finger. He wasn't holding it to your neck very well. You tilted your head to meet your assassins eyes, only to be met with the head of a pig. You quickly stood, still facing the man.

His arm fell to his side and he sighed. "Are you going to make this difficult?" he said, clearly annoyed.

"No, don't worry." You mused, "But before you kill me, may I know your name?"

He tilted his head and chuckled softy, "And why would you want to know that?"

"I'd like to know who's head I will hold on a platter, pig boy." You snarled, throwing off your crown and pulling out a dagger slightly bigger than his.

"Oh, you're cocky." You could hear the smirk in his voice, "I am Technoblade, but... you probably know me as The Blade, now don't you?"

Your eyes widened, but you tried to muffle your panic. Technoblade, or 'The Blade' had invaded the Badlands just a few weeks ago. Hundreds died, and many are missing (presumed dead). You knew you were good with a blade, especially the one you currently held, but this man single-handedly caused the fall of a nation. He was a legend.

"Technoblade, huh?" You tried to calm yourself, questioning if it was worth it to call the guards. On one hand, they could save you, but on the other hand, he could kill you and all of them. You'd have to just hope that one, you could convince him not to kill you or two, you got lucky.

He lunged at you and you jumped back, nearly falling down the tall stairwell that led up to your throne.

"Why do you want to kill me?" You desperately tried to distract him.

"You're a tyrant, princess." He started, "You're going to be corrupted by your power." He jumped and you again, causing you to leap onto your throne. He spun around to face you, slashing his sword at you. You continued to dodge his blade somehow while he began to speak again.

"I can't let you live. No two people deserve that much power."

Your anxiety rose with every swing, and you began to tire out. He could tell. But you got an idea.

"I don't even want to be in this situation,," You choked out, out of breath as you dodge yet another swing. You had a few cuts at this point, but your robes were thick enough to keep you from getting injured.

"Oh, you don't? Then why are you fighting?" He paused, staring you down. You couldn't see his face, but you could tell that he was smiling.

"Because I want to live? Isn't that obvious?" You responded, gripping your dagger until you knuckles turned white.

Suddenly, you leapt forward, grabbing your cape and throwing it over the taller man.

"HEH?" He yelled.

Soon, it covered him near completely. He stumbled back, directly onto the stairs. He shouted out as he fell down the flight. He slammed on the bottom of the steps.

You peeked over at him from where you were standing up against the wall. He wasn't moving.

"Technoblade?" You whispered. When he didn't respond you cheered quietly. You had just killed The Blade! Or, so you thought...

He began fumbling around and grumbling once again. You froze, debating if you should make a run for the guards. Before you could make your decision, though, he threw the cloth off of him and stood.

"Look, Technoblade, before you come back up here, " You began, your voice shaking, "I don't want to be a Queen. I want the monarchy to fall just as much as you do- ok? I just couldn't do anything about it."

He laughed, genuinely,

"I'm not kidding!" You shouted, defensively, "I can help you, just let me live!"

His smile fell. And then it hit you. His pig mask had fallen off. He had long pink hair that was tied into a braid which was thrown over his shoulder. It was messy, but efficient. He had two tusk-like teeth poking out of his mouth, and his eyes were so dark they bordered on black. There was a small scar over his nose. He was handsome, for a rogue assassin.

"I can't let you live, Princess. You've seen my face, you know who I am. I don't have a choice any more. Unless you, well, left with me."

"What?"

"You could leave with me, Princess. We could go and take down the Monarchy together. As business partners, of course."

"Business partners..." You repeated softly to yourself.

"What would I get out of this?" You rose your voice as you spoke, attempting to hide how shaky it was.

"Freedom. You get freedom from the castle, freedom from your duties and the life you're forced to live. You said you don't want to be a Queen, right? Well, taking down the monarchy would free you."

You thought for a moment, watching Techno's eyes reflect the light from the light of the chandelier that sat above him.

"When would we leave?"

"As soon as we can, princess."

"Would I be able to alert-"

"Are you serious?" He says, interrupting you as he laughed. "We're leaving for a reason! Nobody can know where you went, let alone who you went with!"

"Right, right. And don't-"

"Princess!" Vincent's voice rang out.
